Montserrat typeface's; semi bold, bold, extra bold & black has issues displaying in Id
Version 2024 19.0
When I change the font to Monserrat with one of the mentioned styles most of the glyphs are wrongly presented for example if i choose bold most of the letters seem to be light rather than bold, with a few like 'o' and 'E' displaying as the right style, when they should all be displayed as bold.

hyperlink removes style
This is ID 19.4.
Hello– I have a character style applied to some (but not all) of the text in a TOC (see Attachment 1). As a test, we'll consider the word BELFAST, which has this specific style applied to it: font Roboto Bold, size 10, leading 12, All Caps, PMS 5275 CMYK.
However, when I use the 'Add Hyperlink' function to the entire text block (from BELFAST to the page #), the previously described style I have applied onto BELFAST is removed (see second attachment).
The particular TOC I'm showing you is short so no biggie, but I have…

footnote reference formatting is wrong
The new version 19 and 19.0.1 shows footnote reference numbers incorrectly When paragraph justification is set to Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer. It must be set to the basic Adobe Paragraph Composer to work.
The problem is the final digit (if the reference is greater than 9) does not apply the character style formatting defined in the Footnote Options setup, so the last digit is shown as normal.
The same issue happens on running head page numbers with a style applied, but only on the right hand page. It also happens on cross-reference numbers. A workaround is to place a character…

Adobe InDesign 2024 (v19.0) - Unable to create own style pack (error popup)
When I try to create a new style pack I get the dialog to apply different styles. When choosing the according styles for Heading, Subheading,... I only get an error pop up. When confirming, I get another alert, a couple of times in a row (for every following style to apply one). After confirming all alerts I get one or more text frames filled with example text (no specific format / settings) on the first page of the document.

Can't add paragraph- or charactar styles to CC library
Whenever i add a pargraph- or character styles to a CC library it simply wont add it. It says that the character - or paragraph style is not supported in Indesign. This happens with new and old libraries, character- and paragraph styles just dissapeared in older libraries. This makes the libraries unworkable.
Adobe indesign 18.5
To reproduce:
- add a character - or paragraph style to the library
- watch it disappear from the libraryexpected result:
- the character- or paragraph is added to the library, so it can happily be used for the book and all it's chapters…1 vote -

[ID-4236204]Using “Paragraph Borders and Shading” on frame grid, it is incorrect to base them on grid attributes possessed by the frame grid
InDesign Version CC2018 or newer
“Paragraph Borders and Shading” are usually generated based on the outline of the glyphs in the paragraph to which they are applied.
This is true even if they are grid-aligned on a text frame (Figure 1-a, right).
However, when the same settings are made on a frame grid, for some reason, they are generated based on the grid attributes of the frame grid, not the glyph outlines.
This always occurs based on the grid attribute of the frame grid, regardless of whether the text in the frame grid is grid-aligned or not (Figure 1-a left).…

Table Styles don't work properly
When editing a style for a table the table border is ignored if row strokes are set. Changing row or column strokes is ignored. Strokes remain whatever they were before the change. Changes have to be made manually making table styles basically useless.
Note, no styles are set for table cell borders.

Redefine style changes Grep Style
When redefining a style based on changes to an existing style (and that existing style has a GREP style in use), the style parameters of the style or grep style are changed. Whereas, if you edit a style directly and apply the same changes, the grep style is unaffected. See video.
1 voteIn the 1st case in your video, you have applied a local override to the Style by changing. That's why you see a + in the name of the Style. When you Redefine that Style, the overrides go away and the Style gets redefined with the new attributes.
However, in the 2nd case, you are Editing the Style directly by opening the Style dialog. So any changes you make in the dialog automatically becomes part of the Style itself and there is no need to Redefine it from the panel menu.
It is working correctly.

Adobe Caslon Pro: Glyph as bullet does not function
InDesign version 18.2.1 (Windows 10 x64). I would like to use a glyph as a bullet (the opentype digit 3 of Adobe Caslon Pro - an acorn). In the paragraph style box for my "Bulleted list" style, I am trying to add the bullet. When I click "add" and then click "ok," a standard round black dot appears in my list of bullet characters to choose from. If I try to add my preferred glyph (or any of the other opentype glyphs from the font's set, for that matter), the program tells me: "The selected bullet already appears in the…

Style Packs
i have adobe indesign 19.0.1
i don't have "Style Packs" in windows menu under styles
why?1 voteThe Style Packs feature is currently available only in English (International), English (North America), and German locales of InDesign.
If you are using InDesign on any other locale than the ones mentioned above, you will not see this feature.
Hope this helps.

Bulleted and numbered lists, "Restart Numbers at This Level After:" behavior is not consistent
- create a document with "Bulleted and numbered lists" and List Type "Numbers" * There are 3 types of headings and 3 levels.
- set the levels so that each heading is renumbered according to the higher level heading. 3.
- re-set the numbering style to "none" or remove "^#" from the "Number" to indicate numbering
- the numbers are no longer re-numbered.
Workaround: set Mode to "Start At: 1" instead of "Continue from Previous Number
I had quite a bit of trouble finding a workaround. Also, it is often the case that the higher levels do not want to display numbers, so the…

Grep Style at end of Frame Does NOT Map to XML or Show the Style is Applied
Have text lines in a contents like this, where the space is a tab:
DENTITION 287
INDEX 299The paragraph style uses these two GREP style lines to apply a character style that changes the point size of the number to 8.5 pt.
\t[ivxclm0123456789]+[\r\n]+
\t[ivxclm0123456789]+\zWhen the text line is at the end of a frame the number is formatted correctly per the character style at 8.5pt, but when the number is selected InDesign shows the wrong size in the menus, unlike the other numbers NOT at the end of the frame, which shows the point size the number actually…

Border style bottom is being applied twice to the same text.
This is a message for all the adobe indesign programmers, before adding new features can you at least fix all the bugs in this program!
I use the border feature a lot but lately it's been bugger than usual. I have a piece of text that has a border right and bottom. Under it I have another piece of text with the same settings and both have merge borders turned on. Please look at screenshot and tell him what the **** is going on! There is only 2 blocks of text but it's giving me 4 borders!

Override to Character Style Gets Removed
File from a client had a character style on a phrase making the phrase Italic. They then overrode part of the phrase with the character style back to Regular.
When a different paragraph style is applied (WITHOUT telling InDesign to remove overrides) the override within the character style goes away, reverting the overridden text back to the character style.
The problem seems to only occur when the font style of the new paragraph style being applied MATCHES the override that's applied.
I.e., overriding to Bold, then applying the a new paragraph style that is Bold, removes the override. BUT overriding…

Drop Cap size, is based on next character
Indesign 2023 Hebrew Version
Macbook Pro M1When i create a drop cap, the size of the drop cap is changing based on the next character after the drop cap, it only happens when the leading is fixed, when the leading is auto, it just moves up and down based on the size of the next character.
As you can see in the attached images, both paragraphs have the same style but when i change the size of the character after the drop cap the size or the leading of the drop cap changes2 votes
