2. Object effects not scaling when using numeric adjustment

   When I scale an object using the actual size of the object, say I have a rectangle 40x40mm with a stroke size of 4 point, and I increase the size to say 80x80mm the stroke still stays at 4 points. This also applies to effects that I have given the object, like a drop shadow. All the effects are not scaled if I scale the object numerically. No matter which panel I use and of course the transformation panel is marked to scale strokes and effects. The effects do scale if I scale it by percentage like they should.
   The problem is, if I have some sort of artwork with any kind of outline and want to set the exact hight of that artwork or object, the stroke size used to be adjusted accordingly, but now just stays as it was set at the beginning.

3. Indesign Documents placed in Indesign do not show used effect after reopening

   … and also export "sometimes" the wrong rendering as PDF.

   After reopening the saved File with the Placed Indesign-File it always displays in a wrong way! Thats quite new! look screenshot below

   I also recognized that sometihing changed in handling with the effects in Indesign. Especially if I copy objects from Indesign to Photoshop (a thing i made over years without problems) .... the look as it was in Indesign changes unfortunally. The only solution is at the moment to export the parts as pic and open it than in Photoshop, to be save evrything is as wanted.

   This tells me that Adobe something in the way changed to write from the Indesign-files a Pdf to place this in Photoshop or in Indesign as well.

   And by the way, …

   Indesign effects now seem to eat up even more memory and it often leads to display errors and sometimes a document becomes so slow that working with it becomes impossible because the document produces an error somewhere. Only the rebuild, with the same effects helps and it runs smoothly again.

4. No transparency when placing vector objects from CC library

   All of a sudden InDesign does not support transparency from the CC library. Any object in the library with transparency no comes with a white background. I'm not sure why randomly this has started, but it's extremely annoying and a giant workflow hang-up.

5. Text appears heavier over a transparent image

   When text is in a layer above an image that has its basic blending mode set to "multiply" the text is rendered with a darker outline. This does not appear in the final PDF, only the preview, but it makes it extremely difficult to judge font sizes and whether text is bold.

   To reproduce:

   1. Create text in a text box.
   2. Insert a JPEG image on the page.
   3. Use the Arrange option on the image to "send to back" so that it is in a layer below the text
   4. Use Effects > Transparency on the image and set its blending mode to Multiply

   The expected result is that the text should appear normally.

   The actual result is that the text appears slightly darker/larger/bolded. This effect may be easier to see if you zoom out in the preview.

6. enorme problème d'affichage dès que je scrolle ou zoome

   J'ai un énorme problème d'affichage depuis quelques temps, lorsque je scrolle mes pages sont illisibles, comme si il manquait des morceaux comme si elles s'auto-aspiraient par leur centre... ça se décale par le bord et le milieu.
   ca m'est devenu très difficile de travailler, je ne sais pas comment faire.
   Régulièrement ma barre d'outils disparait également.

   Corner size and shape arrows don't work. You have to manually type in a value. I thought that in doing so it would activate the arrows but no.

9. Drop Shadow is Very Buggy Within the App for Text

   The drop shadow effect is very buggy in the editor and has been for quite some time. I just dealt with it for the longest time but it seriously slows down production when I'm constantly having to "fix" it by making a change to the text then Undoing it (i.e. delete a character, then press Command+Z). The bug happens when Drop Shadow is applied to text and you scroll down the page a bit. The attached images show the before and after. If I scroll down the page after "fixing" it, it just re-bugs out. I work with white text so drop shadow is imperative for me to see the text against the white background of the page. Please fix this, it's been an issue for quite some time now, and apparently after looking through the forum it's not just with text either. Drop Shadow seems to be very buggy all around, which sucks because it's a fairly common effect that people use. Please help!

10. InDesign Effects applied directly to Text do not update when the text is changed

    Some effects that are applied directly to the text do not update when the text is changed. If the same effect is assigned to the text frame (object), this error does not occur. Switching to GPU Preview or GPU Acceleration on the Mac or turning off the same option has no effect on the error.

    Windows 10 mit InDesign Version 16.2.1 x64, only a time delay is noticeable.

    On Mac
    Mac OS Catalina Version 10.15.7 mit InDesign 2021, 16.4
    Mac OS Catalina Version 10.15.7 mit InDesign 2022, 17.0
    the effect remains for the old text until you save the file and open it again.

    Mac OS Mojawe Version 10.14.6, InDesign CS6 - not CC, no Problems occur, effects are deactivated while changing text and applied new after editing.

11. Transparency from PSD or PNG not showing in InDesign 17.0.1

    Since InDesign updated to v17.0.1 (from the v17 before this), transparency on pngs and psd's has stopped working. Instead it drops in a black background and messes with the colours.
    The image on blue shows how it should work (using a workaround dropping it onto white and setting the transparency to darken), the other is with the PNG or PSD imported with transparency. It was fine yesterday before updating.

12. Images disappear from the screen when effect (FX) is used elsewhere on document

    Photoshop tifs, Illustrator EPS and ai files disappear and are not rendered when an FX is used on a font or Illustrator file. The moment I delete the item with the FX, the images reappear.

16. Transparency issue when placing from CC Library

    Transparent items and graphics that have been saved into the CC library for YEARS that when placed into InDesign would place with those transparency settings and no issues.

    NOW I've updated to Adobe 2021 and suddenly those graphics that have been saved in there for years and even very recently before the update, are now placing into InDesign with white backgrounds. This seems to be a problem for many users.

    This is causing so many headaches and I don't know how to fix this for hundreds of graphics saved in various CC libraries. So far, the only fix I've found is exporting them all on seperate dartboards as transparent PNGs and then placing them all into an InDesign doc and THEN uploading them all to the CC library. Not an efficient or pleasant use of my time.

    I'm hoping this can be fixed ASAP. Or someone can tell me how to uninstall the 2021 version and reinstall the 2020 version as it can do the most basic of functions.

17. Effects / blending mode

    InDesign 16.4 x Windows 64: Cannot scroll the list of blending modes with arrow key(s) and preview the results in a selected box. I've always been able to do this in the past (InDesign CS 2, 4, 6). New laptop, new Adobe subscription. I can 'scroll,' but no preview. Window closes each time, so at least 30 clicks to re-open and select through the list.

    Hi everyone,

    The behavior mentioned here has been there since InDesign CC (that came out more than 8 years ago in 2013).
    Behavior in InDesign CS6 (and earlier) was different.

    Please confirm if you were seeing different behavior in any of the CC versions. Illustrator also behaves the same way.

18. PNG import issue with InDesign 16.3.1

    Hello!

    I'm having an issue with InDesign CC (16.3.1): some PNG files are imported in a green frame instead of being transparent. For example, when I import (whether with the shortcut cmd + d or not) the PNG of an image (1), it appears with a green background, while this same image only with an additional layer (2) appears with a transparent background, as it should. However, it is the same export format with the added layer displayed or hidden.

    I would like to point out that this bug only appears when importing into indesign, I don't have this problem when I import the file into Illustrator.

    I didn't have this problem before, I downgraded from 16.3.2 to 16.3.1 and still have the same problem!

    BUG Report: InDesign 13.3 x 64:
    I can't use my arrow to scroll up and down the Effects menu to see the various effects on my selected box. Instead, I have to click to reopen the list for each effect and then click each effect. There are 15 effects, so that's 30 clicks to get through the list instead of one click to open the list and then scrolling the list with the arrow key(s) to see the different effects on my selected box. PS - I reported the same problem with Corner Options; I can arrow/scroll horizontally, for example, in Opacity and Tints, but not vertically in Effects ... I'm new to CC and have not tested every possibility. Please fix!

20. 3 Bugs one Update > Edge smoothing doesnt work correctly > Effects previews and use doesent work correctly and shredderesd text >

    After the last update, the following things no longer work properly:
    1. CC Libraries
    (Crashes and shows either a reduced or enlarged section of the library and is no longer usable. Only a program restart helps ... short term! see screenshot 1. the bug was already in Illustrator!)

    1. edge smoothing! (Not only since the update): ... Does not work properly for quite some time! 2.1 Completely covered areas, lines and graphics have a slight contour due to the edge smoothing and become minimally visible (although these would actually be invisible and not visible in print) or form minimally soft edges, or corners where there are none! (see screenshot 2) 2.2 Frames with effects and in which images are loaded whose outer edges are 100 percent transparent, form fine gray outer lines on the outer edges where there are none!
    2. effect & effect preview: no longer works properly with texts and shreds them after scaling or makes them invisible! A problem which I never had before and what worked wonderfully before the update. (S. Scrrenshot 3)

    In addition, as an addition bugs in Íllustrator with 3D extrusions and invited images on it! Bugs with Adobe RAW: Zoom Scollrad works no longer or only stuttery!

    Dear Adobe team, what is going on? The whole thing costs a lot of time, a lot of money and nerves ... infinite nerves!!!!!!!!! It's starting to remind me of QuarkXpress!

    1. Kantenglättung! (Nicht erst seit dem Update): …
       Funktioniert seit geraumer Zeit nicht mehr ordnungsgemäß!
       2.1. Vollständig abgedeckte Flächen, Linien und Grafiken haben durch die Kantenglättung auf einmal ein leichte Kontur und werden minimal sichtbar (Obwohl diese eigentlich unsichtbar und im Druck nicht sichtbar wären) oder bilden minimal weiche Kanten, oder Ecken wo keine sind! (S. Screenshot 2)
       2.2 Rahmen mit die mit Effekten versehen sind und in denen Bilder eingeladen werden deren Ausskanten zu 100 Prozent transparent sind, bilden an den Aussenkanten feine graue aussenlinien, wo keine sind!

    2. Effekt & effektvoschau:
       funktioniert nicht mehr richtig bei Texten und zerschreddert diese nach Skallierung oder macht diese unsichtbar! Ein Problem welches ich bislang nie hatte und was vor dem Update wunderbar funktionierte. (S. Scrrenshot 3)

    Dazu als Beigabe Bugs bei Íllustrator mit 3D-Extrusionen und eingeladen Bildern darauf! Bugs bei Adobe RAW: Zoom Scollrad funktinóniert nicht mehr oder nur stotterhaft!

    Liebes Adobe-Team, was ist los? Das ganze kostet viel Zeit, viel Geld und Nerven .. unendlich viel Nerven!!!!!!!!! Es erinnert mich allmählich an QuarkXpress!

Does not work properly for quite some time! 2.1 Completely covered areas, lines and graphics have a slight contour due to the edge smoothing and become minimally visible (although these would actually be invisible and not visible in print) or form minimally soft edges,… more
