Place multi-page PDF pages: Place Gun will be unloaded after first page is placed to a frame
New bug with InDesign 17.2 that I cannot see with InDesign 17.1.
[1] Load multiple PDF pages from a multi-page PDF to the place gun.
[2] Hover the loaded cursor over a graphic frame to place the first page in that frame
[3] Click to place the first page.
Result:
The first page is placed to the frame
BUG: The rest of the loaded PDF pages in the place gun are unloaded. The place gun is empty after you placed the first of several pages to a frame.
WHAT WORKS:
[1] Load multiple PDF pages from a multi-page PDF to the place gun.
[2] Draw out new frames with the loaded cursor to place one page after another

We've just released InDesign 17.2.1 version which fixes this issue.
Please update to this latest version using CCD.

Same issue: choosing All or Range only places 1st page. Other pages in document are not available to place. Have to select and place each individual page.

v17.2
With new update for InDesign placing multipage .ai or .pdf files into document isn't placing all pages. Choosing All or Range doesn't work. Only places first page in the multipage document.
Have to choose and place each page individually.
Previous versions were able to place all pages in document.
We use this option many times a day. Thank you for a quick fix! -

FWIW: Placing Illustrator files with multiple artboards are also affected by the bug.
Placing InDesign documents with multiple pages are NOT.Regards,

Here comes a crude work around:
Place the multi-page PDF on InDesign pages automatically using a script like this one:https://github.com/mike-edel/ID-MultiPageImporter/releases
Save the InDesign document.
Place the InDesign document pages instead of the PDF pages.
That still is working with previously drawn out graphic frames.Regards,

Same issue here! Click on a multi-page pdf to place in predefined frames, only first page is placed.
Works if I redraw all frames one by one...
Help!

InDesign doesn't properly allow use to place multiple paged pdfs into multiple frames. On Mac, this works, but on PC after you place the first page into a frame, the rest disappear (from beside your cursor) and you can no longer place more. I know how to select import options and place all or selected ranges of pages from a pdf. I also know about the placemultipage script but this places them onto new pages and not into the frames. This issue has also been tested with 2 of my coworkers and they also have this issue only for PC.

I used to be able to select a frame and use the place function (cmd+P) to add an image to that frame. Now when placing images, it automatically creates a new frame.
