We have here big troubles with export, saving AND and placing in Indesign AND Illustrator.
Since Update on CC18 and High Sierra, everytime we want to open/save/place a document, all aliases are greyed out. (connection to server)1 vote
For the last week or so, I have not been able to open InDesign. It seems it is the only Adobe programme causing me problems.
I've tried uninstalling and installing InDesign - nothing happens. I've sent a few bug reports, but haven't received any answer to how I get the programme to work.1 vote

I've found this to be an issue ever since I first started using indesign 3 years ago. Sometimes when shift selecting objects, other random objects that you have already selected will unselect themselves. For example, I am selecting 4 random objects on my spread, I select 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, and object 2 unselects itself when I selected object 41 vote
- Latest Indesign on Windows 10 (1709)
- Open document, open bookmark panel
- Show all bookmarks correctly
- Bookmarks are randomly cut in the middle of letters
- Screenshot attached.
Info: the INDD file was made in ID CS6 and now opened in ID CC, then saved. TOC and bookmarks have been recreated after this, but the problem remains. The weird thing is, this suddenly happened today. I've been using CC since 11-30-17 and before today it was OK.1 vote
- InDesign 2015, 2017 and 2018 on Mac OS (only on Mac. Works on Windows)
- Run the sample script "ImageCatalog.jsx". When the save dialog opens create a new folder. Name the folder by pasting a text using cmd+v.
- Any copied text would be expected to be pasted to name the folder.
- Nothing happens. But if you right click and choose "Paste" it works fine.

This is specific use that may not apply to most users, but it did work in previous versions. In Indesign 13.0.1, create a file that uses the file name text variable and then place this document into another document. The text variable should show the name of the file minus the file extension, and it shows correctly in the first file. But when you place the ID file into another file, the extension shows. This worked in previous versions of ID and caught me by surprise when it didn't work in the latest version, forcing me to use the additional step of exporting the first file as a PDF and replacing the linked document with that. This may seem minor, but I do quite a few of these and the extra step is time consuming.

Issue has been fixed in InDesign’s latest update, Id 13.1
Please update your InDesign for the resolution of the problem.
The mp4s did work in indd 2017 and they do still in epub preview. I made identical indd files in 2017 and 2018 and placed several MP4s in both. they all worked in 2017 but in 2018 when activated by a click, button, or controller the poster disappears and the mp4 doesn’t play.
This happened at school some students were working on the classroom 2017 macs and others their own 2018 windows and mac laptops the test I ran was on windows 101 vote
Please update to InDesign’s latest update, Id 13.1 for the fix of the problem.
Version : Indesign CC 2018
Steps to reproduce the issues :
- create a XML file with a InDesign table and two cells (see attached file)
- in first cell add a image
- in second cell add a text
- in a InDesign document, place the structure root tag in a textframe
- import XML file in structure
- BUG : the style in the first cell is missing (because there is a image)
- if you doesn't place the root tag in a textframe before importing the file, the XML file is loaded correctly1 vote
Upon upgrading from CC2017 to CC2018, I am unable to data merge images. Opened previous files and the link PDF (image of QR Code) will not display.
I've re-installed 2017 and problem is solved.1 vote
Has Adobe changed the cursor icon?1 vote
If I'm missing something I'd like to know. Otherwise, I'm tired of having to recreate these templates every time there's an update.
InDesign says it performed the action (multiple space to single space, remove trailing whitespace, etc) but looking in the document nothing changed.1 vote

Title: Splash screen/Startup Screen won't go away.
Description: Whenever InDesign is launched by a script the splash screen stays open indefinitely.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Quit InDesign
2) Make a new AppleScript, with the content:
"tell application "Adobe InDesign CC 2017"
3) Run the script
Result: InDesign launches, but the splash screen never close
Expected result: InDesign should launch, but the splash screen should hide, once the launch is completed.1 vote
Please update InDesign to the latest version, InDesign CC 2018 (13.0) for the fix of the issue.
I used to love being able to quickly switch to a visual look at my recent files and then load one and it would go back to my previous workspace... Its now gone!!!! Upsetting....1 vote
I'm having a GREP issue in InDesign CC2017.1, I tried saving three different GREP queries but it saved the first one three times. I tried about three times to go back and correct the other two, but it would just remain the first GREP query. It seemed to only affect the Find field, what I saved in the Change field seemed to be fine. The only way I could get them all to save correctly was to physically go into the GREP XML files and enter my GREP query and save. I'm using OSX 10.10.51 vote
The new Indesign "add text" tutorial on the Adobe site has the incorrect practice files linked to it. I'd like to be able to download the correct files to work with. Thank you.1 vote
