I've recently upgraded to a MS Surface Pro 4, and am having some very serious display issues with InDesign (and InDesign only.)
I'm using CC2018, v13.0.1 x 64
1. Pages Panel
- My page master thumbnails have disappeared
- Pages do not align correctly (set to display vertically in the attached screenshot)
- Cannot scroll to the bottom see the rest of pages
- Tools missing at bottom of pages panel
2. Layers Panel
- Selection dots are missing, can't select individual objects without right clicking in the panel
3. Swatches Panel
- Can't scroll all the way to the bottom of the available swatches
- Tools are missing at bottom of panel
4. Background Tasks Panel
- Can't cancel a task, button is cut off
These issues are making it very hard for me to do my job, please help!
I have this issue after changing to Microsoft Surface - it is a massive problem!
I also can't see the bottom of the swatches panel, and the selection dots in the layers panel.

Thank you for your patience all this while; we really appreciate your support!
Our investigation suggests that one of common reasons for the problem is that certain software (mostly antivirus and other security applications) and browser extensions happen to enable “Secure Keyboard Entry” on Mac machines due to which some keys such as Shift key in this case do not perform the desired action in InDesign.
For now I request you to follow the below provided KB doc for the quick workaround of the problem.
In the comments section many of the users have confirmed that disabling Webroot SecureAnywhere (a security app) has resolved the issue for them. Please note that, the problem may not be related to a particular software; there could be a different application or antivirus which might be causing the problem by enabling Secure Keyboard Entry on Mac.
What computer are you using?
I am having the same issue on Microsoft Surface Pro 4 - did not experience this issue previously on my desktop. It also hides the bottom of my swatches panel (can't scroll or see tools at bottom of swatches panel), and hides the thumbnails of my master pages in the pages panel.
Thank you for your support all this while. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.
If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.
Let us know your feedback in the comment section.
A colleague and I have experienced the same issue, using high-res Microsoft Surface Pro 4's.
A colleague and I have experienced the same issue on super high-res Microsoft Surfaces. A restart banishes the issue for a while, but it always comes back...

I used to be able to paste a grouped object (for example, an image with a bit of text overlayed on it, banner style) into a graphic cell in a table. Currently this is not working - I can put a regular image (just a linked image) into a graphic cell, but as soon as I try to "paste into" a copied grouped object, it does not even offer paste into as an option.
I gather this functionality was removed while fixing a different issue - but it's something we use regularly at my company.
This is definitely something we use frequently - is this functionality something that can be resurrected?
Please update InDesign to the latest version, InDesign CC 2018 (13.0) for the fix of the issue.
