When using “Paragraph Borders and Shading” on a frame grid, it is incorrect to base them on the grid attributes possessed by the frame grid
InDesign Version CC2018 or newer
“Paragraph Borders and Shading” are usually generated based on the outline of the glyphs in the paragraph to which they are applied.
This is true even if they are grid-aligned on a text frame (Figure 1-a, right).
However, when the same settings are made on a frame grid, for some reason, they are generated based on the grid attributes of the frame grid, not the glyph outlines.
This always occurs based on the grid attribute of the frame grid, regardless of whether the text in the frame grid is grid-aligned or not (Figure 1-a left).…

Adobe Caslon Pro: Glyph as bullet does not function
InDesign version 18.2.1 (Windows 10 x64). I would like to use a glyph as a bullet (the opentype digit 3 of Adobe Caslon Pro - an acorn). In the paragraph style box for my "Bulleted list" style, I am trying to add the bullet. When I click "add" and then click "ok," a standard round black dot appears in my list of bullet characters to choose from. If I try to add my preferred glyph (or any of the other opentype glyphs from the font's set, for that matter), the program tells me: "The selected bullet already appears in the…

Paragraph Border rendering is filled in black -- randomly.
For two years now, paragraphs with double lines and a fill between the lines render as solid black randomly when building PDF output for printing. It's usually the first paragraph border that is rendered incorrectly, and if the PDF is recreated again and again, eventually an error-free PDF is produced.
See attached screencap.

InDesign CC2023 forces paragraph in overset
Since the update to InDesign v18.0 (CC2023) the first line of a Paragraph with custom Bullet (Numbering) text, gets forced in overset when the first word is longer than 8-9 characters. They don't flow to the next paragraph and there is still enough space to keep the word in the Text Frame.
In the example you'll see two Text Frames with one with the word "Duurzaamheid" cut in two and the second in overset with no space between "Duur" and "zaamheid" wich forces everything in overset. In InDesign 17.4 everything works as desired. Uploading an InDesign-file was not possible so…6 votesFix for this issue is now available in the latest release of InDesign 2023 - that is, InDesign 18.1 version.
Please update to this version of InDesign to get the fix.

Clustered QR Code
The QR codes are very clustered making them nearly impossible to scan. It would be helpful to have a QR Styles option or more options for editing the density of the QR code. It would also be great to have ability to add a Logo or image to the center of a QR code.

Hello,
I am contacting you regarding a problem with the new version of InDesigns’ (version 18.0).
The problem is that using the "Bullet or Number position" in “Paragraph style options” to change the size of a column in a table, results in the text disappearing. Please check out the PDF and the video (in comment) below for further explanations.
Looking forward to your comments/feedback.

bug: stroke and fill not showing / error
Fill and stroke is not showing when I create a shape / use a template that already has a shape in it.
Additionally, images held in frames with those effects don't show correctly - when opening a file the placeholder frame which has an image in it will then show with a. white fill over the image, and no stroke effect.
However, when you export as a .pdf all the file looks fine.2 votes -
disappearing text paragraph style
I am using InDesign 17.4 under macOS 12.6 on an iMac Retina 5K, 27", 2017 with a 3.4 GHz i5, 32GB RAM, and a Radeon Pro 570.
When I attempt to create a new paragraph style with an active text selection and check 'Apply Style to Selection', any change I make to the new paragraph style, including simply naming the style, renders the text invisible.
The expected result, of course, would be to have visible text.
The actual result is invisible text.
Relaunching ID, restarting the computer, and rebuilding the preferences file all had no effect. The only workaround I…

"Büyük/Küçük Harf Değiştir"
Sayın Adobe Yetkilisi,
ÖNERİ:
"Karakter stilleri" ve Paragraf stilleri" ayarlarında, "Büyük/Küçük Harf Değiştir" seçenekleri olmalı. Stillere verebileceğimiz "Büyük/Küçük Harf Değiştir" ayarları ile işimiz daha da kolaylaşacak.
Teşekkürler, iyi çalışmalar...

Bug with paragraph borders across multiple textboxes.
Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server

optical margin alignment
Optical Margin Alignment does not work in a tabbed hanging indent, but it should. In the examples provided I want the copy quotes to be offset by the optical margin alignment, but they are counted as a character and disrupt the look of the hanging indent (example 01). If I move the hanging indent to the right side of the quotes it fixes the problem for the current paragraph, but the next paragraph aligns with the tab and quote, not with the above hanging paragraph (example 02).

GREP Tab Issue
I created a GREP style to make Title Caps part of the style and I needed it to do this after a tab. That wouldn't work, but I got it work backwards.
An unexpected side effect is that when you copy and paste from the PDF I created, it makes every letter next to "T" also capitalized. It's treating the shortcode for tab "\t" like it's trying to hone in on "T" and also like tab. It looks fine until you copy and paste.

avoid incorrect sentence breaks
Hello, on your next in design update, I suggest an improvement that would be very useful for correct typographic formatting! For the formatting of a flagged text, it would be nice to be able to prevent line breaks before a two/three letter word, to avoid that the pronoun is separated from the subject (ex: "the" (line break) "house", to have "the house" on one line. I hope you will be able to add this feature, which I think is essential. Thanking you for your help
