[ID-4285792] Saving as idml changes table column widths
InDesign version 21.5.1 ME saving as idml changes table column widths.
We are using Windows 11 Pro. Coworkers have the same issues.
The fix for this issue is available in the latest InDesign 2026 release, version 21.6
Please update your version of InDesign when this new release becomes available in your locale.

Unfortunately beta version 21.6.0.23 (standard edition) didn't fix the issue in my case (Mac Ventura, Intel)
I have simple table with 6 rows, 4 columns.
First row is merged. After reimporting idml first column changes width to 40 pts (14.111 mm was 38mm). Remaining colums are unaffected (26mm).
Export and importing back was done in v.21.6I'll add more details/examples later if necessary.
Is this appropriate version or am I missing something?

Same here. I had to roll back from InDesign v21.5.1 to v21.4.1. I'm using Macbook Pro (M3 Pro).

Same here. Same with my colleagues. Same with our vendors. We all had to downgrade.
Windows 11. InDesign 21.5.1.
We tested on a blank document. Happend only in the idml exported file. Happened only if some cells were merged in a table and the width of a column was different from the others.

Same on Mac Intel in standard edition (not ME) 21.5.1
Interestingly last edition of v 20.5.5 also seems to have this issue (to confirm).Bug not present in versions 21.3, 21.4.1 -- downgraded.
[good thing to keep in mind after downgrade is to uncheck Auto AI Generating All Alt Texts in Preferences, as this option resets (this option was absent in version 20 and preferences seem to be imported from older version of the app)]
