I googled this problem and came to this page. This has been happening to me on my new iMac OS BigSur, it is a constant problem and doubles the amount of time I spend editing text. It is horrible. I have to adjust the text frame every time to get the text back. What is the problem Adobe, when will you get this fixed??

this happens to me constantly. 5 to 6 times each minute as I edit text. Mac M1 Mini, Big sur, InD 2022, every time I edit text in a text frame, the text, usually the entire block above and below the line I'm on will disappear. I have to move the frame up and down one point to get the text to come back. Then I edit more text, same thing, have to switch to selection tool, move text box or zoom in and out to fix the next word. I DOUBLE the time that it takes to edit text.

Whiteout = loss of text in the frame, momentarily. Constantly upon editing. Scroll up or down and the text immediately repopulates.... type very slowly -- like trying to avoid waking the beast -- and the text lasts longer before glitch... This is a very crummy situation. Adobe, whatsup?

I have the same issue and have flagged it before but with no success. It happens multiple times whilst editing text in a document and is incredibly frustrating.

This problem was reported in 2017. I'm using InDesign 2022 and it persists. It occurs randomly — and frequently — when I'm typing, also if I hit TAB or RETURN. The only way to see the text again is to scroll so that the text area is not visible, and then scroll back. Sometimes it will return if I zoom in or out. It occurs in text blocks and in tables.
These text blocks are nowhere near any images/objects, so text wrap is not the issue (in fact, they are set by default as 'no text wrap.'

I'm having this issue also. In previous versions on Intell mac I didn't have an issue but with M1 it is a problem. Please fix this. This is so annoying, and it is getting worse actually.

This seems to still be happening in the InDesign 2022 version. Any suggestions?

For the ones still suffering this issue;
It might not happen any longer if you uncheck: preferences > display performance > enable anti-aliasing
Anti-aliasing makes fonts appear more smooth on screen. For me this works, and even though the type looks like **** when editing, it doesn't dissappear.
I'm using the latest version of InDesign CC 2022 (17.0) on OSX Monterey.
It's a temporary fix. Adobe, I see in this forum's history that the issue has been coming and going for many people. Please fix asap!

Why is this issue "fixed" When I activate Overprint Preview?
I prefer not to work in this mode, but have to until it's solved.

Bug still present in pre-release ID 2022 Mainline_x17.1.0.28.
Anyone else who can please download the pre-release and if the bug is present follow this link to post a bug report: https://forums.adobeprerelease.com/indesign/discussion/2030/indesign-and-incopy-2022-17-1-0-28-builds-are-now-available-to-download
If more of us do this Adobe might finally recognise that this serious bug actually exists.

Unfortunately the font cache solution didn't work.
Text still disappears randomly.
I cannot believe that Adobe can't reproduce this issue on an M1 Mac and find a fix.

Please, Adobe, fix this... How am I supposed to work on documents that are over 80 pages long like this? Every edit, every change the text disappears... This needs to be solved! Please. You can do it!
