PDF Export
InDesign CC2019 / PDF Export Print (Druck)
It is no longer possible to export correctly to PDF x3 or x4; and it is no longer possible to change the export settings of colour profiles (for example to FOGRA 39 or ISO Coated etc…)
An update (14.0.1) is now available for InDesign CC 2019. The update contains the fix for this issue.
Please install this update via the Creative Cloud application.

I not only updated InDesign, but I also completely uninstalled it and installed the latest version from CC. Still unable to export a PDF neither conventionally nor published online. I need a solution immediately.

That goes to Hanyo:
Look into menu Edit > Color Settings…
If color management (CMS) is turned off, turn it on again.Your issue is a clear indication that your CMS is turned off.
That's all.Regards,

When saving from InDesign 2019 to PRINT PDF File I now get an error that reads as follows:
Version 4 ICC Profiles were converted to version 2 ICC profiles during PDF export.
it does not allow me to see where this is being done so that I cannot fix this problem.
We do book publishing and it is critical that we get a clean file with no errors. -

Hi. My issue was not in exporting to PDF but the way colours display on screen.
Checking comments in google seems it is related to Bridge not running properly with sync to other apps.
Hard to show clients correctly the colours while seen the screen. -

my cmyk poppy red is also showing a lot darker and dulled than its RGB equivalent. Been using these swatches for a couple years now and the problem just started today. I downloaded the new InDesign during Adobe MAX conference.

Colours do not display correctly in present version after update to
Version 14, InDesign part of the creative cloud corporate subscription.
Specifically a red colour: pms display a lot darker that in colour swatch; creating a swatch c0,m100,y100,k0 shows as a dark red colour. Magenta colour is not the colour it should be. Exporting the page to pdf the colour shows correctly. -

I had the same issue until I went to bridge and adjusted the color settings from the edit menu - the color synchronisation settings weren't synch'd.

@Paw Olesen:
- close all applications!
- delete the ACEConfigCache2.lst file located at
/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Colorno comes the important part!:
- reopen Bridge
- set the Color-Management Settings within Menu: Edit -> Color Settings
- restart Id
- should work again nowNils

Just spent all afternoon trying to replicate colour settings used on an existing job 2 weeks ago for a printer (supplied ICC profile from the printer using Indesign 2018). No matter what changes I made in the export PDF box, it produced the same incorrect results, that didn't match the previous set of PDFs.
The only fix was to export all my work as IDML files and make the PDFs using Indesign 2018.
Adobe, fix this, this could have cost us thousand with our printer for late files!!! Plus it also makes it look like we have no idea what we are doing.

Same problem here.
Some say delete the ACEConfigCache2.lst file located at
/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Color
but it does not work for me.
Please fix this bug asap.

A workaround, that seems to work: Just install a demo of axaio MadeToPrint (https://www.axaio.com/doku.php/en:products:madetoprintstandard). After using it once, all ID versions should export X3, X4 natively again, even without the plugin.
Only to mention: I am not from axaio.

Please check the following thread and check if x3/x4 export works again after resetting the color prefs.
Worked out for me perfectly: -

Colors are not displaying correctly. There's a color shift when the use of a color is applied in the document versus the swatches, tools and color panels. See the difference.
There's also a shift when you export a jpg (file attached). I had to adjust the colors in Photoshop to match the other elements of an e-blast.

Another note on this bug:
It's not only images in graphic cells that will show the bug.If you select the graphic frame inside the graphic cell and apply a fill and set the rectangle to e.g. blend 30% the PDF/X-1a will contain a fill of 100% of the applied color. The correct fill in the PDF would be 30% of the color applied.

Just tested my workaround with the transparent rectangle added on the page with the attached InDesign document "bug in PNG colorseparation.indd". It worked! The result isn't "blue" anymore.
