Same functionality for artboard import that Object Layer Styles has.
I use the Object Layer Styles feature (importing PSD and Ai files) very frequently, and it has saved so much time of not having to reimport a file over and over just to turn a different layer on.. However, if I want to show different artboards instead of different layers from a file, I have to reimport the file.

Change "w" as a quick key between normal and preview mode!!!
This letter changes between normal and preview mode hiding bleed and pasteboard. It also if you mistakenly are in a text box removes entire editorial sections causing thousand in reprint costs. Everyone I know has had this disaster happen to them and all complain about this. Please change the default to a combination of keys to prevent these problems. We will have to get used to it but everyone will thank you.

subscription
I canceled my subscription to Indesign because I just used it 3 ou 4 times a year and 300 Euros by year it is quite expensive. I try to have acces to my files and I can not open it. I suggest that, in case as like me you spent more than 1000 euros to adobe, you can still have acces at Indesign file and use the version of Indesign you had when you stop your subscription. I really have the feeling to be stollen by adobe.

Picture frame and actual picture selecting
Sometimes, I just wanna click on the whole frame+picture and move it up/left/down but it selects the picture INSIDE and therefore moves out of the blue frame. Sometimes I need to move the picture inside of the frame and it selects the blue frame instead. And it keeps happening on random like no care for double click, one click or 1000000000milions click. Just add some idk, alt, shift, control, ctrl+alt+shift combination or whatever feature for it to be selecting either the frame or the picture. SEPARATELY! Ability to open Quark Express 4.0 files
Old versions could open Quark files .. new one does not seem to have that function.

Being able to Copy Past saved photos from Microsoft "Photo Gallery" and "Pictures" and "Photos"to 'Bridge'
This would make Adobe software less of a pain in the .......brain

indesign crashes when using Mathmagic pro Pulgin when using keyboard but works better when using mouse for selection.

Bug on Windows PC: Hot keys / shortcuts inactive til document is saved
Every time I open InDesign for the first time, it won't let me use hot keys / shortcuts until I've saved the document at least once. This issue isn't present on Mac.

Improve compatibility with input methods that use Apple's standard approach (InputMethodKit)
There are four problems we have identified in InDesign that negatively affect its compatibility with input methods that follow Apple's standard approach using InputMethodKit. These compatibility problems are described in detail here: https://github.com/keymanapp/keyman/issues/782.
This is of particular concern to SIL because we have developed [Keyman](keyman.com), a very popular and widely used input method that supports custom keyboards in hundreds of languages, including many major languages whose complex scripts are best served by the powerful options in Keyman as well as minority languages whose only viable option for text input might be Keyman.

Document Open Window/pane.
Document Open pane. The break up of recent, earlier and older documents is confusing. I'd prefer it to alphabetical order.

wrong document opens from the start page
There is very useful start page with last opened document thumbnails, but after update it opens everytime diferent documents, than it shows. It works fine using menu "file/open last documents". I can point the mouse on the thunmbnail, it shows the right path to the document, but it opens diffrent one. I havent found any order.

crash indesign IDML
Hello,
we have a problem on mac when exporting from the network to an IDML file
The Mac is under macOS 10.12.6
There is always a crash of Indesign V13.1 during the backup on the network (smb) in IDML format
Versions 13.01 and 13.1 have been tried

Latest InDesign version buggy
Latest version update is crashing, files getting corrupted, and it is not recognizing typing when first letter is lowercase.

Option to cancel exporting to JPG
Currently there is no option to cancel exporting the indesign file to JPG.
Once the process is started we are not able to cancel it.
If there is a 100-page document exported to jpg we have to wait a lot of time depending on the system spec.
If there is a cancel process button where it shows the process of exporting that will be great.1 vote -
CS6 future use
32-bit CS6 InDesign works with High Sierra, though with some minor irritations. It will not work at all once Mac goes over solely to 64-bit. It is disgraceful that Adobe tries to make one go over to subscription-only CC. I for one, and I am sure I am not the only one, want nothing to do with a cloud-based subscription, with which you lose access to your own work if you stop paying the sub. For this reason, in preparation for the future, I have just bought 64-bit non-subscription QuarkXpress, at a roughly half-price offer for such as InDesign users…

When you issue a new version of ANY Adobe package keep the help text in synch
It is a poor indicator of an organisations ability to manager Quality Control in it's software when it allows the hep text to fall behind the release cycle. Using the most recent version of CC Indesign, the Help text suggests that I am able to add a new page by using the pages panel. It further goes in to say that if it is NOT visible it will be in the Window menu. When I check the menu there is no such facility.

Choose page number when inserting a PDF
When inserting a pdf into a frame box, it would be nice to be able to select which page number you'd like to insert (with a preview). Similar to when you open a PDF in illustrator.

Create an hyperlink to a "not specific" file or folder with a generic name like "AAA*.pdf"
To make an hyperlink to a “not specific” file or folder.
For example:
In the reference folder I can have a file named “TIM 111.pdf” or “TIM 222.pdf”.
I would like to make a hyperlink like “TIM*.pdf” that opens the file that I have in the reference folder without specified the complete file name.1 vote
