Exporting Emojis to PDF
I built a newsletter with the use of the new Apple Emoji "glyphs" in InDesign and when I went to export it as a PDF, it replaced my emojis with random images from my file.
I talked with Adobe support and learned that only vector emojis can be used in PDFs which is a bit frustrating! Can we update the PDF export capability to include these new emoji features, so we can use the glyphs like I think that they were intended? I'd be a happy camper!! Thank you in advance!

It is already fixed and available in CC 2019 builds.

I'm seeing the same issue in Illustrator when trying to export a doc containing emojis as a PDF.

Please try it out with the latest release and if even then you encountering the same issue, please share the documents with which you are facing the issue or just add a small video (on WeTransfer/Youtube/Dropbox) and share the link.
Please do mention your machine configuration like OS, Locale. You can also send files/links directly to paawasth@adobe.com.

I'm getting a slightly different error, but the end result is the same - can't use the apple color emoji font. I have written the details on how to reproduce this error here: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2561779
Short version: On a Mac OS 10.13.6 running IDCC2019, make a new document and add a text frame. To that text frame, select either the apple color emoji font or trajan color font and add some characters into the text frame. Then export the file to a PDF using any of these default settings:
[high quality print]
[pdf/x-4:2008]
[press quality]
[smallest file size]
A PDF will be created that - upon opening - produces an error message "Critical parser failure: XObject resource missing".
