Wrong menu gets expanded while clicking on an item on Menu bar in InDesign
When InDesign is opened on my second screen, I can't select anything on top menus.
InDesign CC 2017 on Windows 10
Hello All,
Thank you for your support all this while. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.
If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.
Let us know your feedback in the comment section.
Thanks,

Windows 10 has been launched since a few years ...
How is it possible that a software like InDesign still has this bug ?Any update ?

If I switch to a different monitor, the issue resolves itself. Main display (problem monitor) is 1366 x 768. Secondary (working monitor) is also 1366 x 768.

It's now April 12th; has this issue been resolved?
I was just upgraded to a new laptop running Windows 10 (old laptop was Windows 7), and I have this issue - so annoying!!

I have a user I support that just got the cloud suite and has this problem with InDesign only. Setting the text scaling the same on the laptop and the 2nd monitor gets around this, but is not a fix. It's not at all satisfactory to have to scale 2 differently sized screens the same. The user showed me how both Photoshop and Illustrator work fine regardless. This means someone on the InDesign development team needs to talk to the devs for either of the other two to see what they did.

When I select a pull down menu on my dreaded PC, the selected pull down menu closes and another one opens. FIX ASAP.

Happening to me as well. File is the only menu that doesn't have any issues.

Ditto the comments below. Please let us know when it's fixed. Using a second larger screen essential for my Indesign work. I'm surprised this bug survived pre-release QC...

I use two screens and I run ID CC 2018.
In W10 Display, Scale and layout: 125%
Both ID on screen 1 and 2: 1920 x 1200, when I go with my mouse from the left over the menu's, File, Edit and Layout are fine, and then every menu shows the menu to the right of it. When I start from the right, the same applies.
When I use Scale and display 100% everything works fine, but this shows a font too small. -

I also am experiencing this on a LG 34' extra wide monitor. I have the display setting to only display on second monitor and the menus are also offset. This really, really slows down production tremendously. Please fix ASAP!

A colleague and I have experienced the same issue, using high-res Microsoft Surface Pro 4's.

A colleague and I have experienced the same issue on super high-res Microsoft Surfaces. A restart banishes the issue for a while, but it always comes back...

I recently upgraded to a pair of 4k monitors. I find that most things work correctly so far with the exception of some of the drop-down menus in inDesign. I refer to the 'View' menu. When placing the cursor on the View menu, the drop-down menu opens normally. When I try to slide down the menu to choose an option, it changes to the Table Menu. I can access the items in the View menu if i use the cursor keys.

This is happening to me too. It only happens on my new ThinkPad with 2560x1440 resolution, not on a lower resolution machine. What resolution does your display have?

When using InDesign CC 2018 (although this appeared in previous version for me to), my mouse fails to align with the pop-down menu bar (File, Edit, Layout etc.). It only occurs with InDesign and no other CC product. It's super frustrating!
I've attempted to rejig the UI scaling and various combinations of the UI preferences, but nothing seems to change it.
See the attached video for what I am describing.

I have a ThinkPad with 2560x1440 resolution.
When running at 100% review, the menus are offset -- meaning that when
I click my mouse over "window" in the menu bar, the menu for "object" opens up instead.Even at 150%, there is an offset, though less.

This happens consistently for me as well, ONLY in InDesign on Win10-Pro.

Same over here .. only when I use my secondary screen (from a laptop) using version 13.0.1 x64 very annoying.
When I make my secondary display the main display (windows control panel\display \ select for display 2 "Make this my main display), then the menu structure works fine for all menu items, else (when the on board display is the main display, then menus " File", "Edit" and "Layout" jump (when trying to select one of the sub menus) to the dropdown of the "Window" menu -

When I open a file in InDesign, if I select the "File" drop down menu, it immediately disappears and the "Windows" dropdown menu gets pulled down.
As a result, the FILE dropdown menu is completely USELESS.. Please fix this BUG immediately.
