Convert PDF to INDD
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC can edit PDF's read images and text, and it is possible to edit, so why is this function not available in Adobe Indesign? Indesign has more control and the only feature that will needed to be added is detecting strokes/filled objects converting filled lines or shapes to one to the other.
Thank you all for the feedback.
We have added this feature in our backlog. Will share more updates when we pick this up for implementation.
Thanks

1) Sometimes you only have a PDF file to work with, and it needs to be heavily edited and updated; or it needs to have a full-fledge ID file created from it. Clients sometimes don't have the original file a designer did for them, only a PDF; or it was created from QXP or Publisher or CorelDraw, etc.
2) The entire thing, and optionally, some pages
3) Acrobat does an incredible job of converting PDFs to editable Word and Excel files. It's incomprehensible and a little embarrassing it can't export/convert to a program owned by the same company.

Currently
step 1
I open the pdf in Acrobat, I export it to Word file.
step 2 I created an InDesign file and
step 3 I import the word file.
step 4 I can manipulate text using paragraph styles, crop images etc.Direct convert PDF file to InDesign file from a Acrobat or direct open a pdf file in InDesign would really save time and surely quality

Couldn't agree more that this function is needed. Already offered by major competitor.
