Mouse-click in menus becomes disabled
InDesign 12.1.0.56; macOS Sierra 10.12.5; Magic Mouse
The issue varies with any file. I have mostly seen this occur when in the Find/Change window, or when I try and select a font. My mouse will not be able to click (select) anything in the drop down menus. I am able to select with my keyboard by using the arrows and "return" key. To get the mouse to click (select) an option from a drop down menu, I must first restart InDesign and then open the same file.
Based on the recent comments from users saying that they are no longer encountering this issue after the release of 14.0.1, we are marking this as Fixed.

The drop down menu doesn't allow you to change between cmyk and rgb when exporting a jpeg file, sometimes the program get back to work after restarting, sometimes not.

Hi,
Any news on this?
I also have the same problem. All mouse-click menus are disabled. It seems that the 1st time you select a menu option it works but then it stops working all together. First ones to become disabled were find/change options, now I can´t even select a font. Nothing is working. I re-installed indesign but it stays the same. I working with Indesign cc 2018 and Os High Sierra 10.13.3. and I never had this issue with any previous versions of Indesign. Please help! -

This issue seems to affect ALL drop down menus within the PDF export dialogue. It also affects drop downs when exporting as an eps file, not just PDF.

I am unable to toggle between options in the PDF Presets, Standard and Compatibility dropdowns in InDesign. This issue cropped up suddenly and recently, after updating the application via Creative Cloud. I have seen this issue before during a previous update. See video for demonstration of the bug:

I also experience this issue, which cropped up after an update installed in February 2018. I am unable to switch between presets in the PDF export dialogue. Also unable to make similar toggles even when exporting as an eps file.

Same here! Vertical alignment, table styles, you name it.

I have this happen about 4-5 times a week. It seems to me that something triggers it because it isn't always a problem when first starting InDesign. To perhaps reiterate what has been said in previous comments; this exists in CC2015, CC2017 and CC2018 in Sierra and High Sierra. (Haven't tested versions older than that.) It also exists in InCopy.

Same issue for me - ever since updating to High Sierra (10.13.3). Using the latest Creative Cloud - InDesign.
Only works when I use the arrow keys/enter within the Preset dropdown menu. Mouse clicks don't register the selection.

I can't choose a different PDF Preset. It just stays on the one i used last. To change the preset I have to quit indesign a few times until i can change it. -

Same issue. Moving the mouse down from File causes a different drop down menu to appear. At least yesterday that was the case. Interestingly yesterday it was only File, Edit and Layout that caused the Window or Help to drop. Now File works fine and all the other menu items drop the a menu to the left. Deleting the preference file on opening had no effect. I've been unable to locate the pref and cache files in file manager.

When I click in a dialog box, like to change a font, edit a paragraph style, etc, it does not work. It only works when I use my keyboard to scroll and hit enter.
This just started happening 2 days ago. I have not changed my OS or CC version. Currently using Indesign CC 13.0.1.

This is a SERIOUS issue! How can it have gone on this long and not been addressed? CC2018 export was working fine and now I am experiencing this too. I am also unable to select a printer. They show - but I can't change from Post Script option.

I have OS X EL Capitan 10.11.6 and have the same issue. Sometimes I can select print presets and other times I have to use the arrow keys. All of them show up white, as to select them but, will not unless using the arrow keys majority of the time. With technology, there is NO EXCUSE for such poor programming. Instead of Adobe Indd, our company is going toward - Scribus. The industry needs something that actually works.
