Just ran into this issue while trying to work with client branding across Illustrator and InDesign...I could use this feature ASAP! Thanks for working on it, Abhinav and the Adobe crew!

It's difficult for designers working across digital and print mediums to agree on fonts when vfs aren't supported in all Adobe programs. Please prioritize this!

Hi Abhinav, great to hear. Any idea about a time frame, when we can expect it to be implemented? No pressure ;)

+1, this is extremely important for InDesign (and right now is breaking the flow of anything coming from illustrator)

I need this feature! It feels very restricting to go from illustrator to indesign and not have variable font support.

Indesign should be the first to support variable fonts!
And please add sophisticated control, like being able to use them with character/paragraph styles etc. -

Make Variable Font support equivalent to what it is on Illustrator.

Variable fonts offer the kind of nuanced adjustment to type that InDesign has always pioneered. It is an obvious and suitable addition. Odd that it's in Photoshop and Illustrator first--exceedingly odd that it's in those and *not* in InDesign.

This is a feature that should be offered to users in a modern layout software. Thank you!

Please add this feature ASAP. It's far more important in InDesigm than in Illustrator.

Will that be the 2019 release? Or an incremental release?

Widt Axis Variation instead of Glyph Scalibg is something I would really like to have as well. I actially made a Variable font just for easier justification.
Just as important, for me at least, would be PostScript Support. Also a way to leave the font as as ocr searchable text instead of converting it into paths.

Absolutely. The glyph scale feature for justified text should trigger a width axis variation.
