+1 - we can also only do this with a 3rd party acrobat plug-in...

E-Mail is sent. – Text from my mail:

As far as i can tell i have never seen this issue in previous versions - I can not downgrade to a previous version to confirm this - our IT-Department handles all the updates etc.
We are working a lot with „Icon-Fonts“ that get an extra contour for readability on certain backgrounds - and this behavior got reported in a new Project we are planing with CC 2019.

Basically you can take almost any font and play around with lowering PT size / giving it a larger contour.
(Goal in our publication was that we had icons (round circles) with the numbers cut out - on white background this was no problem at all but when we hat to set those on images we solved this by adding a contour that fills the inside with white. In some cases it works but a lot of times it looks like shown in the pdf.)

Saving the Data as UTF-16 txt file with Excel always works fine for us. - We also had a lot of issues with UTF-8.

Could be because you have selected Table-Cells and not the actual text content.
Try selecting some text that should work.

Otherwise you have to select the Frame and use story
Also you can limit your search to a set paragraph style.. etc.

That is possible - select multiple objects and DONT set a key object. then it should work just fine.

You can just type "italic" or "oblique" and it will only list those. not perfect but works for me.

    Check your object formats:
A: With all documents closed (This will fix newly created documents but not your existing docs)
B: In the document that has the problems (see above... already created documents will have the wrong styles as well)
C: Click the rectangle-tool without creating one - do you have a stroke set? if so the new frame will be created like this - likely caused by "A/B"

    :)

Workaround till it's fixed - add a space before your chevron and give it a negative kerning of something like -600

That happens because this is a document preference and an application preference.
You have to make this setting with all documents closed (newly created documents will have it enabled then) but in your old documents it will still be turned off.

So... You have to check it every time you open a document and yes it is a horrible design choice of the preferences in general.

PDF on what is a document setting can be downloaded here with a free membership (this is no ad for ind. secrets.. feel free to google another source)

Is this fixed in the newest update? kbdoc doesn't count as a fix for me
