CEPHtmlEngine Helper
macOS Catalina 10.15.5. and InDesign. 15.1.1.
Massive problem with CEPHtmlEngine Helper. After a while, my MacBook Pro fan is running high and in the activity window, CEPHtmlEngine Helper is running between 90 and 100%. It is no fun to work with a system that runs crazy.
Why? Solution needed.

@amaarora Those do not help. In fact, those files don't exisit. Using CC 2020.

Hi, these steps are for CC 2015. Some folders aren’t existing anymore. So, you can’t use this to solve the problem.

I just deleted all the CEPHtmlEngine.app files using FindAnyFile by tempelmann. I'll let you know what happens. am so sick of adobe apps causing iMac w 24GB memory to go into virtual swap all the time as well as burning the memory. that much memory and the cc apps just keep getting more and more bloated.

Having the same issue - both on MacBook Pro AND iMac (2019), both now running Catalina. So its not a Macbook only issue. So the comment another user posted about Adobe Support telling them it was a device issue is NOT accurate.
Please, please, fix this. InDesign is a tool I use daily, and this is more than a simple inconvenience. It's truly a performance issue which should be high priority for their developers.

Use Little snitch and block the process. Solve my problem.

Same old, same old. I reported this bug years ago. Adobe, do something once for all. This is not acceptable.

Same problem caused both by InDesing and Illustrator (Catalina).
I've also checked the troubleshooting section on Adobe support website (https://helpx.adobe.com/en/x-productkb/global/high_cpu_usage_cephtmlengine.html) but the suggested solution doesn't work. -

I also have the same problem with CEPHtmlEngine and also after analyzing the process in the activity monitor it shows it is caused by Indesign 2020. Is there a fix for this? It is maxing out my memory and also 'preventing sleep' so screen saver wont run or my display sleep unless i prompt it to happen. Only started after i updated to 2020. If anyone knows of a fix please share!

Same issue here on Mojave 10.14.6 on Mac Mini.
Issue started after most recent CC update.

I can't believe they don't have a fix for this yet. I use InDesign every day and it's gotten to the point where I have to "give my machine breaks" in the middle of projects to give the fan a chance to spool down. Garbage!

Same 'CEPHtmlEngine Helper-problem' here. Also when my MacBook is syncing with Adobe Cloud the fan starts running very high.

I also have this problem on Catalina, since ID 2020 on my mac desktop.
I have tried the "fixes" from 2015 and they DONT WORK.
I have tried calling tech support and the first time, they told me it was typefaces slowing down InDesign.
Then they told me it's my computer. They wanted me to fix this problem, and I got so frustrated at them for not hearing me. The CEPHtmlengine thing is the worst. I wish i had stayed with my old ID CS5. I have also tried uninstalling ID and reinstalling it.
Is there a solution?
