Version 15.0.2 - Images are pixelated after exporting file to PDF.
The work around I've found is to go to Compression and turn off Bicubic downsampling. And select Do not downsample.

Indesgin sucks at exporting interactive PDF.
Developers, answer me, please.
I used InDesign to make e-books (interactive PDF).
But every e-book was very heavy with 10 MB or more, even though I left the quality of the images at 72 or 96 DPI, and still using few images. It gets very heavy especially if you use dynamic links from Photoshop and Illustrator.
I tried everything, but I couldn't solve this problem. Is there any way to resolve this?
At Microsoft Publisher, Affinity Publisher and even Canva or Power Point it is much easier to have a light PDF with good quality images. I believe this is…2 votes -
cross-reference
If a paragraph selected as a cross-reference spans two pages (e.g. a header that spans two pages), the generated cross-reference links to the second page in the pdf. This behavior seems incorrect. The cross-reference should link to the beginning of the paragraph.

CC2020 missing text upon export to pdf - significant loss of functionality
A document exported to PDF from Indesign CC2020 fails to export the character U+06DD. There is a blank space instead. The only work around is to save as IDML and open and export with Indesign CC2019. CC2019 works just fine. Export choice (PDFx 3 or 1 or etc) does not matter. There is no difference between the two attached files. I exported the 01GEN CC2020.pdf first from Indesign CC2020 and you can see that the character is invisible (but still there). Then I saved the file to IDML, opened it with CC2019, and exported it without any edits. You can…

Can not create PDF, links apparently broken?

Thanks,

have to choose export folder every time
In CC2019 and before, Indesign seemed to remember, in which folder it was exporting last. So when I was in Job A, it would offer me Folder A to begin with. When I was in Job B, it would offer mit Folder B to begin with.
In CC2020 (under 10.15.1) it seems Indesign shows the last folder I was woring in. So when I am in Job A an chose Folder A by hand, then close the job and open Job B, When exporting the file would be saved in folder A. Which is quite annoying to be honest. I…

Multipage PDF Export failure -Backgrond task running constantly
PDF export constantly runs as background task with zero percent progress until I force quit InDesign, delete the temp recovery file, and delete the "zero bytes" PDF that InDesign failed to genereate. If I leave it and reexport once running InDesign again it happens again. I've found it takes deleting the recovery file (.idlk) and the PDF that has zero data at the location I tried exporting to. Once I do that it seems to work. My InDesign file is multiple pages (32). Smaller page counts and data files seem to work although my InDesign file isn't that large. Once…

Image tags all grouped in their own article at the end of the tags panel
I have set up articles in multiple files InDesign 2020 (files first created in InDesign 2019 and updated to 2020 yesterday and today). When I export to PDF, all image tags are added to a new article in the bottom of the tags panel in Acrobat DC rather than in the articles that I assigned them to in InDesign. Luckily, I preserved a version of InDesign 2019 and can open them in there and export to have the tags show up in the correct place. FYI, I also made sure my layers order in InDesign is as I want it…

InDesign White object exports as RGB in PDF/X 2008 PDF
Not sure if this is a bug or intended but I don't think I have had this before as I have saved this file in the past for printing.
InDesign Vers. 14.0.3
White vector object (outlined text in InDesign not Linked/Placed) is changed to an RGB object when exported as a PDF from InDesign using PDF/X 2008 No Conversion Lab Ink Manager Values for Pantones are Lab for Spots & Convert all Pantones to CMYK.
Tried a test using the Save for Print default setting and it came out fine, as well as testing the Output Color Conversion set to…

Text Alignment Issues on PDF
Mac OS (Mojave version 10.14.6) 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, Radeon Pro Vega 16 4 GB Intell UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
InDesing CC totally up to date, uninstalled and cleaned multiple times.
When I export a PDF, both with my own settings and the default High Quality Print the text will randomly not be aligned, for example I exported the attached page 5 times with the exact same setting and sometimes it was fine but a few it was messed up. No noticeable pattern, happens when exporting Print PDF and Interactive.

Accessible PDF Alternative Text Fail When Object Set to Multiply
InDesign 14.0.2
When an object is set to "multiply" in Effects and exported to Interactive PDF, there is a Alternative Text fail reported when running Accessibility Full Check. When the "multiply" effect is removed, there is a clean report. Please fix.
Attached are both the original file (with multiply on) and the PDF generated. If you remove multiply, it works.

Appearance of Black set to "Ouput all Blacks accurately" will produce 95% Black Text in PDF
We use the Setting "Output all Blacks accurately" in the ID Preferences.
If we output a greyscale PDF. Black text is rendered as 95% Black not as 100% as intended.I think this constitutes as a Bug.

PDF Export displays grey box
Adobe InDesign CC 2019 on macOS High Sierra
Currently working in a layout where I'm exporting a PDF, but one image in the document shows as a missing link (grey box) in the export.
I've tried saving the image as a png, relinking from a different location, changing the display to high quality, checked my preferences, preflight errors, and display settings, and nothing has fixed this.2 votes -
Accessibility Checker fails Radio buttons and checkboxes in Adobe Acrobat
Accessibility Checker fails:
Check boxes (Tagged form fields - Failed)
Radio buttons (Tagged annotations - Failed)
InDesign copy changes, Acrobat Reading order missing tags.Using MacOS High Sierra V 10.13.6.
Previous files, InDesign 2018 Export Adobe PDF Interactive Passed the checker.
Duplicate the pdf and rerun the checker and it passes.Same file open in newer version InDesign 2019 Export Adobe PDF Interactive fails. This tells me the problem is with Indesign 2019.
This is happening with all my files. If I take a new Indesign file with no interactive functions and create them in InDesign 2019 everything passes.

Effects appearing in wrong place when exported to PDF
My Case Number: ADB-6422050-V1R6
I've been exporting a document which uses the bevel/emboss effect. Part of the element is outside of the frame of the document. The effect on the part of the element outside the frame is being moved into the frame when I export it into a PDF. In the screenshot, you will see that in InDesign, the yellow pad is completely yellow on the left inside the frame of the document, but the edge of the image outside the frame is white; when you view in preview mode you don't see the white. However, in the screenshot…

Indesign 14.0.1 pixellated output in export to PDF
Indesign 14.0.1
Export to PDF using press quality job option does not produce high quality images the way the previous version used to do and all ends up pixellated at screen resolution only. The only way I know of producing press ready files is now to "package book for print", in which case, if you select your usual press ready PDF option, the conversion definitely works.2 votes -
Accessibility-Tag Tree-Data Merge
ID 14.0.1, Mac Pro, Sierra 10.12.6
Tags are not in proper order in exported PDF
Using Data Merge to create many pages of text and table from large Excel file Col A-FF. Each row produces one page. The first section of the page tags are at the top of the tag tree, followed by the first section of each successive page. Then the Next tags (from the tables) are listed, again by successive pages.
To remediate, all (table) tags have to be moved to the proper page.2 votes
