AdjustLayoutPreference Object Properties Not Working in InDesign 2025 & 2026 Scripts
Hi All,
I am using Indesign 2025 and 2026; I would like to enable the "Adjust Layout" option in my documents through the Indesign scripting by using "AdjustLayoutPreferences" object properties as in InDesign ExtendScript API Model, but Indesign throwed error is "Eval Error (#55): "Object does not support the property or method 'adjustLayoutPreferences'".

Object Menu, Arrange for Text blocks not working
InDesign version 21.0.2 x64
I have used Adobe InDesign since 1997 (first introduced to me at school while I was learning Quark), more full-time since 2002 (worked at a newspaper). I have always been able to use the Object menu to either move objects in front of or in back of others. This still seems to work in 2025 with actual objects, i.e., rectangles, ovals, etc. It no longer works as of today with text blocks. In my remote conversation with Manoj, the only workaround is to either type my text into a color block and reposition it, or perhaps…

text box resizing causes document to shift in window
I have an issue now that has never come up before I updated to 20.5.1. When I try to resize a text box or image box, the document shifts down and the content box is shifted up. The video shows it better. I then discovered that if I create a new text box, delete it, then create another new text box and delete that one, the issue goes away. I closed and re-opened the document, and the issue was still gone. Have not had it happen enough to know if it will recur at a later time.

Properties panel will not go away
Yesterday InDesign 21.0 was forced upon me and I've had nothing but troubles since.
This specific bug is extremely annoying - I cannot get rid of the Properties panel. I have always used Essentials Classic layout, and I do not want the Properties panel. I close it. With each new file I open - the panel reopens. I cannot get it to go away.

[ID-4272089]Grouped objects does not go back to original layers when ungrouped if 'Ungroup Remembers Layer' is enabled
- Version of Adobe InDesign is v21.0
- Create several layers, put an object on each layer, make sure that 'Ungroup Remembers Layers' is checked, group all objects, and ungroup.
- Expected result: all objects remain on the layer they were on before they were grouped.
- Actual results: all objects are on the top layer or the highest layer on which there was an object that was within the group
In my opinion this should be treated as a hotfix. This is ruining the workflow and messes up the files that then need to either be fixed or rolled back to previous versions.…

The MathML module does not support Polish characters in formulas. Polish characters are displayed in a different font than the rest of the formula, which makes the entire expression visually inconsistent.

Margins and guides don't work regardless of preview mode or not
The margins and guides disappeared and don't show when i click show and fix up the margin size. The feature just stopped working and doesn't want to even after computer restart and reinstallation of Indesign.

[ID-4270655] Align to Bleed issue
The Align to Bleed function works incorrectly for certain bleed situations.
If a facing-page document has an Inside bleed smaller than the other sides, (e.g Top: 1p6, Bottom: 1p6, Inside 0p, Outside 1p6) the Align to Bleed will left-align objects to this smaller bleed instead of the correct outer dimension. Reapply the master without losing information in text frames from the master
This is complicated to describe, so I'm going to use a not-so-great example. In PowerPoint you can put "placeholders" on the master pages. If you make a change to the position of the placeholder and update the slide everything moves into the correct position.

20.3.1 the version I just updated too (my bad! I should know by now not to update anything). Now, it takes a few seconds to recognize I've clicked on anything. I expect it would immediately acknowledge the click as it did before the update.

selecting text boxes
InDesign 20.2 Mac M1 Sequoia 15.4.1. When I click a text box to select it, nothing happens until I jiggle the mouse. When this happens the corner boxes appear. However, many times when I click, nothing appears selected. This bug is unsettling. This is why I prefer to use InDesign 19 for important jobs. The text block in the attached screen shot has been single clicked.

Bug: Size of pages in INDD changes when placing the INDD in another INDD
Indesign 20.2, Windows 11
Not sure if this can be reproduced, but here is what I did:
1. Created an INDD with two pages with size 180x264, no margins
2. At the bottom of the second page placed a text frame with some text, so its bottom-left corner is at X=0 and Y=264
3. Saved the INDD and placed it another INDD
4. When applying "Fit frame to content" on the placed object, the displayed size changed to 180 mm x 260.2 mmIt turns out that the text frame at the bottom of the second page has a different…

Paragraph shading disappears randomly when working in Indesign
Expected result: the shading is displayed as it is applied in the settings, also when making an adjustment.
Actual result: When opening the Indesign file, the shading is displayed correctly. But when a change is made in the area with paragraph shading, the shading randomly disappears in some places and the edges of the shading are not displayed correctly, which makes it impossible to make accurate changes in the shading. Actual result: after making an adjustment, the shading disappears in some places and the shading edges that are displayed are not the actual edges, which makes it impossible to make accurate changes in the shading. Inset spacing no longer working after re-installing InDesign 2025
I re-installed InDesign 2025 because some windows were blank ('Text Wrap', 'Paragraph' & 'Colour'). It solved that issue but developed a new issue - it wouldn't save. So I re-installed again without keeping any settings/preferences, this time it developed a new issue - Inset spacing no longer works.
