GPU-Acceleration on Windows
It would be brilliant to have this as an option especially since more and more people are using high DPI/4K displays and the CPU is not capable of allowing for smooth zooming/scrolling/panning in most cases. It's working perfectly fine with Photoshop and rather good with Illustrator so I can't see why this shouldn't be possible with InDesign as well.
On my 4K Dell XPS 15 it's quite a pain to scroll through the document or zoom in and out, laggy as hell although this is a very poweful machine!
Thank you all for supporting this feature request.
Moving the feature request to the product backlog.

Discovered this morning that Microsoft Publisher has graphics acceleration. MICROSOFT PUBLISHER!!!! Why does this suggestion not even have a response from Adobe?

+1
as usual, Adobe seems to never use its own software. -

I didn't know this wasn't available on Windows until I started working from home. Mac has a nice refined zoom tool for all Adobe software and Windows has it for every Adobe program EXCEPT InDesign. Why is that? The zoom tool in InDesign is currently clunky and annoying.

This is becoming more and more necessary as the files we use are increasing in resolution. Some of my layouts that include large vectors or big images are almost impossible to navigate, while my powerful GPU sits by doing nothing! Unacceptable.

It frustrates me that Adobe can roll out a UI refresh to make CC look like macOS Big Sur within days of the announcement, but for years we've had buggy inconsistent scaling and GPU performance on Windows. I can't think of any InDesign features added since CS6 that I couldn't live without. GPU acceleration is the SINGLE feature that would transform the experience to match that of the £49 Affinity Publisher.
I hope this will change but with the development needed for ARM based macs, I suspect we'll be waiting a long time for any love on Windows. Prove me wrong Adobe, please.

Any updates @Adobe?

Indesigns Performance is really not acceptable anymore, especially when comparing to other software.
I'm sitting here on a new maxed-out Threadripper Win10-machine; it's absolutely awesome what this machine can do in, for example, Cinema4D+Redshift, zBrush and other highly demanding software.
Then I switch to Indesign and man... it's just like 1998 again. Adobe, please! It's just 2D! Make it liquid butter!

It has been years since this request. This is mind boggling.

I would love for this to be available on Windows. I'm a frequent user of InDesign but am really wanting to move away from MacOS. The lack of GPU Acceleration for InDesign on Windows is shocking, and also happens to be a point of hesitance in moving away from my MacBook at the moment.
It really undermines the purchase of a new Windows machine with a powerful GPU if it can't be utilized by one of the programs I would be using most.

No response from Adobe? Why is this not available?

Oh, I use a 2018 era Ryzen Threadripper 2950X with 128GB RAM, 3 Samsung 970 Pro 1TB drives (Windows, Apps, Swap), 4 850 Pros in RAID 10 for file storage, dual RTX2080s and a 1024x768 14" monochrome crt. Wait. That can't be right. InDesign seems to think I should be using a 1024x768 monochrome crt. So much for dual 4k monitors. At least Photoshop and Illustrator know what century my hardware is from. Sorry for posting again so soon, but I am incredibly frustrated, Adobe. When I go to work and see how InDesign operates on an iMac from 2015 it makes me want to cry.

It's very heartening to see all the attention that Adobe has spent on this issue. Clearly, they value their customers' feedback and needs. There are so many positive and reassuring posts from Adobe representatives, showing that they plan on implementing GPU acceleration in Windows within the time frame of the next InDesign CC update. I am very happy that I have been a loyal Adobe customer since 1998. They are a shining example of how a creative software company should operate. There is no reason for me to look elsewhere...

I thought I was the only one with this issue, had to google it. I can't believe this isn't supported on Windows. Why hasn't adobe addressed this in any way?!

Same case here... This is the last layout I do using InDesign... Switching to Affinity Publisher.

Aside from MathML, this is now the top-ranking request for InDesign without a response from Adobe. Please can we have this at least acknowledged?
As paying subscribers we were told that Creative Cloud would accelerate the development and innovation of our software tools... We're not even asking for that, just basic performance to bring the software to the level macOS users experience, or Windows users of the £49 one-off Afininty Publisher even. Come on Adobe.

May we please have an engineer or someone from Adobe at least give us an idea of where this feature is in the development pipeline?

Yes please! What is the real reason behind Adobe not doing this for windows? Adobe, please please can we have this feature already?

I would love GPU acceleration on Windows! It's sad that my 7 year old MacBook runs inDesign faster, graphically, than my high performance PC. You'd think Adobe would implement this, since they already have support in Premiere and After effects.
