Steps to reproduce: Create a layout file and a tab delimited text file like the ones seen on the info images.

CC'15-'17 All hyperlinks missing/removed after round trip with InCopy editors
I am a designer and build corporate white papers anywhere from 35-100+ pages in length. We use the layout InCopy workflow with one assignment and all stories exported under that. After I import and design/format all content including hyperlinks, I then save for the editors for use in InCopy. They then do their work, and save for me, standard. Upon opening, all the hyperlinks are missing with a "red flag" denoting the ref. is missing . Oddly enough, for the past two documents we made, you could still export to PDF with the links functioning, this despite all the missing…

AGLFN: ZWJ, ZWNJ, ZWS in PDF
Indesign is not written ZWJ (U+200D), ZWNJ (U+200C), ZWS (U+200B) with its glyph name uni200D, uni200C, uni200B respectively.
This is not helping in copying the text with ZWJ (U+200D), ZWNJ (U+200C), ZWS (U+200B) from PDF.
These non-printing characters are copied has "space" instead.
These non-printing characters in Indic scripts are part of text. With and without these characters, text can changes its meaning.
Please support these characters with AGLFN glyph names in fonts in Indesign, PDF export feature.

Profiles equal to the Output-Intend get lost on PDF-Export
When exporting a PDF all profiles equal to the Output-Intend (which in my case is the Document-Colorspace PSO Coated V3) get lost when exporting.
I have created a small test-file with an PSO Coated V3 Image and an ISO Coated V2 Image.
When Exporting as PDF X4 with Output-Intend Set to PSO Coated V3 the Image that IS PSO Coated V3 looses its profile and the same for the ISO Coated V2 when the Output-Intend is set to that.
This is horrible for Colormanagement. I've been in contact with "Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG" and they suggested to report this to Adobe…

Missing color in PDF from InDesign
I have an InDesign file with a placed PSD file in it, which contains two spot colors. When I save the file as a PDF out of InDesign, only one of the two spot channels is visible.
I'm running the latest versions of InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat. To reproduce, open the attached InDesign file and save as a PDF. The resulting PDF should show a yellow and blue spot, but only the blue is visible. (The PDF generated during packaging also exhibits the problem.)

Print to PDF with trapping gives undefined error.
How about Adobe fix this problem of printing to PDF with trapping. It had been giving this problem since v18. Every printer that images film or plates use the trapping feature for assistance in press registration. Adobe InDesign is useless in creating PDF files with trapping. I guess I will have to start using my Quark Xpress program to do this.

Layers not exporting properly to PDF (v20.0 2025)
Before the 20.0 2025 update I had a simple ID file with multiple layers. I exported with PDF 1.5 presets, Create Acrobat Layers checked and Export Layers: All Layers chosen. All layers visible in the PDF and opens up in AI as expected, with layers.
Since the update, same file, same presets etc. I export and all layers still visible in Acrobat, but does not open in AI properly. Instead all laters in one layer, as paths.

Crop Marks not displaying correctly with indesign 2025
My bleed is set to 10mm on all sides, and I've clicked to offset the crop marks by 10mm also. In the exported PDF though, the bleed amount is included but the crop marks show to cut at the bleed line rather than the cut line if that makes sense! See screenshot. Please help - need to submit signage artwork today and would only take 2 secs to do if this would work as it always has done in the past!!!

the first letter of the heading does not appear in the result.
Adobe Indesign (19.0 : 20.0) 2024-2025 / Mac os Sequoia 15.0.1
When using a Text Variable (Running Header ‹Paragraph Style›) and applying it to fully diacritized Arabic text, the first letter of the heading does not appear in the result. This issue arises when exporting to PDF.
open indesign and Type the fully diacritized Arabic text, Assign paragraph sytle, go to Text variable - Define - New - Running Header «Paragraph Style» - Assign.
The text is expected to display correctly without errors; however, contrary to this, the first letter of the fully diacritized text does not appear. This issue…1 vote -

Whenever I use psd files in the links the pdf export file becomes huge like 10x bigger than when I a flatted version
I have a digital catalogue and in working with lots of psd in the links. To create a small pdf I have to instead of links the psd, to export to png and than put it in the indesign. This is a hassle when I have to edit the psd because i hav to take so many extra steps for a minor adjustment. Instead Indesign shoulde be handling the images conversion and flatening. And yes, I'm checking the export only appearce on the export.
The app is up to date and recently I had to format my pc so reinstalling…1 vote -

Duplicated characters ONLY IN PDF EXPORT!
The following process creates a bug,
which only appears when exporting to PDF:1) Write a few words (in Hebrew) and add 2 footnotes
2) Set 'No break' to one of the characters between the 2 footnote references
Bingo!
Only it the PDF will the bug appear -
The character (comma\colon\letter) after the first comment - is doubled!!!In InDesign everything looks normal!
You only discover the mistake in the PDF/after printing!!1 vote -
JPG and PDF export only exports part of file
I have a huge document (164 x 44 in) that has a number of imported InDesign documents as well as multiple PDFs for a museum exhibit. When I export to PDF and JPG, only parts of it come through. Luckily, I only needed to export the components for print – the 164 x 44 doc was only used as a layout tool for the wall. But I wanted to report this bug. It exported fine until the central mural image was scaled up to size and converted to CMYK, so it may be an issue with memory, though I think…

full stop vanishes in right to left languages
When producing Arabic documents in InDesign (which we have been doing for over 30 years) we have recently notice that when saving to PDF that full stops that are at the end of the justified text (parallel to the edge of the text box) disappear in the PDF.

Acrobat extension for Chrome renders sheared rectangles incorrectly in PDF exported from InDesign CC 2022 / 24
Filled sheared rectangles in PDF documents exported from InDesign are rendered incorrectly in the Adobe Acrobat extension for Chrome, but displays as expected in other PDF readers [ Preview, Safari, Quickview, etc. ]. The sheared rectangles are displayed as a box of the fill colour with the outer bounds of the sheared shape. Adding a stroke suggests the sheared rectangle is preserved, but is not honoured by the fill.
Work around: Adding an additional anchor point, or rounding the corners, appears to correct this issue.

Version 19.4 - InDesign mangles keywords so that they are not searchable
Placement of a valid keyword searchable PDF or EPS file into InDesign and subsequent export to PDF leads to mangling of original words with the addition of one letter from another word.
