InDesign 2020 won't overwrite PDF
Since updating to Indesign 2020 I can't overwrite pdf files from the export menu it says 'file is still open' when it's not. Yet another thing broken on the yearly beta test.
Fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign 2020 – that is, InDesign 15.1.2
In the Creative Cloud Desktop application, click on the Updates section on the left. You should be able to see the Update available for InDesign. Please update your InDesign application to this version to try out the fix.
Let us know in the comments section if you still face this problem.

Another side-effect surely related. When exporting PDF going to prepress workflow, in prior versions export PDFs directly to hot folder and once writing complete, InDesign releases lock on file and workflow picks it up. New version ID 2020 now retains lock on file even when writing is complete, so prepress workflow never takes files in hot folder. File is essentially locked forever. Only solution is to close ID app on Mac. So workaround have to close ID after exporting PDF every job, then re-open. Definite bug.

Once I create a PDF of my InDesign 2020 File on our server, I am unable to save over the PDF once I make changes later because InDesign says the PDF is open even though the PDF is closed in Acrobat. The only workaround we have found is to quit InDesign and reopen the file then export a PDF and then it will replace the old file.

InDeisgn 2020, iMAC Mohave
I can't overwrite an existing PDF-File anymore, written the first version a few minutes befor. It was not the first file i had this bug since i downloadad CC2020. InDesign says, it can't been overwritten becauese the file ist open. Which ist not true. Even if i restart the computer and this ist the first thing i try, i says "no, file open" -

Adobe InDesign 2020
When trying to save over an existing PDF, an error saying the file is already open appears. Note: the current version of the pdf is NOT open.
