  1. Cannot add CC Library P/C styles to documents more than one at a time

New problem: suddenly I can't add paragraph/character styles from CC Libraries to documents unless I choose them one-by-one.
(I'm trying to overwrite a previous version of the same styles, which to date I have done without issue nearly every day for months.)
I have made no changes to my system (InDesign2018 Version 13.1 on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.4).

    Description of behavior:

    1. Select list of Character (or Paragraph) styles and right-click to use option to add to the current document. "Add" option NOT available.

    2. Select single Character (or Paragraph) style and right click to use option to add to the…

  2. Redefine Paragraph Style

»Redefine InDesign Style« does not work for »Ruby Point Size« and »Kenten Size« after scaling.

This results in paragraph style overrides.

  3. Changing case from caps to lowercase

The first letter of a new paragraph has automatically changed from caps to lower case after an A level heading in my document. It only relates to this heading levels and occurs in 85% of instances in a 90 page document. I have checked the Word file and cannot find an issue there. I have not been able to replicate the issue since it has been picked up in the proof reading process. I am using the current inDesign CC version and Adobe Typekit fonts.

  4. Based on paragraph styles have issues when created by script

When creating styles via a script, styles that are based on other styles are not overwriting style attributes properly. i.e.:
    p - font: Arial, size: 10.5, leading: 13, indent 8
    p-first: based-on, p, indent 0
The indent may or may not actually be set to 0 if those two styles are created by a script. If I fix the indent manually in InDesign, any of the styles that are based off of p-first would update properly.

  5. space before and after ordered and unordered lists

I'd like to space before and after fields added to the Bullets and Numbering panel of paragraph styles. I often prefer to base my ULs and OLs on my body style which includes the space applied to the end of the paragraph. I can remove the space but then my list item lack the proper spacing for the last item in the list. I fix this by creating a last item style and apply it manually but this is a real pain. It would be nice to have space before and after fields to adjust the padding around a list,…

  6. Unable to add Paragraph Styles to Creative Cloud Library, InDesign 2018

Not sure how you can reproduce this as I haven't found anybody else with this problem, but hopefully you can figure out how to help me. I cannot add paragraph styles to the Library, and I have tried every way:"+" button on the panel with text selected, cloud button on the styles panel, dragging from the panel... nothing works. Everything else--including character styles--can be added normally.

Under Review  ·  Anasuiya Gupta responded

The issue is due to the Kerning being set as None, if one sets it as Optical or Metrics, it solves the issue. The issue is currently under review.

  7. Table of Contents running heads

The Table of Contents should have an option to include just the running head portion of a paragraph, often in a bold style in my documents. Otherwise one has to manually strip out all the text that follows after a running head in the Table of Contents.

  9. Text Frame Autosize

    Hello,
I tried to update a Text Frame Object style to have the Text Frame Autosize Height and Width but it squishes the text box as thin and possible. But it repects the existing text without squishing when it's only Autosize Width. I've noticed it before but it's an interesting bug. I did play around with the placement reference point but it all stayed squished. Not a major bug and it could be user error on my part if there is a setting elsewhere I need to click to get it to just resize the text box to fit the…

  10. suggest an idea

InDesign would benefit from an option that allows Apply Next Style (or a Paragraph Style setting) to automatically detect the final paragraph in a contiguous sequence and then apply an alternate “last paragraph” style. This is especially useful for designs where a repeated list uses a separator — for example, in a “Materials and Tools” box where each item has a rule below, but the final item should appear without the rule.

At present, this requires manually applying a separate “last item” style to the final paragraph every time such a box is created. Giving InDesign the ability to recognise…

  11. Writing in Arabic is not possible in the new version

In the new version, it looks that writing in Arabic is not possible (the letters are not connected). Is this a bug? I tried to reinstall the new version and I already have my other Adobe products and account set to "English support Arabic" in languages

  12. Object Style defined to ignore Nonprinting changes Nonprinting status when applied to grouped frames

Object Style defined to ignore Text Wrap & Other, when applied to a group of two frames where one has Nonprinting applied and the other does not, changes the Nonprinting status.

Expected result: attributes in a category that is greyed out will be ignored, including Nonprinting.

Actual result: Nonprinting turned off and frame prints and is visible in Overprint Preview.

Pictured: The only intended purpose of the object style is to change position of frame. 1: The two frames are grouped. Large frame is live, small frame is note for designer. 2: The object style as defined. (By the way,…

  14. Bullets, Nested Style through End Nested Style Marker Causes Visible Shift

Indesign 2025, Mac OS Ventura 13.7.2

I've created a bullet style with a nested style that applies a character style to the type up through the first ":".

I duplicated that style and changed the nested style setting to apply the same character style up through the first "end nested style marker".

When I set a paragraph to the second style, the type shifts position. No other change was made to the second style other than changing the parameters of the nested style.

I have no idea why this is happening. I cannot find a baseline shift or other setting…

  15. When duplicating groups in Cell Styles, new styles are not appended with " copy", two styles with same namae

When duplicating a group of cell styles, the resulting duplicate group's name is appended with " copy" but the style names contained within that group folder are not appended with " copy" and therefore you have duplicate style names in the Cell Styles. Additionally, when duplicating more than one style within a group, sometimes multiple "copy" styles are created, and other times, they are not, rather, the edit style dialog box appears...but on save, no style is saved into the group. Seems a bit kluge.

  16. paragraph style override with archivo font

I have setup a set of paragraph styles with different usage, but all of them can't be applied to my document. It keeps on giving me archivo black which is not the setting. During setup, all of them works well, but once applied to new textbox, regardless of what font that i chose, it will only give me archivo black font

  17. Typing letter in Paragraph/Character style Shortcut field results in invisible shortcut being assigned

How to reproduce this serious bug:

-Double-click a Paragraph or Character Style to edit
-Type a letter in the Shortcut field
    -Witness the field remanining blank
    -Click OK.

Typing this letter in the document will now assign this style, while the letter remains invisible in the Shortcut field.

A solution (provided the user will ever figure out what's going on) is to select all (Cmd-A) in the shortcut field and press delete (or maybe just delete is enough).

  19. InDesign 20.2

20.2 has broken my Ad Import plugin. The defaults that worked 2 weeks ago don't work.

The label is not transparent. The box that the ad is in is transparent — it should be white. If I use the Object Style, the ad doesn't resize to fit content to the box.
