Crash on save, all work lost
Version 16.0.1 x64
Working on an existing document. Nothing out the the norm. Just basic single-user InDesign. Upon save, it said the "document needed to be repaired and some unsaved changes might be lost". Well it lost everything and I lost 2 hours of work. I think InDesign is becoming like the old Quark XPress where you had to hit Ctrl-S like a rabid monkey to save your work from loss.
It might be just like this forum "Post Idea" it says you're not logged in, and then you lose everything you typed.

Command-N for "New Folder" within "Save" dialogue box doesn't work
This is a bug – or at least, it doesn't adhere to the Mac standard for commands for "new folder." Such basic commands seem to fall by the wayside for flashy new features – but, why? It impedes workflow.
It hasn't worked for a number of versions.

Autosave issues? More frequent spinning beach ball for 15-20 seconds - unable to do anything
I assume this is related to Autosave because it only happens in Adobe products. I just upgraded to Big Sur (another buggy and annoying "upgrade") and the spinning beach ball happens twice as often now, and it lasts almost twice as long.
It's so f*cking annoying because I'm unable to do anything. It just happened and lasted 20 grueling seconds.
I bought a new MacBook Pro (late 2019) and I've never had more annoying bugs and intrusive, workflow-killing weirdness going on in the 15 years I've been using both. Apple blames Adobe and Adobe blames Apple.

Keyboard shortcuts do not work at startup
All keyboard shortcuts — including cmd-K for Preferences and cmd-N for New Document no longer work at program startup. They become functional again after a document is created or opened. Please restore this functionality.

Keyboard Shortcut for Type Tool
Using the keyboard shortcut for Type Tool activates tool for a second then it switches to Selection Tool automatically making it very frustrating to layout and adjust text boxes.

InDesign 2021 will not open and can't uninstall
After I installed the 2021 version of InDesign, it stopped functioning. It will not open and won't uninstall (all attempts through Creative Cloud and Windows have failed in errors).

Verifying "Adobe InDesign 2021"
Since updating to 2021 versions of Creative Cloud applications, there's a persistent 'Verifying "Adobe _____ 2021" message that pops up frequently.
Once you see these, you can't get rid of them. A restart is required.
The version is the latest version (16.0.2)
Steps to reproduce: Update and then open InDesign
Expected result: InDesign opens normally, verifies and the verification message disappears
Actual result: The verification message never goes away. The cross icon doesn't work.

Font no longer recognized. FIX NOW......
Prior to the InDesign 16.0.2 update, fonts worked fine. Now - fonts I've used for years (such as Futura Extra Bold) no longer work.
This needs to be fixed. NOW..

when creating new document the bottom of that window doesn't appear
I just downloaded Indesign but when creating new document the bottom of that window doesn't appear, so can't press "Create"

spinning ball
mac mid 18, os 10.15.7, indesign 2021 (16.0.1).
spinning ball coming every now and then … not able to reproduce, behaviour is arbitrary. but happens often when needing to do something creative or fast, which then is always VERY annoying to wait. I wish you could solve that behaviour or REALLY rework indesign, since it seems to hapen to a lot of other people too.

Upside down graphics in CC library Indesign version 16.0.2
I am trying to click and drag graphics from my document into a CC library and while the graphic is added, it is added upside down. When I double click on the graphic a new document opens up with just the graphic and it is once again upside down.

Presentation mode does not show latest text
This has been happening intermittently across the last several versions of indesign:
When entering presentation mode, I am shown an outdated version of my page. It is as if there is some kind of rendered page view cache that is not being cleared.3 votes -

Adding new facing pages moves shape layers on other pages
I am designing facing pages for a 300 page book layout in InDesign V16.0.1. When I add a new set of facing pages above pages that have existing graphic elements on them, the a few of the shape layers on some of the below pages shift approx. 18 points to the left or right for seemingly no reason. It is not all of the shape layers on all the pages, it's just one here and there, and sometimes it's text layers too. None of these elements are grouped with any others, and they are not Master Page elements. It appears…

InDesign Slow in MacOS Catalina when using a calibrated screen profile.
I am an experienced user of Adobe products for over 20 years. My current subscription is to Adobe Creative Suite (full). I am using a Mac Pro running MacOS 10.15.7 (Catalina) on NVMe SSD with 48 GB RAM and AMD 5700 XT GPU with 8GB VRAM. All Adobe apps are up to date.
If I use a calibrated screen profile, InDesign becomes extremely slow, so that every selection of a menu item, every key-press, every pan or drag, becomes incredibly slow.
