Make mini-icons easier to see
I am running InDesign 2017.1 on a 1920x1080 monitor. The toolbar icons are quite small, but still usable, except for the ones dealing with color and stroke (lower left corner of UI). The mini-icons are trouble for old eyes and hands. I have tried changing the Windows text size setting to 125%, which improves the mini-icon situation but bloats the whole UI, reducing the work area. All I really want to do is make the color/stroke jumble easier to navigate and use. Everything else is fine as is.

make type palette responsive and precise - it slips and lags.
scrolling through fonts in the type palette is not smooth and responsive. It slips and lags, as if there is something blocking the mouse or trackpad sensor. Frustrating bug that does not occur in Illustrator. Please fix.

print-preferences should auto-sort alphabetically
Just a thingy: Im not able to alter the order of my styles, thats fine and dandy. But then I would rather have it sorted alphabetically.
@screenshot: See how "A1" (2) is at the bottom, where my brain want to find it at the top of the list beneath A1 (1).

Open failed (.inlk): Dialog "Open As Copy?"
Ever "browsed" thru a fileserver to doubleclick the document from Finder/Explorer?
Bad for you, if that file is in use by someone else, because:
Now you can redo the browsing within InDesign, just to access the "open as copy" within the file-open-dialog.What if the "No access, maybe locked."-warning can be a dialog like this: "No access, maybe locked. Try to open as Copy?"

QR Code Pallet
Qr Codes should have their own Workspace Pallet with at least the same options as the QR Monkey site.
I used to use the PatternMaker plugin for InDesign, and it was so much more convenient to to have that pallet than it is to fumble through the menus every time I need a new one.
Plus, PatternMaker placed the QR Code into an existing image box, so I didn't have to cut/paste the newly made code into the text flow of my 1000 page catalog.

InDesign language management needs improvement
Dear Adobe Team,
I am a long-time Adobe InDesign user and I would like to express my frustration regarding language management within the application.
Despite having Creative Cloud configured in Italian, InDesign frequently switches back to English after updates. The only reliable solution appears to be uninstalling and reinstalling the application, which is extremely time-consuming and disruptive.
Considering that InDesign is a professional product used worldwide, it is surprising that there is still no simple built-in option allowing users to switch the application interface language without reinstalling the software.

Spread View Lock to keep it from shifting all the time.
Need to stop the spreads from moving and zooming on their own. When working on two-page spreads on a large monitor, we don't need Adobe to keep moving our spreads around creating more work. Dragging a photo from a second monitor will automatically scoot the spread over for no reason. Also hyperlinking to new page will center that page recentering the spread for no reason. Mouse scroll wheel will often accidentally scoot the spread unintentionally and would be great to lock the spread view.

[ID-4284726] Add a German native-speaker & InDesign power user to your team to make proper and consistent translations
There were many small and big issues with incorrect translations within InDesign in the past.
Three examples:
– »tracking« was (correctly) translated to Laufweite at one occasion in InDesign but (totally wrong) to Verfolgung at a different place.
– »KI-generierte Inhalte« (wroing) and »Beschreibung von KI generiert« (correct)
– epub:type was translated to epub:Schrift instead of epub:TypPlus: German text is mostly longer than english, so it sometimes does not fit into the UI.
Consulting a German native-speaker who is also a InDesign power user would be great to make a better InDesign for the big number of German speaking…

Pages Menu
I need to see pages reliably. The InDesign Pages menu pop-out fails. It will reappear and work properly when re-opened. It is not showing in an unexpexted place that I've found. It occurs sometime while working but I haven't identified what brings it to fail. Attachment named InDesignMenuFail-2026-06-26.jpg shows the icon is activated, but not visible as it is in the InDesignMenuOK-2026-06-26.jpg image.

Can we add a default locking range feature for the stored 'find/replace' XML files?
I hope to lock the 'search scope'. And it can be included in the. xml file.
There have been two serious accidents, fortunately discovered, but I was still scolded by my boss.
I have a regular expression that repeats when indexing. When I store it, the range is "article", but one day I didn't pay attention. After selecting it, the range changed to "document", and as a result, some content was replaced.
Very scary.The search range is now automatically determined, but sometimes accidents may occur if not careful.

Turn off the "Free Transform Tool"
We should be able to turn off the "Free Transform Tool" so that the "Selection Tool" is the only one used. InDesign auto selects "Free Transform Tool" when I just want the "Selection Tool"!

"Select Fully Enclosed Objects Only" Mode
Subject: Addition of a selection toggle to include only objects entirely within the marquee area.

Currently, InDesign’s selection tool (Marquee Selection) selects any object that the selection frame touches (Crossing Selection). Match Page Navigation When Comparing Two Documents Side-By-Side
It would be helpful if page navigation in one document could be matched in the other when comparing two documents side-by-side, i.e., when comparing two versions of a document.
As it is, it's necessary to navigate, i.e., page-down, in one document then click on the other document and repeat the navigation. As there's no key command to switch tabs/documents/windows either, it's even more unproductive.
Having the option to make the other document in the 2-up arrangement match navigation would improve productivity greatly.

Regression: Inability to cycle through Blend Modes using arrow keys in the Effects Panel

I am reporting a significant workflow regression in the InDesign Effects Panel (and Properties Panel) that has persisted into the 2026 versions.The Issue:
In older versions of InDesign, users could click on a Blend Mode (e.g., "Multiply") in the Effects Panel and then use the Up/Down arrow keys to instantly cycle through other modes.
