InDesign window in fullscreen after escaping presentation mode
InDesign version 17.1
When entering presentation mode (shift+w), and then escape, InDesign windows becomes fullscreen.
It would be great to get back to same size and position.

That was a terrible advice. Now I have to recreate all my presets and the issue still remains on my MacBook Pro M1 Max. The only good news is, that the issue was actually fixed on my intel iMac 2019 (but I didn’t have to delete my prefs), so now it’s probably just an issue for all M1 Macs. I also tried to delete and reinstall InDesign, but that didn’t fix anything either.

Still doesn't work after trashing prefs and updating 17.4.... so annoying

The previous post about 'InDesign window in fullscreen after escaping presentation mode' is still occurring after the 17.4 update. It is extremely annoying that I have to change screen size every time after I exit from presentation mode.

It seems to me, that Adobe is not aware what the problem exactly is, so I’ll try to clarify as well and attached some screenshots. Usually on a Mac the menu and the Dock are visible as part of Apple’s interface, which determine the window size. Since the update in the beginning of 2022 InDesign ignores that and resizes the window to 100% of the screen size. The worst part about that is, that InDesign also ignores the top menu, so the menu pushes the window down, which results in a part of the InDesign UI not showing anymore. In this part of the UI you can also see if you have any errors. This crucial information is not visible if you’re not resizing the window manually. I really hope this bug will get fixed soon, because I’m constantly toggeling between the presentation mode to review my work and this bug is driving me crazy for months now.
The bug occurs on my iMac Intel Core i9, macOS Monterey, as well as my MacBook Pro M1 Max. So it’s not just an M1 problem.

Unbelievably frustrating. Happening to me too. The new InDesign seems to be so buggy.

Does someone know how to fix it? -

Any issue about this bug?

Hi Ravi, thanks for the tips but the green button doesn't restore previous previous size and position. It just adjusts maximal height over the dock bar... but width stays at 100% of the screen. It does not help for the moment.
Working about 10h a day on InDesign, its starts to be really annoying.
Please help us to find a fix

When I come out of presentation view the window size gets forgotten and automatically becomes the size of my entire screen (very annoying to keep having to resize the window all the time, completely disrupts my work flow)
We've figured out this is only happening on the new M1 2021 Macbooks – something somewhere is overriding my default settings. My indesign version is 17.1.
