This is not being addressed at all. It's now July and InDesign should work natively with an official release (16.3) on M1 Macs.
Why this is not a priority is beyond me, I'm considering sending back my iMac while I still can and go back to windows. I love the iMac, but I can't work like this. -

PLEASE make it stop! It's horrible to work like this.
I just updated to the latest Indesign and have a new MacBook Air M1 -

This driving me nuts too! Taking forever to do my work. I too have latest mac and os and latest version of InDesign. For such expensive subscription costs it would be nice if basic functions actually worked

I have the same issue. Has this been fixed yet? I'm using the latest MacOS on the new iMac 2021.

Exactly the same issue. Text keeps disappearing every time I type. Have to move the page up and down to make it visible again. I had hoped that updating to the latest version of InDesign built for Apple Silicon would fix the issue but unfortunately not.

Same here, another M1 Mac user on Big Sur and it's incredibly frustrating.
Adobe, please fix!

I am on Indesign pre-release version (Apple M1) and it is properly driving me up the wall.
Things are taking 3x longer and causing typos and formatting issues, WTF.
Unbelievable that Adobe did have not supported such a key piece of software on the new mac from the start.

Using InDesign 16.2.1 (subscription) on MacBook Air 2021 with the M1 processor and Big Sur, the same thing is happening to me for the first time. Extremely frustrating.

<<ahh! My message was just erased>> what I SAID was that you can simply dupe your text box by dragging to pasteboard, then when visibility returns, delete the dupe.
It is utter PIA and I believe that it was built into this software to drive users to the more costly subscription.

a quick fix is to duplicate your text box by dragging while holding down the option key. Visibility returns, then delete the dupe.

Still happening. I cannot create my document, so what do I do?
Update: My wireless keyboard caused the issue when I hit enter to start a new paragraph. When I use my laptop keyboard the text frame works as intended.

Text disappearing while editing is still my biggest issue, even with new versions of the program.

This issue is plaguing me now, and I will attempt to install a 2018 version of InDesign work from that. The same lame response from InDesign "Admin" appears several times in this thread. How can this issue go unaddressed for the large user base having problems with disappearing type, or will all of your development resources be diverted to the new Apple silicon versions of Adobe products?
