Same for me... did a clean install of the 16.1 version, din't save any prefs or older versions etc...

here the same – crashes constantly, but for random reasons … every day a few times … very frustrating. newest i-mac, newest indesign. i keep sending crash-reports. no solution so far.

Same here. This application is totally unusable with the current state of bugs. Just opening certain tool settings will crash the app. I had to downgrade to 2020 and even that has consistent crashing bugs! This product is in very serious need of fixing. As a long time paying customer I'm really disappointed by the state of the latest Adobe products. I'm still on macos Catalina (no m1 processor) and I can't even change a text frame anchor in the past 2 major release versions of indesign without the app crashing.

Indesign keeps crashing, mostly on PDF export which crashes Acrobat as well. Causes me to restart the computer. Mac, Big Sur, production time has been way down as a result.

The same here. When I am working suddenly it crashes, doing nothing strange. I run the latest version, re-installed, and so on. Working in InDesign makes me more than nervous, cause customers expect every day you are standby. I really don’t know what to do anymore. Please Adobe fix this huge problem!

I echo what user Grant said on 12-18-2020. I can’t really get anything done in InDesign lately, this particular problem has been going on for weeks. But let’s be real: this is turning into a regular thing (for years now) where I upgrade and then have to backtrack to the earlier version. Except this time I can’t seem to open my new files into the 2020 version, there is no way to go back. So I’m left with files stuck in a version that crashes CONSTANTLY.

I’m not going to outline when it crashes because *it does not matter.* Pick a situation, it crashes. It crashes randomly and constantly. And yes, I have deleted preferences. I am running on a less-than-year-old MacBook Pro that is souped up to be able to handle whatever.

So tired of this, Adobe. What are you doing?!

I've attached the latest crashreport. InDesign 2021, version 16.1. After a wake from sleep the program crashes at a random moment with a random file that was open when the machine went to sleep.

Currently experiencing fatal errors while saving the most recent version of InDesign (16.1) after the 10.14.6 OS update on 2.2.21.

I am having the same problem. I just made the update and not only it takes about 5/10 minutes for a low quality file to open but also it crashed as soon as I click on a text box or just move something around. In 1 hour it crashed apprx 4 times?
I am using a mac version 11.0.1 with 16GB RAM.

When the software crashes it makes every other app on my laptop freeze. I can't open or close anything for a long time.

Same over here for a long time now. Multiple crashes each day at no specific moment. Use OSX Catalina with 64GB RAM and 1TB free disk space and InDesign 16.0.2

Starting a video recording is not realistic as you don't know when it occurs.

InDesign receives all those crash reports and should know that there is a problem... We are praying for a solution!

InDesign crashes constantly and for no reason. It crashes when I open files, when I save files, when I import images, when I am making PDFs, when my computer sleeps and I wake it up. Pretty much if I breathe, it crashes.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled and that didn't fix the issue. And I don't know how you expect us to get you a recording of the crashes when we don't know when it will happen and I'm not going to sit with a recording on while I work all day. The number of Crash reports I've sent in should have given Adobe a clue about the issue, as I'm certain I'm not the only person experiencing this issue.

I'm running on macOS Big Sur (v11.1). But this has been happening since the release of InDesign CC2021, even after updates.
