InDesign is removing caps from file names
InDesign 17.1 x64 Often (most of the time, but not always) when I overwrite (File Save As) or Export to a PDF that already exists and overwrite the current file, the new file name becomes all small letters (removes my caps). It only happens with InDesign. I can overwrite PDFs from Word, Access, etc and it never happens. This is very frustrating. Just started happening with version 17.

PDF's Exporting at Large File Sizes
I've been running into an issue with PDF's exporting at large file sizes. This became apparent to me after the 2022 update. Here is an example of how this occurs and disrupts my workflow.
I recently sent a exported a PDF from an indd project that linked to 13 PSD's. The exported PDF file size came to relatively manageable 10 MBs.
I later updated the same project, now including 20 linked PSD's. This PDF export came to 184 MBs!
When I've run into this in the past, I've had to either convert the PSD's to JPG's, or run some kind…

Slow creation of PDF low-res
In addition to the problem I posted regarding a conflict between ID and Windows 11, I did resolve that by moving to an earlier release of ID. However, the creation of the low-res PDF now consumed the time it normally takes to produce a high-res print-ready export. Something is going on with ID 17.1.

InDesign 17.1 generating enormous PDF
I am a book designer and have been using InDesign for years. Just upgraded to 17.1 and finding its exporting massive PDF of a simple text file (60 page novel - no images, no colour, no charts, no graphics...just black text on a white page). I cant get it below 18mb using 'Smallest File Size' which is ridiculous. Previously this would have been 1 to 2 mb. Can you fix this please?

Printing to PDF: transparent images on a black background create two different blacks.
Export function doesn't tend to create this problem, but I have to use the Print Booklet function to get page layout and everything else correct.
I understand the difference between Rich Black and Accurate Black, but changing the settings for what InDesign will export seems to have no effect. have tried about 6 different solutions but none of them seem to work, short of me jumping through obscene hoops to cheat it. FIX YOUR CRAP ADOBE.
Attaching two images:
First is Screencap from InDesign viewport.
Second is PDF after print.UPDATE: The website doesn't allow me to upload jpegs, so…

pdf export missing image
1- InDesign(17.0.1)
2- When importing this PDF file "Socredo.pdf" in an InDesign(17.0.1) magazine layout, then exporting it again in PDF, the upper background tatoo drawing disappears. This stays true even when trying different PDF export preferences.
3- The expected result would be to have the 2 pdfs identical visually
4- The file "105 Ecopol 2021-2022 Secteurs.pdf" is the actual result, with the missing upper tatoo background.

Multiple PDF export
Hi,
I have a 2020 6 core iMac with 32GB RAM and I was used to do multiple exports to PDF at one time ... I could open up to 4 files and run exports on them and those exports ran at the same time ... more than 4 simultaneous exports did not work, but i was fine with 4 :)
Today I noticed it does not work anymore for me? What happend? I have the latest MacOS 12.1 Monterey and also the latest InDesign ...
I run the first export and the others are queuing...1 vote -
InDesign version 17.0.1: Captions generated in InDesign do not export with accessible tagging structure.
I'm trying to get my captions to tag properly when exporting to a PDF (for accessibility purposes). I used the caption functions in InDesign (Caption Setup and Generate Static Caption) to create captions for my images. I watched a tutorial that showed this process and the end result was text tagged as "Caption" and nested underneath the Figure/Image.
Unfortunately, when I export, the caption is tagged as regular paragraph text (<P>), and it is not nested with its associated image. Any tips on how to fix this? I'm trying to do things correctly on the InDesign side, so I won't…

BUG: PDF Page Information does not display non-Arabic folios
The 'Page Information' on exported PDFs does not display non-Arabic folios.
See attached screenshot for example. Roman numerals are used for page numbering. The page name ('folio') is shown correctly in Acrobat as 'ii', but the Page Information on the PDF incorrectly shows the Arabic numeral '2'. This happens regardless of the PDF export settings.
If the same document is printed to a PostScript file and Distilled, the Page Information correctly displays the roman numerals.

Using a variable font and exporting to PDF results in corrupted outlines in text
When using a variable font in InDesign v17.0.1 and exporting to PDF, the resulting file contains text with corrupted outlines. '.notdef' boxes get inserted into some glyphs as can be seen in the attached PDF.
This error also occurs in Illustrator.
When exporting to PDF using a non-Adobe application, no errors are seen.
Errors occur only when using variable version of the font an not the static versions.
Additional information and test fonts have been sent in an email to Josh Hadley.

InDesign 17.0.1 exporting to Acrobat Pro DC 2021.007.20099 and opening in Full Screen mode on Monterey 12.0.1 page transitions not working.
InDesign 17.0.1 exporting to Acrobat Pro DC 2021.007.20099 and opening in Full Screen mode on Monterey 12.0.1 page transitions not working.
The options are still there in InDesign and Acrobat to have page transitions but they no longer function. Is this a Mac issue as, apparently, Windows users don't have this issue
