2. Shared CC Library

   The WHOLE purpose of a "SHARED CC LIBRARY" is to be able to keep a single and universal source of truth for EVERY element within the library across all uses of the element – on all files.

   There is an issue achieving this.

   When I add an illustrator file to the CC Shared Library from within Indesign, and I go to edit that element, it:

   Opens a new InDesign file, where you can make the change,
   save the change, and the change is displayed on the thumbnail of the shared element, and does in fact update the shared element.

   HOWEVER....

   It does not update the element displayed on the InDesign file you're working on!

   If The same illustrator file is added to the shared library FROM Illustrator directly, then when you double click on that element in the shared library from within InDesign, it will open IN Illustrator where you can make your changes, and when you save it, it also AUTOMATICALLY updates every instance where that element is used across ALL shared files.

   This doesn't;t make any sense. It should not matter how you add the element to the library, IF the library accepts the element.

   There is another glitch that even makes this more confusing.

   If I have multiple items on a page in InDesign, and I group them together and drag the group over to the CC Shared library, The Library "accepts" the group.

   Then, when you double click the element, it opens a new page in InDesign.

   when you go to edit the text in InDesign – Text that was created FROM INDESIGN, and save your change, it updates the Library element BUT does not update any instance where that is used.

   Again, this doesn't make any sense and seems to defeat the purpose of storing universal items in the library.

3. Uservoice page bug

   The uservoice page, when posting or updating an idea/bug report would not accept attachments where the extension is in capital letters, such as the Windows Snipping tool would save them when creating screenshots. Means, a file with appendix *.PNG is not accepted, but one with *.png is.

   That's stupid programming!

5. imported excel number spaces are replaced with an 'Ê' on Mac

   I'm on a Macbook pro M1, working on an InDesign file. I get some XLSX files with tables containing numbers in them, and when I place them into my document, all spaces between numbers are replaced with an 'Ê'.

   e.g. 123 456 789 will be placed as 123Ê456Ê789.

   I've asked someone to test it out on windows and it does not happen. I belive it is a IOS issue only....?

6. animation

   I have a big problem with the animations in Indesign. I inserted two new pages in my document and Indesign changed the complete order of the animations for me. Does anyone know the problem and can give help

7. Printing Number 10 Envelope - Left side of envelope margins are not respected

   When envelope media is selected, I lose some of the leftmost characters. If I only change the media to letter(8.5x11 inch) media, the characters appear as expected.

   Windows 10. Indesign 17.0 x64 from the ABOUT Indesign screen.

8. Type 1 error when opening InDesign file not reflected in Find/Replace Fonts window

   I now regularly get a pop-up blue box error message regarding Type 1 fonts in the files I'm working in. Example: "Your document contains 6 Type 1 fonts." However, if I open Find/Replace Font dialoge, the summary at top of window says "Type 1 fonts : 0". That error message is annoying AND incorrect -- unless the Find/Replace Fonts window is incorrect. Can these be updated to align their messages?
   I'm using InDesign v.17.0.1. on Windows 10 Enterprise

10. Display bug – garbled font randomly show up

    Font display bug – garbled font weirdness

    InDesign 16.4 on macOS Big Sur 11.5.1

    When flipping through pages I get this strange font display issue. See screenshots.
    It happens randomly. Not on every page but at least once every 10 pages.

    I can simply turn preview on and off or go to the next page and back to make the page behove normally again but this should not be necessary.

    This happens with all fonts.
    This happens every day.
    This happens on my colleagues computers as well. They are running various versions of indesign of various version of MacOS.
    This has been happening in at least the last three or four versions of InDesign.

    And, yes, we have tried resetting preferences, restarting, reinstalling, etc

    Any explanation for this stange behaviour?

12. Error when exporting to Rich Text Format (*.rtf)

    Adobe InDesign 17.0.1 x64

    When exporting a Story's text to Rich Text Format (*.rtf), if there are Endnotes in this Story, the notes will not be exported.
    To export notes you need to convert Endnotes to Footnotes, however there is also an error when converting Endnotes to Footnotes.
    When converting Endnotes to Footnotes all text attributes (bold, italic, etc) that exist in the notes will be lost.
    If the attribute is placed in the note via a character style, for example a character style that only puts italics, the italic will be preserved but as text exported to .rtf will be used for a web post, the character style it will not be recognized and the italics will eventually be lost.
    It should be possible to export Endnotes to .rtf and also converting Endnotes to Footnotes should not lose the text attributes that are in the note.

    I cannot use the selection button to change the size of an image or a text. Before I used to take that tool and by clicking on alt and maj i could change the size of image and text
    Now, I can only change the size of my image or text with the manual transformation tool.

15. Share for review - Filters don't work for those who commented

    When I filter by a reviewer, I only get the edits that were posted first by that person. If they commented on someone else's edit, the filter will not pull those up.

16. save as, export with USB C Adapter not working

    when using USB C adapter e.g. for external monitor i can´t save as or export. when i unplug the dialog window is showing but not working. (empty. see screenshot) when i close and reopen indesign save as and export ist working. plug in adapter: not working.

17. Cross-reference doesn't find all instances of a ¶ style

    When I try to insert or edit a cross-reference, InDesign finds only about half the instances with the specified ¶ style, so I can't insert the needed cross-ref.

18. Can't rename object in 2022

    Same issue like here, but posting this again to get a response to this, because the response below that post is a big joke. The admin assumes that the bug report is too stupid to rename an object. But the gif clearly shows that 1. the admin hat the window arranged differently and 2. in the gif with the bug you see the rename window flickering.

    I did the work adobe should do and tested it a bit.

    The result is different depending on if the windows is floating, docked or expanded. Float and expand works, dock not.

    I have this issue on the latest ID version 17.0.1 on multiple macs.
    M1 Mac with Big Sur
    Intel Mac with Catalina
    Intel Mac with Big Sur

    So if it's still not clear: You can't rename an object (although you can rename layers) when the layers panel is docked to the side. The rename "box" appears for a short time and instantly disappears again. This does not happen when the window is expanded or floating!
