When I went to save the file, it took me into a folder I haven't saved anything into for 2 years. Even worse, I COULD NOT direct it to the folder where the 2020 file resided that I had just opened in 2021. I had to save it into the wrong folder, then drill down to where InDesign insisted on saving it and drag from there into the folder where the file was before I opened it. Is this an improvement? I think I need to uninstall the new version and reinstall 2020. I've worked in 2021 for all of one hour and it's pure frustration. All I needed to do was change two words, and the multiple glitches I encountered make that take an hour.

Indesign does not save files created in the previous version to the location from which it was opened, but to the last folder used. It's pointless and uncomfortable.
Older versions of files do not even remember their name.

Windows 10 version here too. I have been spending far too much of my time trying to find files that have been saved to the wrong folder. Not to mention the embarrassment factor of sending out the wrong files to clients. Get it together Adobe, this is making us (and by extension you) look amateur!

It has been that way since Indesign 1.0.
All the same bugs as the past versions as far as I can see.
I would list them all here, but there is really no point. They remain, and just get added to, never fixed.

Costing us all time and money. Dear Adobe, will you issue InDesign users who upgraded and now can't downgrade a refund? Your "improved" version is getting us all in trouble with clients. NOT GOOD. What is taking so long?

Come on Adobe, this issue has been looked at for 4 months. Do you guys not use your programs in a working environment before you release them? It totally disrupts work flow.

Happening to me as well. I run a print shop and printing the older file that was in the customer folder has cost me a lot of money because I had to reprint the order with the correct file AFTER searching to find where it was.

This issue made print the wrong version from a file... Please investigate this...

Please Adobe, on my opinion only a few codelines are necessary to change this behavior. So why you do not provide a hotfix instead of collecting many bugs to fix it in a major update? You only have to compare those code lines to the previous versions and that's it. PLEASE provide a FAST Hotfix!

So annoying - the previous version was fine - why did they need to mess with it - please fix this soon. It is making a mess of my folders

So I saved a file, it went to the wrong folder, I've somehow clicked the name of the other file that was in there without realising, lost my entire file and had to create the whole job again from scratch - after the client had signed it off! Arggghhh!!!!!!
