InDesign 16.0 saves Converted files in last used folder, not containing folder
On Catalina OSX (10.15.7), InDesign 2021 (16.0) saves a Converted file to the last used Finder folder, rather than the folder the document is contained in.
Happens with 'Save As...', as well as saving InCopy assignments.
The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – version 16.0.1.
Please update to this version to get the fix.

once files were saved in the folder in which they were opened.
Now files are saved in the folder where the file that was previously opened was saved.
When you're working on different projects, this can be very frustrating.:1. InDesign 2021 (Windows 10 pro, 64 bit)
2. Open a File - Save the File - Open another File - Save the File ...
3. The file should be saved in the folder in which it was opened.
4. The file will be saved in the folder where the file that was previously opened was saved.

Same problem here with MacOS 10.17.7.. With version 15 i already had a server problem when saving and I was forced to save on the MacOS itself and now you have not done your work again. I understand that we can function as cheaply as beta testers, but hire people for that next time.

Same issue here (Windows) - please fix this as quick as possible, because it's very annoying. How is is it possible to publish a new version without having noticed such a bug? None of the programmers has been noticed this bug? And yes, it seems that we are more and more BETA testers - the same as with Premiere Pro. Less brand new terrific features at shorter time intervalls and more stability and performance improvements would be better.

YES! This is so annoying...we hit save so fast and assume it's going into the folder it was opened from...like it used to, but it doesn't, it goes in the last folder I had a completely different job opened in. Having just updated to 2021, I've done this about 12 times today cuz every file needs to be converted and saved. Why would they ever make it to save in a random folder and not the one it's opened from?!! So frustrating. Adobe, PLEASE fix this!!

When I click 'save as' instead of going to where I originally opened the file I'm working on, it goes to the location of the last file I was working on. Is there anyway to correct that (this is just since the 2021 update to InDesign)?

Why does the new version 2021 always save to last location saved? I open many InDesign files all day. When I save the files now, I have to search for the folder where I opened the InDesign file. On 2020 I always opened and saved right away. Then it would save and export files into that location. Now it sends me to the last location saved. Tried to look for a setting but nothing stands out. Any help would be great. Thanks.

In InDesign 2020 when saving an older version it always showed the folder from where I opened it.
In InDesign 2021 it goes to the folder, that I have recent activity in. Please fix. Thanks. -

And the paid for beta testing of Adobes products continues. I was just saying to my colleagues last night 'I wonder what's going to be broken in this new version?'
And the minute I start using the app, here we are. Ridiculous.

There used to be a setting in preferences, but I can't find it now. Seems to have disappeared. Super time waster.
