Media Panel is missing all playback settings for MP4 files in InDesign 2020
CC 2020 is missing all its control settings for playing MP4 files in an interactive pdf. Until this year's upgrade you had multiple options on what Controller Functions appeared when playing/displaying MP4's in an Interactive PDF document.
Navigation Points have been re-introduced in the Media panel. This feature is available in the latest release of InDesign (version 16.0). Please use this release to use Navigation Points for Video/Audio files.
However, the Controller options will not be available. As communicated earlier, all options (Controller options being one of them) related to Flash/Flash player have been removed from InDesign as Flash Player is now being EOL’d (End of Life).

Hey im new to Indesign so i might be wrong here, I was frustrated about this too. But if you got to "Window" -> "Interactive" -> "Media" then u can pin it to "Interactive for PDF" im not sure if this has the exact same functionality as the previous version.

same issue. I am building out a web tutorial for client education, since we cant do on site anymore, and the video options are no longer available in the media menu. But they did just fix the flash player for mac so maybe the menu will get fixed too.
Also noticed I tried to put a caption box over the viewer window, to prompt the user to click inside the window to play the video, as I don't want it to auto play, and you cant put anything over the video screen. It just doesn't show up doesn't matter if its locked on a higher layer the flash player screen overrides anything in the same vicinity.
so much for designing it well... least the video plays.

Free JSX script to give you the settings back as a dialog box, see https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/where-are-the-controllers/m-p/11135976?page=2#M186515

yes, thanks to the 89 people who made their input that went into thin air. this obviously isn't getting resolved any time soon, or ever. Adobe has lost touch with its customer base and it doesn't seem to really care about program functionality. the only thing that matters is the number of subscribers $$$$. it's time Adobe sits down with us in the real world to see what it is that we actually do and what we need in a program.

This was 6 months ago and still no answer? When I try adding it in pdf I need to install flash - which won't be supported after the end of the year. Need to be able to use documents for longer than that!

Why has this issue not been competently addressed Adobe? It was flagged 5 months ago. Don't leave your subscribers hanging in mid air.

I believe the problem has to do with Adobe not supporting Flash Player any longer which Apple use for the Media Panel. If Flash Player is no longer supported, then the Mac can't set the functions. As someone below in the thread pointed out it can be fixed by opening the pdf in Acrobat and adding a controller that way. however, this does not help me with my digital publishing!
