2. text wrap detect edges

   ID 13.1 x64, Win 7, AI 22.1 64 bit
   Text wrap w/detect edges may not detect text in AI file, may not detect shapes well. Have AI file with graphic and text placed in anchored frame in ID doc. If set to wrap around shape, detect edges, text in ID doc runs through text in AI graphic. Also (noted in in forums ) text may not wrap around white or nearly white shapes in AI graphic.

3. Graphic Frame Text Wrap in Find/Change Object

   I'm running InDesign 12.0.0.1 (2017) on mac OS 10.12.6 (Sierra). I was originally trying to write a script to automate changing text wrapping on all graphic frames in the active document to wrap to the largest area (TextWrapSideOptions.LARGEST_AREA). When I couldn't get a script that should have worked to function properly, I decided to try automating Find/Change Object queries. That's when I discovered that the manual queries weren't function. Allow me to elaborate:

   Here's what I want to do:
   Change the "Wrap Options > Wrap To" setting (TextWrapSideOption) for all graphic frames to "Largest Area" (TextWrapSideOptions.LARGESTAREA). This should really only have to apply to those graphic frames set to "Wrap around bounding box" (TextWrapModes.BOUNDINGBOXTEXTWRAP) and "Wrap to contour" (TextWrapModes.CONTOUR).

   Here's the problem:
   It only works if the graphic frame is set to "Wrap to contour." If the graphic frame is set to "Wrap to bounding box," then it either reports "Cannot find match," or it purports to have found the objects and have changed them, but does not actually change their text wrap modes. I've tried specifying the "Wrap to..." setting in the Find/Change query and many other setting (which are all unnecessary, if the graphic frame is set to "Wrap to contour"), and nothing works.

   I've scoured the internet, and even my not-inconsiderable Google fu has turned up nothing on this problem. I have, however, reproduced it on several machines in my office. For your reference, I've included a set of screenshots from various simple queries and their results. With the help of an expert, here's the script I developed that should have done the trick:

4. Images with same name confusion

   We've had a couple of instances in the past month with InDesign documents linking to different images that happen to have the same name and are in 2 different file locations. It seems that in some instances, InDesign will take it upon itself to relink the wrong images even though those images haven't been touched (either on the file system or in the InDesign file). There has been one occasion where this happened and it wasn't spotted until the document was printed with the wrong images in and today someone noticed while working on the file that an image had changed.

   If it helps, these have both been images copied directly out of a .docx or .pptx file where you rename the file .zip, decompress it and then you can directly access the images from there (which happen to be called image1.jpg, image2.jpg, etc.)

5. when I export to pdf or jpeg, ID says file already exists!

   when I try to export a file to pdf or jpeg, InDesign tells me file already exists. How can I fix this?? Also, I'm getting messages that I don't have permission to open or modify files. Using ID 2018

6. First page of a linked PDF file repeats itself throughout layout.

   I have a 20 page template where each page has two image boxes that links to a 40 page PDF for a printer spread setup. But on random occurrences, the first page of the PDF file repeats itself throughout the layout. Has anybody else experienced this?

7. proof colors grayscale

   Indesign 13.1, OSX

   Placed grayscale images are not displayed correctly when Proof colours is on. In fact, their appearance does not chang in any way when proofing is turned on. I'm using the WAN-IFRANewspaper profile.

8. thick thin rules with fill, the inner corner radius leaves a gap

   5 point thick thin rules with fill the inner corner radius needs to be smaller.
   currently it leaves a small gap. which looks bad when trapping for printing.

9. Embedded images in InDesign are not printing and only preview in Typical Display Mode.

   Need assisistance on MAC OS 10.13.4 running CC Version 13.1 InDesign will not print embedded images. It prints grey boxed with the X though it.
   Will only preview in Typical Display mode but not on High Quality Resolution.
   Please assist asap.

10. I am stuck on a single image. I can't click off of it

    I am stuck on a single image. I tried reopening InDesign. It helped with that image I was stuck on, but once I clicked on a new image the same thing is happening. I am stuck on it until I restart indesign. I can't do this through my entire project!!!!!

11. Placed objects with alt-clicking land beyond the pasteboard

    InDesign CC 2018 13.1
    MacOS High Sierra
    When placing multiple artboards or pages (from .ai or pdf files) and alt-clicking on a page, placed objects try to "jump" it seems on the previous spread (when it exists). Please see the attached file.

13. Placement cropping set to "Art" when relinking an Indd file to a pdf

    1. A bug in Indesign 13.0.1. Mac OSX

    2. Place an Indd document inside one.
       Relink all instances of said link to a pdf file created from the linked Indd file.
       The placement option changes to "Art" regardless of what has been the last option set when placing pdf:s.

    3. Expected to the pdf's retain cropping to media as is the case with Indd files OR retain cropping from last set option in the Place pdf dialog.

    4. Pdfs cropped to "Art".

    We had a booklet that the client wanted to swap the position of two ads. I copied the ad from one page pasted onto the desired page and vice versa with the other ad. At some point those ads resized inside their boxes to 114% which caused information to be cut off in the ad. The ad was given to us with a bleed and crop marks which is what we cropped out with the frame. The 114% that the ad enlarged to is the amount of space the bleed and crop marks would take up. We do have the Preserve Image Dimensions when Relinking box is checked in the preferences. Not sure if this is a bug but we have over 100 links in this file and only two had this issue.

    Hatched stroke styles aren't distributed evenly around ellipses and circles. The last segment appears twice. Works fine with dotted line, though.

16. For some reason my design in indesign is not fully visible when i am working on it, even when i select fast display or high quality display

    it is so annoying to be working on my design and not to be able to see all of my work on my screen as so much of it is blank, and is only visible when i export it as a jpeg. THis is so unprofessional and inconsistent when trying to design that i can clearly see all of my work as i edit and improve it. Can you please investigate and improve the software so my work is visible as i continue to edit. Also have the screen is in grey and the other half in white like a triangle, why is this?

    This looks like an issue with corrupt application preferences file.
    Please see if clearing out the application preferences by following the steps mentioned here : (https://forums.adobe.com/message/2404821#2404821) makes the issue go away.

18. Can't place an image from external HD

    Trying to import any image from an external SSD (Adata SD700) drive isnt working. The image place box works, but when selecting the Adata drive it closes and wont import.

20. Edit with/Other cannot open an application on MacOS

    Select a placed image in InDesign. Choose Edit With / Other from the menu. When double clicking an application in the Open File dialog, InDesign opens the .app folder instead of executing the app.

    The behaviour is observed in CC2015, CC2017 and CC2018
