  2. [ID-4271100]With Application Frame "OFF", Green Maximize Button Doesn't Zoom to Fit Anymore

    OSX 15.7.1

    Just updated ID and all the previous docs I've been working on today, are opening in huge windows. It takes a few resizes to scale down the window, then grabbing the bottom right corner to resize the window finally, it's jumping away from the cursor.

    Resizing windows when tiling still does that (as per the previous version/bug), which is also super annoying. Please fix all these bugs!! It's like no one at Adobe uses these products

  3. [ID-4272869] InDesign adds Blank space to top during PNG export for converted documents

    I booted up 2026 (version 21.0) and opened a file that I was working on literally yesterday. I have a text box over a solid fill background shape. When I exported them both together yesterday, it worked as expected. Today, it exports with an obnoxious blank space (or filled space if I uncheck "Transparent Background") at the top.

    Absolutely nothing changed with the file, it's just happening in 2026 and not in 2025. Comparison attached.

    Workaround: Export the document to IDML

  4. [ID-4272089]Grouped objects does not go back to original layers when ungrouped if 'Ungroup Remembers Layer' is enabled

    1. Version of Adobe InDesign is v21.0
    2. Create several layers, put an object on each layer, make sure that 'Ungroup Remembers Layers' is checked, group all objects, and ungroup.
    3. Expected result: all objects remain on the layer they were on before they were grouped.
    4. Actual results: all objects are on the top layer or the highest layer on which there was an object that was within the group

    In my opinion this should be treated as a hotfix. This is ruining the workflow and messes up the files that then need to either be fixed or rolled back to previous versions.…

  5. [ID-4272086]TAB indents are getting removed on dragging the left side

    Good morning, I updated InDesign to version 21 and I'm having problems with the tab stops on both PCs. In the tab settings, if I set three tab stops, for example, the first at 10 cm, the second at 20 cm, and the third at 30 cm, if I move the first one, the other two disappear.
    With the beta version, there were no problems. I tried resetting the preferences, but nothing. A technician connected and checked the problem. He said to report the bug.

  6. Tiny bug within the German UI: GREP style sub menu is missing "aus"

    Please add the German word " aus" (more correct: a space and the word aus) after "Mehrere Zeilen" in the GREP style sub menu within the German InDesign.

    This " aus" (= "off") is missing since at least v2016!

    Screenshot 1 shows the english version, srceenshot 2 how it should look like in German(of course not in red color).

  7. [ID-4265787]InDesign 20.4.0 and above freezes when connected with Enterprise VPN

    Impossible to work with the latest version of InDesign 20.5. The screen freezes after a few second work. Only "end task" on Task manager is closing the program. (Working on PC under Windows 11 Enterprise)
    Only solution in the meantime is to switch to Version 19.5.5.

  8. [ID-4270655] Align to Bleed issue

    The Align to Bleed function works incorrectly for certain bleed situations.
    If a facing-page document has an Inside bleed smaller than the other sides, (e.g Top: 1p6, Bottom: 1p6, Inside 0p, Outside 1p6) the Align to Bleed will left-align objects to this smaller bleed instead of the correct outer dimension. This does not seem to affect right-aligning.

  9. [ID-4265137] Can't override the keyboard shortcut (shift-e) for GPU preview

    Go to Keyboard Shortcuts, to View > GPU Preview toggle and delete the Default context shift-e shortcut (as it's already used in my set for Reveal in Bridge). Save, works fine for that session, forgets next restart.

  10. [ID-4263189][CPU Mode][MAC]Selection of objects does not register immediately

    I am trying to use the new 2025 version of InDesign - but it is really unusable. Running latest version (20.3) on Macos (15.4). Mac Studio with M2 Max CPU and 32 GB memory.

    One major issue I am having is that when I select a text box, it will actually not select the box until I move the mouse again. I click the box and nothing happens. When I start moving the mouse - it suddenly gets selected. If I do not move the mouse - nothing is selected - until I move the mouse. This makes it impossible…

  11. [ID-4262670][ERROR(RSC-005) in EPUB Checker]InDesign 20.3 creates target attributes to every link in EPUB

    The latest InDesign version (20.3) creates target="_blank" attributes to every link when exported as EPUB. Doesn't matter if the link contains URL or it's a link from a text anchor. The latest EPUB Check version (5.2.1) gives an error with every link that doesn't have href attribute which means every text anchor is invalid.

    For example:
    <h1 id="_idParaDest-1" class="Header-1"><a id="_idTextAnchor000" target="_blank"></a>Foreword</h1>

    In EPUB Check this is an error:
    ERROR(RSC-005): Error while parsing file: element "a" missing required attribute "href"

  12. [ID-4260027] “Change Case” option does not refresh when opening saved search

    “Change Case” option does not refresh when opening saved search
    When a “Change Case” option is set on the GREP tab of the Find/Change dialog, it remains active until it is manually cleared or InDesign is restarted. This is a problem since it means that saved searches are producing unexpected results. Other options in the “change format” refresh as expected, so this appears to be a bug. It is especially problematic when running a chain of GREP searches because incorrect capitalization can result in numerous errors.

  13. [ID-4260022][ExtendScript] Folder.prototype.create fails on macOS/InDesign 20.1

    Something has broken in ExtendScript's Folder.prototype.create method on MacOS and Indesign 20.1.

    To test yourself, save the following script to your disk, and run it in Indesign.

    Under certain conditions, the second letter after the opening letter in a word vanishes. This issue affects the appearance and natural flow of the text.

    InDesign 2025 workspace resets to basic/essentials every time i open the program or another document. I have a workspace saved and the program is not honoring that.

  16. [ID-4255870] Document Fonts available even if not active

    Working on an indesign document that has its own “Document Fonts” folder that contains fonts specific to that document (not activated anywhere else), then switching to a new document that does not have any “Document Fonts” folder, the fonts of the previous document are still available, but if I close indesign completely and then reopen the new document the fonts are no longer available.

    This is not correct, fonts that are not activated or not present in the “Document Fonts” folder specific to that document, should not be available for other documents that do not reside in the same folder.

  17. [ID-4258070]Disappearing Punctuation Marks in Hebrew RTL Justified Text in Exported PDF

    Impact: Severe disruption to Hebrew text layout workflow and document integrity

    Bug Description

    Punctuation marks are randomly disappearing in justified Hebrew text blocks (RTL direction), specifically at:
    - Paragraph endings
    - Forced line breaks
    - Last lines of justified paragraphs

    Technical Context

    • Text Direction: Right-to-Left (RTL)
    • Language: Hebrew
    • Text Alignment: Justified

    Affected Punctuation Marks

    • Periods (.)
    • Semicolons (;)
    • Commas (,)
    • Colons (:)

    Specific Behavior in RTL Context

    1. When Hebrew text is set to justified alignment, punctuation marks vanish:
      • At the end of paragraphs
      • Before forced line breaks
    2. Exception: Punctuation marks remain visible if the last line is…

  18. [ID-4256710]InDesign 20.0 is unable to open INDD files without any error or alert

    InDesign 20.0 can't open some files - they start to open and then the process is just somehow cancels and nothing happens. No error - you can try again but the files doesn't open.

    I have macOS 15.1 on a 2.4GHz 8-core Intel Core i9 macBook Pro

  19. [ID-4257175]Pages Panel: Buttons are hidden behind page number text when window is thin

    When the pages panel is as thin as possible, the buttons such as delete page are behind the text that says the number of pages. It is therefore not possible to click on the buttons. I always use this panel in a thin band, and it is now less practical.

  20. [ID-4256670]InDesign crashes while navigating through Parent Pages in Pages Panel

    InDesign 20.0

    Click on the first parent page in the panel and use option + page down to navigate. When you reach a parent page that is not used in the document, you can go no further.

    Click the last parent in the panel and use option + page up to navigate. Either the selection jumps to the first parent page in the panel or InDesign crashes.
