Cannot place EPS image in empty box
InDesign 14.0.1.209
Mac OSX 10.14.3
sample file is attachedPlacing an EPS file generated from "Barcode" (by AppsForLife) does not work properly if the target box is empty. If box already contains a graphic, the file will place properly via "Place" or drag+drop.
On a new image box or box where the existing image has been deleted, the following occurs (via Place or drag+drop):
Image will seem to appear in the target box. Once mouse button is released, the imported image is no longer in the box and the pointer changes to a "placement selector" prompting to place the image…

How to clear round corner options
Recently I have set-up a corner options to drag rectangles with a specific round corner. Now I want to drag regular rectangles, with no round corners anymore. But when drag new rectangles they all have round corners.
Note that I have already set the corner option to 0 in the Corner options panel (Object menu). But nothing changes.
Can somebody help me ?1 vote -
Image Links
After an image is placed in a document (first selected as "Place" in Bridge") the image is then selected, using the label "Select" in Bridge. In the InDesign document the link will become brokenand needs to be relinked. If the marking of the image in Bridge is not done then the linking problem doesn't not occur.

Object distribution disapeared from Advanced Settings
Even object distribution has been removed from the Advanced layout and can only be seen in Essentials or Essentials Classic. I updated InDesign 2019 on 02/02/2019 and this issue suddenly appeared.

CC Libraries search slow to input typed letters
With the CC Libraries panel open, clicking inside the search area at the top and typing, often the second letter that is typed is not included.
For example, RIFT would end up being RFT. When highlighting the word and typing again, it is fine.
It seems intermittent and isn't a stuck keyboard key as it works perfectly typing in a text frame.
It could possibly be limited to one or two certain characters such as "i" and "f" as those ones that consistently fail to be entered.

Content-Aware Fit-Problem with INDD CC2019, 14.0.1
I had images to link again after receiving a layout from a customer. In some cases, I had massive changes, different sections of images, with the new option activated. I'm not shure about the reason, but if I don't activate the automatic fit, the picture sections are correct in the same layout with the same images. All the best

updating links
When updating links (an InDesign file linked to 4 instances) the update comes in too large for the frame. So you have to Fit Content Proportionally. This happens with PSD and AI files as well.

After adjusting a link and renewing it, indesign fits automatically fits it to frame
I did notice that the link options weren't turned on properly but i turned them on and the result was the same.
Also figured it might have to to with the auto-fit option but i double checked and it's not turned on... this is super annoying. I'm honestly afraid that it'll juggle everything about when i make a minor change.....1 vote -
Edit original not launching native application
Edit original was easy to access using option + click linked image.
Since the latest update InDesign v14.10 and Mac OS Mojave, this action opens the 'Import PDF' dialogue and if you click 'Ok' launches Photoshop. The linked image is an Illustrator .ai file. All used to work, why the change?1 vote -
images are missing
When opening v.2018 Indesign files or new v.2019 files, bitmap images are not displayed. Images are shown as gray boxes with an X across the box (see attached). Display settings changes do not remedy the problem.
I have to work in v.2018 until this is fixed.

1 voteWhat is the creator application of these Bitmap images? Which file format(s) are you placing in InDesign?
Could you also share a couple of these images as we don’t see a problem with our files?Adobe InDesign team

fitting rotatet bitmaps
I do not know if it's a bug or feature request:
Rotated bitmaps should be fitted to fill its box completely. After fitting no box-backgraund or transparency inside the box should to bee seen.
Was it not in former versions possible?1 vote -
No longer scroll to select items with the arrow keys
With import of several items you can no longer scroll to select items with the arrow keys?
It work if i use place CMD+D but doesn't work with CC libraries.
If i use more than 1 items in the CC libraries i need to place one of the items in the layout and after i can scroll to select items with the arrow keys on the keyboard

InDesign Enlarges New Assets larger than their Bounding Box
Since the new update, every time I drag an image or logo, etc. into Indesign and drag out how large I want the asset to be displayed....
- Indesign places it (after a short delay), but makes the bounding box smaller than the actual asset. So the logo gets partially covered by the bounding box.I'm not using the content aware sizing or anything. The bounding box should exactly match the asset as its being dragged in for the first time. Very frustrating.
1 voteHi Patrick,
We’re sorry to hear that the latest version of InDesign is not behaving as per your expectations.
You said that you are not using Content Aware Sizing. However, could you check once again to see if you have enabled the setting ‘Make Content-Aware Fit the default frame fitting option’ in the Preferences dialog (under General section)?
Also it would be helpful if you can show us a quick demo of the issue and/or share the file (along with the asset).Ravi Kiran

Placed illustrator .ai color dodge layers in Indesign don't display/print correctly
Placing .ai stock files which have soft 'color dodge' layer highlights display and print as hard masks in Indesign. The solution I've found is re-saving the file as an EPS. Attached is a sample image (.ai on left, .eps on right).

text
I am having text problems when regular text is near an image and the text which is within the boundary box of the image then text prints out bold. It does not appear bold on screen and the font is definetly regular but ive done some test and where the boudnary image box over hangs into text it then prints out bold mid word or wherever the image boudnary box is. This happens on psd images which have been deppetched and have no background.

Clippingpath inset
I don't really know if its a bug or a feature:
If I set an inset for a clippingpath (made in Photoshop) by for example 3mm, it sets the inset based on the scaling of the image. Means: if my image is scaled by 50% the inset will only be 1,5mm. As I have a document with multiple scale ratios it is not possible to maintain a coherent inset amount.
I use the clipping-path frame to generate a cutting contours for stickers which all have to have a specific inset to avoid "blank streaks".

paste illustrator path
Copy/pasting a stroked path from Illustrator works OK only if the stroke is centred on the path.
If the stroke is set in Illustrator to align with inside or outside of path, inDesign pastes a closed shape. Means to get an accurate path you have to changed the stoke alignment in Illustrator, then copy/paste, then change the stroke alignment back in inDesign...
