In InDesign CC 2019 slow Reaction Time on clicking from one object to another.
Using InDesign CC 14.0 on Windows 10. I have an magazine layout with text and picture boxes, of course. When clicking from one box to another, there is a long delay, a temporary freeze. Eventually (20-30 seconds) it awakens and I can move on. But it's happening more frequently, even after a reboot.
Is this an issue of my computer talking to Adobe servers?
Nothing to screen shot, there is no message.
Hello All,
Following up on the comments stating that the issue is yet not fixed, we did our investigation and found that, the issues being called out in the comment section, though maybe relevant but are different than the one for which this thread was originally created.
This particular thread caters to a very specific case which has been fixed in the last update of InDesign.
If you continue to face performance related issues with InDesign, we sincerely request you to create a separate thread so that we can categorize the performance related issues and address them completely.
In addition to track the performance issues effectively, it will also enable us to reach out to you in a organised manner when we investigate into each category of performance issues.
We are extremely sorry for the troubles you are facing with InDesign and we are determined to resolve them as efficiently as possible; we need your support.

This had not been fixed with 14.0.1, there is still lag when the control panel is active.
Please dont tag this as fixed!!!

The lag time / pause has not been fixed. Edits to an InDesign that should have taken me 20 minutes has been 3 hours +, still trying to complete the edits between the pauses. I'm up to date for Mojave and latest InDesign 14.0.1. I've tried half a dozen of fixes that other people have suggested but still no luck. PLEASE fix this!

Have tried all fixes found online for slow InDesign. Nothing makes it better. Has been like this for years. Am convinced InDesign doesn't know what the problem is/problems are. They suggest fixes to make it appear that they do.

I'm using CC14.01 and it is still very slow, every action lags. I tried disabling some of the type preferences as suggested in other comments and there is no discernible difference. Please fix, I haven't been able to work on some projects for months due to this workflow issue, it's going to get me fired.

COMPLETELY up to date on Indesign and I keep getting the spinning rainbow wheel of death when doing the simplest of tasks - i.e., copying and pasting text, moving a simple object, etc. It worked fine before!
This is DEFINITELY negatively impacting my work flow and is extremely frustrating, especially when I am often working under deadline! -

Followed the tip from Anonymous on Nov 16 (below):
Saw a recommendation posted to disable the following in preferences > type
-Enable in-menu font previews
-Enable Japanese Font Preview in 'Find More'
-Sort Recent Fonts List Alphabetically
-Preview Font on HoverUnchecked all those (I had previously unchecked Preview Font on Hover and Japanese already unchecked), restarted and Indesign seems to be working like it's old self.
So something seemingly wrong with "font preview" preferences.
This seems too have worked – so far!

I've updated to 14.01. It didn't fix the issue. Scrolling from one page to another it freezes. For crying out loud Adbobe, given how much you charge how difficult is it to test updates before you issue them. Is there any way to revert to 13?

I have installed the 14.0.1 update and it is still excruciatingly slow. I cannot work at this slow speed. I feel I’ve been forced into paying through the nose by subscription so that Adobe can ease off on quality control. I don’t need new features – I need reliable software working efficiently!

This issue is NOT fixed. No more updates to install and slow as hell. I can't move an object over here -- please fix this, our incomes depend on it.

So I just updated to Mojave, trashing all preferences, and completely re-installing InD 2019 CC...aaaand none of that worked.
BUT...what did work was unlocking the locked objects on my page. Magically, everything works normally now. Thank you for wasting 2 hours of my time Adobe. FIX THIS!!!

This is still a bug for me. extreme lag (10+ seconds). Can't even select and move and object. Literally unusable and I am working on a 5"x7" postcard with minimal graphics. Wtf Adobe??
InDesign CC 2019 14.01, iMac 10.13.5 (high sierra; I've heard there's zero improvement with mojave so i've been waiting to install. don't want to waste WORK time just because Adobe can't publish a working product despite the massive amount of cash we fork over for it.)

I have a macbook pro, I'm updated to the latest version of ID, I've changed the settings, and it IS still taking me 10+ seconds to even backspace!

I've installed 14.0.1 on a macbook pro, tried to change all the settings to have the programme running as smooth as possible, but it still hangs, slows down etc.

Running 14.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.13.6 and I disagree that the issue has been fixed, as it is still happening.

Can't say the update fixed anything. Might have even made it worse as the longer I work on a doc, the longer the lag between commands becomes. Dump same file into INDD 2018 and it works smoothly.
Windows 10 64-bit, 64 GB, AMD FirePro WX7100 8GB, Intel Xeon E3-1270 v5 @ 3.60 GHz.
Latest drivers, windows update, etc...

A document is faster in CC 2019 when I make a this document in CS6 and then save it in CC2019.

Idiots!
I d/l TWO builds, waited 5 minutes for each d/l and the BOTH gave me this error:"The installation cannot continue as the installer file may be damaged. Download the installer file again."
Adobe is beginning to really SUCK!!!!
