  1. Mapping errors of PDF comments for deletion when applied to list items (CC 2020)

PDF comments for deletion of list items get wrongly mapped to InDesign when importing to CC 2020; e.g. include the last character from previous list item if bullet point / numbering was included in selection to be deleted, or are mapped to a completely wrong part of a document.

Haven't tested with older versions of ID.

  2. Indesign quitting and slow while shooting PDF's

InDesign 15.0.2 slow PDF creation, gets worse the more PDF's i shoot in a row, finally indesign quits.

It all started when indesign was working very slowly.
I fixed this issue by turning off GPU and Preflight.

I have to regularly shoot Hi and Lo res PDF's, 50 at a time, 2 page brochures, 100 pages in the document, the first 3-5 pdf's shoot fine, then it starts to slow down, i spend 30 seconds on each pdf just watching the spinning progress wheel before it will even let me type in the page numbers, this gets worse and worse…

  3. PDF comments made in Acrobat are not matched in my InDesign

    Hi !

Since a couple of weeks comments PDF made by my client are not matched in my indd files.

I have the latest version of inDesign and my client's Acrobat is up to date to.

We are use to work on long files about 400 pages… pages can have different sizes. We didn't change anything in our workflow… I don't understand why it doesn't work anymore. About only 10% of comments matches… the other ones are (?)…

Thank you for helping and fixing this bug.

  6. formatted text

    1. 14.0.2
    2. importing pdf comments that have bold and italic text in the replacement text
    3. that it would show as bold or italic in the pdf comment dialog box
    4. shows all text as none formatted

I can understanding it would be difficult to get that text to change to bold/italic when i click accept, but if i at least saw that it was bold/italic in the preview box i'd know to make that edit manually.

  9. PDF comment: need Insert Text at Cursor tool

People who are reviewing now only can add a sticky note, , highlight text, underline text (and add a comment), strikeout text and draw. Adding text. The regular Comment toolbar also contains the Insert Text at Cursor tool. This must be added to the review features when documents are sent for review via the new Send for Review feature.

  10. PDF Comments not working

    ID 15.0.1 Mac

Import PDF comments from file, including strikethroughs, replaced text, comments

Faithful transfer of all edits to ID file

Edits not being applied properly in ID file, though clearly present when PDF is viewed in Acrobat. It usually just deletes the text rather than replacing it.

  11. Can't accept "highlighted" text (with replacement text) using Import PDF Comments

For years I have taught my clients to not use insert or strike through, simply because they are hard to see and click on, especially on a laptop. I much prefer the old school way, highlighted text, with an attached replacement text. Now with Import PDF comments, I see them but can't accept them. Can you make that work?

  12. Import PDF Comments - New Bugs identified - Part 3

We're also facing below issues in the new feature, called 'Import PDF Comments':

    (1) [CRITICAL ERROR] When any insertion is happening at the end of paragraph, InDesign is swapping the last character after the new insertion

    (2) When any PDF comments appeared within the tinted panel, it's not replacing properly

Please let me know for any clarifications on the above given feedback.

  13. PDF comments panel does not stick in workspace

We have discovered that the PDF Comments panel disappears when a document is closed.

But we have also found that any panels that are grouped with the PDF Comments panel in a saved workspace disappear when the document is closed.

Refreshing the workspace brings them all back.

  15. import pdf comments

    1. ID 14 Mac
    2. Copy text out of a comment to paste into layout
    3. Would expect that the cursor could be used to select all or part of an imported PDF comment
    4. In fact it is EXTREMELY difficult to get the palette to recognize that text is selected in the palette interface. The "Copy" popup does not appear a large proportion of the time, or you can't select the range of characters you need. Even though Acrobat is terrible at the same process, it is significantly faster to copy the needed range of characters from the comment in Acrobat and switch…

  16. Restrict printing of PDF until all mandatory fields are filled in.

I have designed a CC authorization form that all fields are set to mandatory and with a PRINT button at the bottom. However I want to restrict printing until all fields are filled out. What's the sense of making fields mandatory if, basically, they aren't?

  17. "PUBLISH ONLINE" - DESCRIPTION FEATURE

INDESIGN > PUBLISH ONLINE > GIVEN OPTIONS - Title & description fields = what is the intention behind these options?

My intention to use these would be, to supply additional information within the document/ link to my client, whom I share this link with.

Client opens the document > but the provided information are not displayed anywhere... so what's the point?

  18. Unable to Import PDF Comments from Acrobat 2019 Shared Review

PDFs with shared Reviews running off the Adobe Document Cloud are not able to import comments into InDesign.

Since Acrobat 2019, we are no longer able to use our own review server. There's now a big blue button to share the review using the Adobe Document Cloud. While this simplifies using Shared Reviews, the review PDF is now hosted and maintained by Adobe. Then, there is no longer a way to import the comments into InDesign.

To import a PDF's Shared Review Comments, InDesign requires access to the copy of the PDF containing the comments. With Acrobat 2019, this copy…

  19. Selection of PDF Comments

    InDesign CC2019 (14.02 x64) Windows 10

I am only able to select the corresponding sticky note icon from imported PDF comments at 100% or less view magnification. This is unhelpful as at this scale, large dimension sized documents the text is greeked out, I need to zoom in to see what is written in my document to compare against the comment, but then have to zoom back out to select the next icon to bring that comment to the fore of the list.

Please correct so I can select sticky notes while panning throughout a document at >100%.

  20. Import PDF Comments not working correctly for Tables.

PDF comment import not working accurately on tables

    1. ID 14 Mac
    2. Import PDF comments to layout including simple 2-column tables in which an entire row is marked as deleted/struck through
    3. Expected that the entire row would be deleted upon acceptance of edit via PDF Comments palette
    4. In fact Accepting edit only deletes the contents of the first cell of the row, leaving the orphaned data behind.
