Yes, why hasn't scrubby zoom been a thing in InDesign already? Please add it. I'm SURE if you read a couple articles on the internet you'll glean at least a minor understanding of what muscle memory is. MOST of us designers use multiple apps -- it should be SEAMLESS to move between them. There are so many inconsistencies it makes me want to throw a metaphorical brick through this company's metaphorical windows! So while you're at it, please make the Pen tool behave consistently also. Thanks.

GPU Acceleration on Windows is available with the latest InDesign 2025(v20.4.0.052). Please update to the latest InDesign via the CCD app to get this feature.

The minimum system requirements for using GPU Acceleration on

    1. Windows are: Monitor with a display resolution greater than 2K
    2. GPU card with at least 1GB vRAM.

Note on GPU Acceleration: High-resolution monitors are becoming the standard. With the high monitor resolutions, it is getting difficult for the CPU to handle the rendering. This is where the GPU comes into play. Rendering on high-density displays is best handled by the GPU. GPU acceleration makes the rendering of the documents faster while zooming, scrolling, and panning. The enhanced performance from using the GPU in InDesign powers features like Animated Zoom, which make zoom actions smooth and animated.

Based on our internal tests, we found that GPU acceleration provides better performance when the monitor's display resolution is…

I want scrubby zoom in ID that works EXACTLY as it does on AI & PS (2020+) for me. I don't have the GPU option under preferences, but this should work ANYWAY. You guys need to get some consistency between your products. Humans work on muscle memory. I use AI a lot, and PS quite a bit, so when I move over to ID my hands do the motions to which they are accustomed. Start listening to your users, and thinking about their workflows and needs for a change.

This is occurring in Windows 7 as well. It happened the first time I ever tried scrolling through glyphs. It is a font where the glyphs are microscopic for some reason. I clicked the increase ("mountain") icon to make them legible, and immediately unable to scroll. Click the decrease and make them illegible and I can scroll if there are only 2 pages of glyphs. Increase the size to more than that and it will not scroll.

With this issue, I can see only the first few rows and last few rows of glyphs.
