  1. importing multiple illustrator artboards into empty frames no longer works

    With the 2021 version of indesign I could 'load' my cursor with an illustrator file and select 'all' artboards, then i could 'drop' each artboard into an empty indesign frame - this no longer works in the 2022 version (17.2). Instead it just drops the first image in and the loaded cursor 'cancels'.

  3. Placed PDFs and Images Not Rendering

    I'm on InDesign 2022 (17.2) and have started recently having issues with placed images and PDFs after an update. I have a 2021 silicon Mac Mini for Travel and an Intel 2019 iMac for home use. Both on Monterey 12.3.1

    The rendering issue began after certain documents originally worked on in the silicon version had issues when opening in the Intel version.

    This happened with both images (TIFs, JPGs) and PDF files. After placing the files in InDesign (in the mac mini) they rendered fine. Upon opening the files though in InDesign on my iMac. The renderings did not appear.…

  4. Persistent graphics issues

    There are STILL graphics problems in Indesign 17.2. Things disappearing off the screen that don't reappear unless you try and move them (zooming in and out doesn't work), streaks appearing across the screen.

    I am so bored of the constant bugs in this app.

  5. InDesign library with images linked to server disappears on placement

    An InDesign library with entries that contain images LINKED TO A SERVER will not drag-and-drop to the InDesign page. The library entry disappears upon releasing the mouse button and a Mac system alert sounds. Repeatable in CC2020, CC2021, and CC2022 in Big Sur and Monterey. This doesn't happen in OS Catalina.

    Using SMB protocol to connect to image server.

    Repro Steps:
    1) Put images on a server. Use different image formats (.ai, .eps, .jpg, etc.)
    2) Link those images from the server to image boxes in InDesign.
    3) Add those images boxes to an InDesign library.
    4) Drag/drop those entries…

  6. Place multi-page PDF pages: Place Gun will be unloaded after first page is placed to a frame

    New bug with InDesign 17.2 that I cannot see with InDesign 17.1.

    [1] Load multiple PDF pages from a multi-page PDF to the place gun.
    [2] Hover the loaded cursor over a graphic frame to place the first page in that frame
    [3] Click to place the first page.

    Result:
    The first page is placed to the frame

    BUG: The rest of the loaded PDF pages in the place gun are unloaded. The place gun is empty after you placed the first of several pages to a frame.

  7. Fixing images and text wrap

    Since a longer time there is a bug, that makes it impossible to let the text flow around beside an image, while this image is fixed with a anchor mark. The line, where the anchor mark is set doesn’t flow around. That makes an unhappy compronise necessary: Either you don’t set the anchor mark and the image doesn’t flow with the text or you set an manual word wrap.

    This should be fixed because in other programs it also works.

  8. V2022 - Museo Sans fonts not working after InDesign update

    I recently upgraded my InDesign on my PC, running Windows 10 Enterprise, from Version 2019 to Version 2022.

    After the update, my Museo Sans from Adobe fonts stopped working in Version 2022. I couldn't convert my InDesign file back to 2019, so I ended up pulling it into a Mac environment and re-saving successfully from V2021 to an IDML file and re-opening it in InDesign V2019 on my PC. The fonts are visible in the newly re-opened V2019 file.

  9. Roboto fonts not working in indesign

    I have tried everything to add Roboto fonts to creative cloud to be used in InDesign but nothing works. First, I click on the "f" in the upper right hand corner, and it just spins and spins saying loading. The next thing I tried was going to Adobe Fonts website and 'Activiating all Robot Fonts." Even though it shows as activated, Whenever I try to export my design it says following fonts (Roboto family) aren't currently available.

  10. scrolling causes screen distortion of document pages

    Adobe Indesign 17.0.1 on a M1XMax 16" 2021 MacBook Pro. MacOS = 12.1

    When scrolling through a document, the screen becomes distorted (per the attached video screen recording). The distortion becomes worse the more you scroll. Closing and re-opening the document is a (very) temporary fix but the distortion reappears almost immediately.
    Theory: May be associated with using a 1x resolution on the screen display, rather than one of the 2x retina display resolutions.

  11. multiple files not placing correctly when multi-page pdf is present

    when placing multiple PDF files, after placing a multi-page PDF, the next file in sequence is skipped.

    InDesign v 17.0.1

    to reproduce:
    - open place dialogue and select multiple files from same folder (with options)
    - apply options for 'all' pages
    - place the sequence

    We would expect all pages of all files to place.

    Instead, some files are not placed but remain in the links window without a selectable link on the page.

    In the screenshot you can see that after each multi-page PDF the following file is not loaded into the placegun.

  12. Missing or Damaged Links in 17.0.1

    Just opened file created two years ago in InDesign. Links panel shows links ok, but pages show gray rectangles. Replacing the link seems to help, except if the link is a PDF. Those are not working at all. They show up on screen as pixelated, even at high screen resolution setting; but print as gray rectangles.

  13. cms not working correctly in InDesign 17.01

    Images with different RGB colorprofiles look completely different when mounted in Indesign 17 compared to how it works (correctly) in Indesign 16.4.
    if not Adobe RGB the conversion doesnt seem to work. See images below from ID 16 & 17 with apple RGB colorprofile (same problem with Colormatch profile)

  16. Placed/Imported Photos glitching, changing colors, white noise effect

    File> Placed Photos glitching, changing colors, white noise effect, or turn black. Tried dragging and dropping onto artboard but pictures keep importing distorted. Reset all presets and preferences. Uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. Photos should import as is instead of glitching and most of all changing colors. This started happening after I updated InDesign beginning of this month (November 2021).

    Using Adobe InDesign 17.0.1 x64

  17. Graphics glitches galore on M1 MacBook Air + external 4K monitor

    InDesign 17 on an M1 MacBook Air with Big Sur is barely usable with an external 4K monitor. There are graphic artifacts everywhere, especially near the margins/edge of boxes which makes it hard to know if anything is aligned properly. Everything looks okay on the laptop's built-in display but is distorted on the external.

    Also, when scrolling, the screen updates sporadically and usually does the Windows 95-looking stuck window effect.

    If I turn off the GPU it looks better when working statically but when scrolling it is even worse.

  18. 2022 InDesign bugs

    when using ID 2021 and before, When I sized a graphic, say, from 100 to 50%, the info box would say the graphic is now 50%. In ID 2022, when I reduce a graphic, the box says it is 100%. I am not liking this.

  19. Verknüpfungen werden nach jeder Aktivität neu aufgebaut // InDesign 17.0 x64 // running on Win 10 Pro

    Aktuell laden sich die verknüpften Bilder nach jedem Doing in InDesign (Also egal was ich mache, Textverschieben, von einem anderen Programm zurück zu InDesign wechsle oder was auch immer, 1 Sache mache ich und schon laden die ganzen Verknüpfungen neu. In den alten Versionen lief das ohne Probleme. Ich konnte ohne Störungen arbeiten. Dies scheint ein BUG zu sein, denn das macht das Arbeiten mit dem neuen InDesign unmöglich. Ich kann nicht jede Sekunde warten, bis sich der Screen neu aufgebaut hat und ich weiterarbeiten kann. Die Bilder komplett auszugrauen ist auch keine Option, da es für unsere Gestaltung wichtig…

  20. Linked EPS appears with jagged/rough edges even on High Quality Display

    I've never seen this before, but linked vector EPS files aren't previewing properly in InDesign. The edges are super jagged when they should be smooth lines.
