1. High CPU usage

   High CPU usage on Win 10 (Asus NB) since version 17. Still remains (after many updates, 17.3 included). Not usable software.

   So I'm using version 16, and there is no problem with CPU.

2. Can't Click/Drag Large Area of Main Title Bar

   This was introduced in 17.0 and I was hoping it would be fixed by 17.3 but it hasn't been addressed.

   Large areas of the title bar can't be clicked on/interacted with so one can't drag/move the main program window.

   I'd say about 50% of the title bar is like this.

3. De-Stick Alt Key After Zoom

   When I press and hold the ALT key (Windows) to zoom with the mouse wheel, it doesn't release the way a sticky key should - once finished with mouse wheel zooming, I have to tap the Alt key a -second- time to release it. Not doing this results in the menu bar becoming active. Example: Press and hold Alt and zoom with the wheel. Finish zooming and release the sticky alt key. Now Tap the letter W to enter Preview mode ... but instead of Preview Mode, InDesign will drop down the --W--indow Menu, tapping W again then drops down the --W--orkspace menu etc. This is a workflow killer.

   Adobe has other sticky keys that muscle memories remember (space bar, etc..) so to expect a) the user to remember that this tool behaves -different- and b) the user now has to add -additional- key strokes makes for a bad user interface experience.

4. Black horizontal lines appear on screen when scrolling

   When I expand the Indesign window to fill 90% of my 27" screen, I get numerous black horizontal lines appearing when scrolling. Other editing functions typical when handling type on a layout also produce random broken lines. If I click a page forward or back arrow, the lines disappear. I was first using v16.2 and just upgraded to 16.3.2 today with same results. Just discovered I have to reduce the widow size to about 75% of my screen size for the lines to not appear at all. Never had this happen on previous versions and need almost full screen width to handle complicated layouts. IOS Big Sur 11.4 on 27" iMac.

5. InDesign Slow in MacOS Catalina when using a calibrated screen profile.

   I am an experienced user of Adobe products for over 20 years. My current subscription is to Adobe Creative Suite (full). I am using a Mac Pro running MacOS 10.15.7 (Catalina) on NVMe SSD with 48 GB RAM and AMD 5700 XT GPU with 8GB VRAM. All Adobe apps are up to date.

   If I use a calibrated screen profile, InDesign becomes extremely slow, so that every selection of a menu item, every key-press, every pan or drag, becomes incredibly slow.

   This fault is independent of document size (it happens with a new document, with one blank page). It is also consistently and instantly repeatable. To be clear on this: if I open System Preferences > Displays > Color and switch between a calibrated profile and the default "Apple RGB" InDesign switches between slow and fast respectively.

   I have changed InDesign preferences with no effect. I have also deleted caches, preferences and application support files in ~/Library, also with no effect. I have uninstalled InDesign and the whole Creative Suite completely, removing all trace from my system, and reinstalled them, also with no effect.

   This issue affects Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. It does not appear to affect Photoshop. It does not appear to affect products from other developers either (eg: Capture One Pro), therefore I believe the cause to be something with those two Adobe products.

   I would be grateful for a fix, or even to have your assurance that this is a known issue, and a solution is in the pipeline.

6. Montserrat Font Constantly trying to load in InDesign

   Whenever I open an InDesign file the background task starts up and it is Montserrat Bold trying to load. This occurs no matter what file I have open and whether or not the file uses the font being loaded.

7. INDESIGN CRASHING WHEN TRYING TO THREAD OR BREAK TEXT THREAD BOX

   SINCE LAST THURSDAY WHEN I AM WORKING WITH A FILE AND I AM TRYING TO BREAK BEFORE OR AFTER A THREADED TEXT BOX IT CRASHES WHEN USING SCRIPT. HOWEVER ALSO WHEN I TRY TO THREAD A TEXT BOX SO THE TEXT CAN KEEP FLOWING IT CRASHES AS WELL. THIS IS MAJOR MAKING INDESIGN PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE.

   BEEN REPORTING CRASH REPORTS BUT COMING BACK ON MONDAY AND SEEING NO UPDATES TO FIX THIS ISSUE

9. Disappointed with Adobe

   For me the last 2-3 InDesign updates have been just misery; I cannot work without the spinning wheel showing for every little change I do, so I have had to work on an older version. I was hoping the last update (15.1) would fix this, but no; I had to install an older version again. When will you fix this lagging problem which has been present in every update the last 1-2 years?

10. Spinning wheel keeps running make program not responding

    When starting up InDesign 2020 (15.0.3) it runs a ok for a couple of minutes, then the spinning wheel comes on/off randomly. When on its impossible to use the program.
    Its the program CEP Html Engine causing the problem. A lot of instances is started up (se attached image). Tried to debug the problem and found that its the file cef.pak (in CEP Program folder) that’s the problem. When removing this, everything is fine except that the startup popup is missing.

11. Bugs with GPU, Bugs without GPU (zoom, moving objects, create text)

    Hi there,

    so for a couple of weeks, my Indesign behaves quite badly.
    For demonstration purposes, I created a new blank file but these bugs also occur in existing work projects.

    Case 1: GPU switched on (Image: GPU on):
    Zooming does not show any effect, only when I click in and change something. The rulers change, but my board/document is not zooming in (Video: Zooming with GPU). As soon as I found my page, the objects don't really move that well, more in a lagging, stocking way. (Video: Moving Objects with GPU).

    This leads to massive pain when you try to work fluently.

    Case 2: So I switched GPU off (Image GPU off):
    This helped with the zoom, it worked again. But then creating objects, for example, text, totally lagged in showing the content. Creating a new text field and typing anything in it leaves it completely blank until I choose a different tool or click outside the box. Also moving those objects does not happen in real time and does not show any preview. (Video: Type and Move without GPU)

    This, too, makes it really hard to build any kind of fluent workflow right now.

    I uninstalled and installed InDesign and Creative Cloud repeatedly. Other applications don't seem to be affected (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD).

    So. Any suggestions?

    When I now need to do things in InDesign, I have to give it away to a colleague or use his Computer. Could it also be something with the internal graphics? But why do all other apps work so well then and it's only InDesign behaving badly.

12. InD responding slowly

    This isn't a "bug" per se, but InD has slowed to a crawl when using. Doesn't matter if I am trying to select text, change tools, or click on a menu item. It's been going very slow for a while now, doesn't matter the file. I have tried to trash preferences and reinstall InD, and nothing has changed it. Oh, and I just have major lag, not a spinning ball.

    I am Win10, InD CC 14.0.2. The only plug-in I am running is Suitcase Fusion, and that is up to date as well.

    Help please, as InDesign is unusable at this speed. Maybe I will try to go back to an older version and see if that helps.

13. InDesign performance issue: Lags when selecting and moving items using wacom tablet

    On a iMac with 32 GB RAM running under macOS 10.14.4 (18E226) InDesign v.14.0.2.324 with Wacom Intuos Pro tablet (6.3.24-1) in some documents cursor / items handling is unresponsive, lagging or too sensitive (click is registered when there was no click, dragging happens yet it wasn't been ignited).

14. spinning beach ball when clicking into text box

    When clicking on a text box to edit text or move box, spinning beach ball delays response by 5 seconds to over a minute. Happens with text tool or select tools. Only way to solve this issue is to work offline. My internet is fine. I use many other apps besides indd and do not have delay issues. Never had a problem prior to the integration of Typekit in most recent versions. MacOS 10.14.3.
    Attached are some screen grabs showing recent freezes. Spinning beach ball is not visible, but that's what I am seeing. Thank you for your attention.

15. Slow lag time typing and generating raster image

    I have not had this problem before but there is about a 2 second lag on everything from typing to panning around. I have aerial images via PDFs linked into the file (5 of them) and I'm placing leaders and text on top. The document is only 5 pages and it's very frustrating-please help!

16. Can't scroll through pages in presentation mode

    2017.1 Release, 12.1.0.56 Build
    macOS Sierra version 10.12.6

    When I go to the presentation mode, I am not able to scroll through the pages. Whether i use the trackpad, arrow keys, or change the keyboard shortcuts.

    Hello All,
    There has to be a scenario in which the scrolling of the document is not working in presentation mode because, otherwise it is not reproducible at our end.
    I can observe that, pages do not scroll while making a vertical gesture on the mouse, but through other methods such as, click, arrow key pages can be scrolled easily.

    Are you able to scroll using clicks and arrow keys?
    Is it the case that, the issue is intermittent or only happens in a specific scenario?
    Also, let us know your machine details such its configuration, OS version and Id version

    This can help us to get to the bottom of the issue

17. [ID-4264855] Issue with Animated Zoom in GPU

    New PC GPU zoom doesn't seem to centre the zoom on the cursor leading to not super useful behaviour (you have to zoom and then drag with the hand tool to get back to what you were originally trying to zoom into). It's very disorientating.

18. Lag in 20.0 and higher

    The lag in 20.0 and its updates is hard to stomach. We pay a lot for this app and it is VERY difficult to work with these issues. Evey time I click on something in a document - no matter how large a file - there is lag. Text boxes, images, color shapes/boxes. I have a brand new Mac Studio with Apple M2 Ultra and 128GB Memory - I have more than enough power to support your app. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. I have tried all of the troubleshooting offered to no avail, and I shouldn't have to trouble shoot to make it function properly.

19. Constantly forgetting Workspace setting

    InDesign 20.1, as well as pretty much every version since 2019 continually forget my WorkSpace setting, so that when I boot ID, it randomly thinks I'm new, and so it loads the annoying popups and product tours and the almost ubiquitous blue alert at the bottom helping me with saving my settings.

    Fix this.
