  1. Ability to completely disable start screens in AI, INDD, PS, Acrobat

Ability to completely turn off these start screens in AI, INDD, PS, Acrobat. When I close a document window, I expect to be able to see my desktop, not a wall I then have to close or hide. Old school workflow, never had a start screen, never needed one, it's not helpful imho, tho it may be to others, so we should be able to choose how we want it.

  2. Zoom to selection is not using enough screen real estate

when using shortcut shift-cmd-= to perform a zoom to selection, the object is being centred, which is good, but the zoom view is too small given that there're just too many spaces being left around the object.

Ideally, when zoom to selection this will snugly fit the object just into the window, which I found an interesting coincidence. Say for example, theres an object thats being set to zoom to selection, and the zoom level of it is 30.7% (and just feel how small the object would look on screen at this level), then you multiply this number by 2,…

  3. Workspace Issues with every document

Using 2019 Adobe InDesign on Mac OS Mojave

Whenever I open a new document, or open a recent document, my workspace panels on the left disappears every time. It never happened in 2018. It's quite annoying having to reset the workspace with every document opened. Please fix. Thank you!

  4. Icon looks too much like Premiere

Sometimes I accidentally click the wrong icon because the color of the two programs (that I both use) are close together...

Either changing the color or the logo (invert?) or both could help.

By the way, for the color blind the icons aren't very user friendly either.

  5. Application In Use indicator

I bounce between InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop continuously and often realize after trying something that I'm in Illustrator, not InDesign. If there were a subtle unobtrusive way to indicate this, so it 'feels' like Illustrator that would be nice. I don't mean overboard, like Microsoft's Word blue, Excel's green. Something I can change until I find something I like. An indicator in the toolbar? Does this exist already and I don't know?

  6. Clear/erase "recent file" list.

Untill the new open/splah dialog, the recent file list wasn't a problem.
It was hidden into the File menù, and was almost impossible to see it.

Now with the new open / splash screen everyone is able to watch the document you opened previously.
In some occasion this is not that nice, especially if you work for someone and some of them competitors...

It could be useful to introduce an "erase recent document" at the end of the list in the File->Recent file menu.
    As many other softwares has.

  7. Home Screen preference switch needed

Preference to disable "Home Screen". Very annoying when no internet connectivity - PS and AI both have this option, why not Indesign?

  8. visibility of the Colorsetting in menu bar

I often work in different color settings for newspaper printing or offset printing. It seems convenient to me if I can see the current color setting as a notification in the menu bar. Also usefull for other applications as well like Illustrator and Photoshop.

  9. "arrange document"

    Enhanced 'Arrange Documents' features

It would be very helpful if one could apply keyboard shortcuts to 'Arrange Documents' options (Consolidate All, Tile All in Grid, Tile All Vertically, etc.) It would also be awesome if we could save our own frequently used layouts.

  10. Please add »Units and Increments« to the Properties Panel

Often used and changed preferences in InDesign are the one found in »Units and Increments«. It would be a great workflow enhancement to have this as a part of the new Properties Panel if nothing is selected.

This would save users the time to go into the Preferences if they want to change them. Thank you!

  11. Allow multiple bookmarks to be dragged at once to reorder in bookmarks panel

In the Bookmarks panel, you can select multiple bookmarks simultaneously, but you can't then do anything with them. It would be nice to be able to move several bookmarks at once when reordering.

  12. Panels minimized at start up

When InDesign starts up all the panels are minimzed. I have to click "Reset Workspace" to make them appear maximized again.

  13. Toolbar

My toolbar is located on the right because I'm righthanded and placing it on the right means shorter distances when using the mouse. This means less stress on shoulders and arms.

I have an idea to choose a tool even faster, while creating more workspace and less use of the mouse.

What about a specific key (combination) useable for your non mouse hand (eg.ctrl+shift), to make the toolbar appear directly under the cursor. When you use the same key (combination) again or after you have chosen a tool, the toolbar closes.

This way you will create more space in your…

  14. Flash Drive

I think adding a feature to allow for flash drives to be used would be beneficial. Whenever I have to use Indesign I have to place a picture instead of just opening the file from my flash drive. It doesn't work when you want to use the picture as the main focus for an invitation.

  15. Defining a new condition directly in the F/R window.

Adding the possibility of defining a new condition directly in the F/R window, similarly as in the case of adding character styles.

  17. fix the application frame bug on the mac that cause panels not to appear

I generally do not have my application frame turned on. I know this is a PC thing, but just not natural on a Mac. Often if I donʻt have application frame turned on, many of the panels like layers simply wonʻt display no matter what I do. This seems like a bug to me.

Also there is a bug where the item dot in a layer is not visible so you canʻt move an item easily to another layer. You have to rebuild preferences to get the dot to show again. Again another bug Adobe should be fixing before addin…

  18. show CMYK/RGB at header panel

please make the top panel of each opened document show whether it's in CMYK or RGB space (like photoshop does).
now when i want to know, i must go deep in menu.

    thanks!

  19. Remove (or give option to remove) font information from Contextual Properties style dropdown

The font name/weight/size information now included in the properties dropdown adds a lot of visual clutter without being particularly useful for finding desired styles.

For example, in a typical document I have multiple styles that all use the same font name/weight/size, but differ greatly in other settings-- some are bullets, some have an inset, some have specific nested styles, etc etc. THAT'S what's important about them, not the fact that they share a font name/weight/size.

In addition, because the style name and the style attributes are shown in the same font size/weight in the menu, it's harder to scan down…

  20. Autocomplete style names typed into styles dropdown in properties window

The new contextual properties window would be much handier if the dropdown window had an autocomplete ability similar to what's currently available in the Quick Apply window. The current implementation doesn't save any time, as you still have to navigate through the various options to find the one you want-- something I find more challenging to do thanks to the additional clutter of the font name/weight/point size being included in the dropdown.
