In InDesign CC 2019 slow Reaction Time on clicking from one object to another.
Using InDesign CC 14.0 on Windows 10. I have an magazine layout with text and picture boxes, of course. When clicking from one box to another, there is a long delay, a temporary freeze. Eventually (20-30 seconds) it awakens and I can move on. But it's happening more frequently, even after a reboot.
Is this an issue of my computer talking to Adobe servers?
Nothing to screen shot, there is no message.
Hello All,
Following up on the comments stating that the issue is yet not fixed, we did our investigation and found that, the issues being called out in the comment section, though maybe relevant but are different than the one for which this thread was originally created.
This particular thread caters to a very specific case which has been fixed in the last update of InDesign.
If you continue to face performance related issues with InDesign, we sincerely request you to create a separate thread so that we can categorize the performance related issues and address them completely.
In addition to track the performance issues effectively, it will also enable us to reach out to you in a organised manner when we investigate into each category of performance issues.
We are extremely sorry for the troubles you are facing with InDesign and we are determined to resolve them as efficiently as possible; we need your support.
Regards,
Abhinav Kaushik

The spinning beach ball is back even after the 14.1 upgrade. Anytime I move around the pages it wants to rasterize all the elements on the screen. Moving from one page to the next, inDesign lags behind trying to catch up with rasterizing. Thus the beachball effect. It does this the more elements (photos) in the document pages. I have 24 pages and each page is on top of a photo background. Hopefully this is clue to this crazy problem

I have tried to turn off many options, including preflight. No change. Please FIX this at once. We are losing time and money.

A second opinion to my last post about the 14.1 upgrade. I have been working on my project for about two hours now and get the spinning beach ball rarely. I think turning off "Pre flight" may have helped. Once again using macOS Sierra.

This is not fixed. So frustrating to work in. Cannot click and drag things without severe half a minute lag, when right clicking on things the menu takes forever to pop up. Literally unusable - even on a small 4 page document. I have downgraded back to 13.1 and will use this until 14.0.1 is actually fixed. late 2015 iMac on macOS Mojave v 10.14.2

I don't think this is fixed at all.
I have a brand new iMac with Mojave 10.14.2, the latest InDesign version 14.0.1. I have 16 Go memory. I have only the fonts that come with the iMac and a dozen more. I have no other application running. I have deleted the old preferences, although there was none before installation. I have disactivated all preferences are know to be be able to slow InDesign. I have dismounted external hard drives. There is no improvement.
I had this problem on an older iMac (four yeras old) and that is why I bought a new one. With no success.
This means for me a big loss in productivity and revenue.
It is high time Adobe solves the issue. -

I am having the same issue everyone below seems to be having. It is taking me forever to make even just 1 small text change. Even just closing the program, it freezes my computer to the point where I cant do anything. This is seriously effecting my workflow, my business and my sanity. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!

Adobe, you boast about your 2019 features, but I cannot even switch back and forth between the Type tool and Selection Tool without a significant delay.
p.s. You suck hard.

SO frustrating! Huge lags accessing menus, moving text boxes, pretty much most actions tbh. I've tried so many fixes. Super fast machine, Mojave and InDesign 14.0.1. Seriously affecting deadlines and slowly driving me crazy!!

This is NOT FIXED on Mac OS 10.14.2, InDesign 14.01
It is very jerky with delays all over the place.
This has happened after upgrading the Mac OS and InDesign. -

Having the same problem. Almost nothing else open yet each action in InDesign CC 2019 v.14.0.1 will get hung up, wheel of death, show error "Not Responding" in Activity Monitor. Very frustrated.

Also stating this isn't Fixed.
I've a brand new i7, 32GB, 1TB of barely used storage with almost nothing running other than my indesign needs right now. I know my computer is beyond overkill, and my network is ample (non-work IT). I have every feature turned off that I can find suggested, display performance set at fast... and still struggling to type at a normal speed.Have updated, uninstalled, cleaned, reinstalled, reset preferences... Spent far too much time in these forums. I've loved indesign for years, but I'm going to have to type things out elsewhere and paste in to hit deadlines.

Id is opening in an unsaved state. Even before altering a file there is an asterisk on the file tab. That is a huge issue because you have to go all through and make sure nothing was changed. Also, half of my 96 page magazine went blank yesterday, Glad, I didn't save before checking!
