How much time do you need to figure out the variable fonts support is pathetic? A year? Two years? Adobe, wake up. We use InDesign for work, for business. We need tools that work. I tried several fonts by David Jonathan Ross, they work well in Axis Praxis. And guess what: the variable font sliders do not modify the appearance of the font at all in InDesign.

I am afraid Adobe is not interested in this feature. I recommend using much better, faster and reliable plugin Annotations.
The user interface of this feature in InDesign is pathetic, only a few notes can fit on the panel (compared to Annotations), you cannot select multiple notes, you cannot copy-paste parts of the comments easily, it is a typical half baked feature. It is obvious Adobe team does not test new features in real world: what may work fine in a document of 10 pages may not work in a complex document of 300+ pages. There were complains about the implementation of this feature years ago :-( And yes, it is incredibly slow, really ssssslllllloooooooooow! And there are some OpenType features related to a selected character (swash, small cap), you cannot apply the correction, you have to click ten times or apply another correction first. This is crazy how poorly this works. Or does not work.Filip Blazek supported this idea ·

Constant resetting of keyboard shortcuts is very annoying. Adobe, wake up! I face the same issue.

Why do you falsely state here that the problem was "fixed"? I've tried many variable fonts with multiple axes in 19.1 prerelease and not a single one works. On Axis Praxis, these fonts work without a problem. So the fault is on Adobe's side.
Or is this a way to subtly remove OTvar font support from InDesign? Like what happened to Type 1 or Pantone colors?
