Caption Setup Metadata Dimensions in Inches OR ImageCatalog.jsx Script Labels in inches
Hello,
I would like to be able to add dimensions in inches in Caption Setup.
This is useful for creating a reference contact sheet for printing graphics of many different sizesAlternatively, could ImageCatalog.jsx Script be edited to include a dimensions label in inches?
Thanks

Clear All Style Sets—Right from the Style Set Menu
Since there are a lot of windows to get to the OpenType Style Sets, we need a button that can clear all the opentype features we've tried out. This can be put into the Stylistic Sets Menu. (See attached picture.)
This isn't just valuable to me. This is valuable to:
1. Other users can feel free to use style sets, knowing that they can quickly clear all options, not spend minutes clicking through menus—Just to turn something off!
2. Font designers might add more features into their fonts if the features are easier to use.
3. You've already made that opentype feature button when you highlight, thank goodness for that! We just need a better way of clearing the style.
4. This allows a lot of utility to the end user, but since it's just a simple menu button, with a simple function it won't really take as many man hours to implement.
5. Your product becomes even more indispensable to type enthusiasts.(This can also be implemented in the Opentype Tab of the Character Styles menu.)
Basically, this will make a lot of more advanced users happy with very limited downside to Adobe. I have attached a picture of how this might look.
Thanks, Dave
PS If the above idea is too difficult to implement, here's an even easier one: At the very least, if the menu behavior was different, it would save us a lot of clicking. And it's just this simple thing: Keep up the menu after I or another user click on a style set. That way, we users can choose multiple type options.
It's that simple.
This goes for the Entire Menu, once you've clicked on "OpenType."
Additionally, since the behavior is so subtle, I believe most users won't even know the menu behavior changed, but might just feel like, "Wow, this menu is so much easier to use."
Easy to implement, a lifesaver for those of us who spend all day clicking through these menus!

Page picker when placing PDF
Please add a page picker (overview of all pages) when placing a PDF, INDD or AI file like when you drag a PDF into Photoshop. It would speed up the process of placing different pages enormously

Use Creative Cloud Library items in G-Suite/Google Slides
I would like to be able to use the images that we add to our team's Creative Cloud Library inside of Google Slides so we can have one canonical place for all our assets to use across ID, PSD, AI and G-Suite.

Properties panel: make “Apply to Text” the default for text frames
When I select a text frame, I find that most of the time I want to change the colour of the text, not the frame. But InDesign defaults to “Apply to Frame“ every single time, which is particularly cumbersome in the properties panel, where the option is now a menu.
I believe it would be much more useful to have the default either be "Apply to Text“ whenever you choose a text frame or at least remember your preference.
(I am aware that you can double click to select the text, then select all, then the properties panel applies the colour to the text. That takes more time, though.)

Video quality in PDFs should be better
Videos shouldn't be integrated as Flash in 2020. There are better standards from HTML5.

Allow border styles of top, right, bottom, left to vary
It would be great if you could have different border style for every of the four borders. In CSS it has been easy to specify different colours or stroke widths for ages. It would be great if you could do this in InDesign.

Various footnotes options/formatting
When there are two stories in the document (eg. text and translation) with different styles, it's necessary for the footnotes of each one to have different styles also.

Auto-activate adobe fonts in book panel
It would be helpful if InDesign could auto-activate any Adobe Fonts used in individual documents when adding them to a book file in the Book Panel.
Currently InDesign displays a message warning about missing fonts/reflow etc and the only way to activate the fonts is to open each document in turn and go through the activation process separately for every document.
It would be helpful to have the option to have InDesign activate any of these missing fonts that are available on Adobe Fonts automatically when a document is added, or as a book-wide feature like syncing.

Global Text Edit Across Multiple File Instances
A way to update one Master File, that populates multiple files.
One product > multiple instances
By changing text on "1" it would update the same text in the same spot for the different instances "1a,1b,1c"
1 > 1a > 1b > 1c

Variable font issues with named instances 'Regular' and 'Book'
A variable font including instances named 'Book' and 'Regular' breaks the functionality of the instance 'Regular'. Slider change does not change the weight of the font. The same font works well in Adobe Illustrator.

File-size Preview
Seeing the estimated file-size preview prior to export taking place would be a huge benefit, when trying to hit a certain file size limit.
At least begin by allowing for file-size preview for files up to, say, 50mb? Then as time goes on, improve this feature.

PDF tags are lost when placed in InDesign
When I place any PDF in Indesign (and this I do very often), which include pre-created accessible PDFs, the tags go away and the complete exported Pdf becomes inaccessible and tag-less.
The only tag that I get in the exported PDF is <Figure> tag.

Kurdish Language Spelling
Hello!
Adobe InDesign has many users writing and experiencing the Central Kurdish language which are living and a great part population of Iraq which is the Kurdistan Region, but unfortunately, the Kurdish language spelling dictionary isn't available in InDesign.
I hope you can add an option for users writing with this language to let InDesign get their phrases and sentences to be added to the Kurdish language dictionary and be available for other users.
Or if you create a translation web page to add the Kurdish language phrase and sentence spellings to be available in Adobe InDesign and other adobe products.

Custom/favorite zoom
Especially when working on a small laptop while traveling, I like to use a couple of zoom levels that are non-standard, and have to keep retyping the percentages in the bottom left of the screen.
For example, I frequently want to zoom to the width of a page's text frame, not including the margins, which on my current laptop is 100%. That's easy because it corresponds with one of the present zoom levels.
But I also frequently zoom to show a spread's text frames; I don't want to waste my precious laptop screen space on the margins away from the spine. That's 45% which I have to type in every time. I would be so happy if I could add this as a favorite to the other preset levels.
"Zoom to page text frame" and "Zoom to spread text frames" would be great additions to the list.
Thank you.
