Spell Check does not work after installing InDesign 15.0.2
Dear Adobe Team,
in our office we use In Design from several years without nothing problems.
Yesterday we had updated the version 15.0.2. After that, the spell-check (we use the Italian language) don’t work if we import text in a existing document.
But if we import text in a new document, the spell-check work without problems.
Please can you help us?
The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – that is, InDesign 15.0.3.
Please update your InDesign application to get the fix.

I have had the same issue under the same conditions. It seems to have started after I updated to 15.0.2. The fix, as far as my testing shows, is to select the Hunspell dictionary in Preferences > Dictionary … for EACH document. Also, dynamic spelling has to be turned off and on again after switching to Hunspell before it starts working.
Once Hunspell is set with no documents open, it appears to be the default for new documents.
Limited testing of the Proximity dictionary suggests that the spelling check stops working when the language set in Preferences differs from that set for a paragraph in a document.
I'm having the same issue with English. Can not force a spell check and dynamic spelling is not working.
This is quite frustrating! This feature is crucial in my line of work. Can we please have an update?
I have the same problem - spell check works fine with a new document, but not documents created in older versions, which most of our publications are. Please fix!
Almost a week and still no update. This is so frustrating and a causing real problems – I feel like a tightrope walker whose safety net has been removed!
Very inconvenient - such a basic feature to be broken.
Please fix!!! This is causing me issues all day long.
Spell check note working is a major issue at work. I see it's under review. I hope it gets resolved asap.
So there is a bug with Indesign 2020 causing Spell Check to not function.
This issue can be replicated by taking a file that was previously created in Indesign 2019 and opening it and saving in with Indesign 2020. Spell checking that document will not work. No matter what settings you try it doesn't recognize any of the text.
If you open the original document before converting it or working on it with 2020 spell check works perfectly.
You can also take a page from the 2020 document that isn't spell checking, Open a new file in 2020, cut and paste everything from that page and then spell check works.
The document behind in the attached screen shot is the cut and pasted page, showing spell check working. Both pages are in Indesign 2020.
This is a huge problem as you can't open 2020 files in 2019 without converting them, running spell check in 2019 and one by one going to the 2020 document and fixing each word. This is a total nightmare!
Spellcheck is such an essential function of indesign, PLEASE FIX THIS BUG ASAP!

I can't believe Adobe released a version with a bug like this. This is a "big deal" for people trying to get newsletters and projects completed. This needs to be fixed NOW.
Please fix this ASAP as we can't produce accurate documents right now and it is impacting our business.
Spellcheck isn't working at all with English: USA either. PLEASE patch this ASAP.
Same problem here
A fast turnaround on this would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Likewise! Would love to get the latest word on the bug update.

Same issue here using English UK dictionary. Tried resetting prefs etc. No joy.
I am having this issue also. Spellchecker is not working: UK English
I am having exactly the same experience too. Spellcheck refuses to work with new text in an old document, but does work if it's a brand-new document... and it spellchecks some older documents, but bizarrely not others... all very confusing. Very much looking forward to this bug being resolved!
