Hi everyone,
InDesign provides an option to export and import User Settings, providing users with a smooth and enhanced experience to restore their custom settings if needed. The feature is now available in the latest InDesign 2024(v19.3.0.058)

The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update (14.0.2) of InDesign 2019.
If you are unable to see the update notification, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.If you face any problems with the new update, do let us know in the comments.

We have fixed the issue in the latest version of InDesign, Id 15.0Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the fix.

Hello All,
Thank you for your support. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.

Same here. Panels not loading or unable to open them at program start. Restart required. Getting a bit tired of this. This has been going on for years now, same accounts for Photoshop / Illustrator BTW.
TIP: delete InDesign caches first, this often solves many problems.
On Mac delete them here:
User/Library/Caches/
Delete these folders:
1) Adobe Indesign
2) com.adobe.InDesign
When this doesn't work then delete preferences, setup InDesign again (yes, sigh, again!). Quit InDesign and copy the Preferences folder to a different location. Find ID preferences here:
User/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version XX — in my case Version 14
When InDesign goes awry again (yes, again) just quit and copy the preferences folder you saved back to the system preferences folder, overwrite existing ID prefs folder and be done. For a while at least. This saves you some time setting up the whole application again.
