4. Adobe indd 2021

   The welcome page has a bug. The filenames are double. In addition to that, we do not get a notice anymore if somebody else is trying to open the same document. Really annoying. Hope you´ll be able to fix it.

6. Datamerge Trims Spaces

   I just noticed that Datamerge trims leading and trailing spaces from text columns in CSV files when merging. The resulting text doesn't have the proper spaces on either end, even though the spaces are present in the CSV.

   This is problematic because if you have two text fields that are being merged in the same text frame without a line break, you can't include a space at the end of one or the start of the other to be inserted between them. You can put a space in between the placeholders, but that won't achieve the desired result if the two fields sometimes need a space and other times don't.

8. Upgrade InDesign v 15 to InDesign v 16

   I have an Adobe creative account where I worked on Indesign v 15 a few weeks ago, but for a few weeks now when Indesign v 16 appeared, I can't upgrade to the new version.
   The message is "you do not have a compatible Windows system" although my version of Windows is Windows PRO 10 version 2004.
   Why can't I upgrade?
   I am enclosing the configuration of my computer and the error message that appears to me.

9. I can't change dictionary settings from German

   Hi – I have tried to change my (inherited) document spelling several ways to English (UK). It's saying in the all the right places that it's English (UK) but then when I spell check the document it's showing German 2006 reform. Can anyone help me change it, or is it a bug? Thank you.

10. Bug: InDesign Index page ranges not working when using "Next use of Style" options

    Adobe InDesign 2020
    15.0.2 x64

    Issue:

    I am trying to create index entries that include a page range (such as 26-29) instead of a single page number using paragraph styles.

    I am having trouble getting the page ranges for my indexed content to update correctly. Specifically, the index entry always only shows the first page of the range in the index pane on the first attempt.

    I can sometimes (but not always) trick it into updating the page range correctly. I attached a video of it finally working after five failed attempts.

    Here is what I tried:

    Step 1: Select the text that I want to be created as a marker, in this case, "Vacation" (by dragging the selection in the first [failed] video, and triple-clicking in the second video.)

    Step 2: Select "Next Use of Style" and use "Heading 2".

    Step 3: Click OK.

    The first attempt always displays incorrectly.
    After toggling between various Page range options, committing each one, and then toggling back to "Next use of Style," I can sometimes get a page range to appear, but it usually incorrect. An example of this behavior is illustrated in the first video when the page range shows 26-67. (It should be 26-29.)

    Video two picks up where the first one let off. I try a slew of page range options, consistently returning to "Next use of Style" and "Heading 2" until finally, the correct range appears.

    Also, if I need to nest that entry under another, the process starts all over again. :(

    UPDATE: It turns out that even the last attempt is a failure. I am posting video #3 to show which pages the styles appear, and in what order. sigh

11. No tool type disable feature. Can't close.

    Adobe Indesign 2020.

    VERY ANNOYING. I can't even close the boxes. I have to save, quit app, and open again...EVERY TIME. This includes all the tool tips.

12. Open more than one InDesign file

    InDesign gets really slow after opening more than one document at a time

    The Problem ist, that the Users can open more than one but InDesign get slower an slower, till you have to wait a couple of minutes until you can work on the selected item.
    If we kill the InDesign Process via. TaskMananger an reopen the document, everythings works fine, but this can't be the final solution.
    The problem happens in aller InDesign 15 Versions.
    There ist no performance issue on the Win10 Computers. The Computer is running on 50-70%.
    Anyone got the same Problem and have a solution?

13. Windows 10 Filetype capture

    I let the Creative Cloud Desktop upgrade me from 2020 to 2021 and uninstall 2020... only the file associations didn't get updated and there isn't a way to select Indesign 2021.

    Maybe have a manual button option you can hit to select default filetypes if an upgrade goes awry.

    Meanwhile what's the quick fix?

14. Shortcut for High Quality Display does something else

    Up until Indesign CC 2020, when pressing "ctrl option command h" my document would switch to high res view. Since 16.0 it hides all other Programs of macOS (10.15.7) instead. When using the mouse it still works. Why is that, and how can I get the functionality back?

15. Impossible to copy text from InDesign 2021 to other applications

    It is impossible to copy any text from InDesign 2021 to other applications as Notepad or Excel.
    When copying any text in InDesign, the Windows clipboard becomes empty even if there was anything.
    However, it is possible to paste into InDesign any text from InDesign and any other text from outside of InDesign.
    Resetting settings using Ctrl-Shift-Del at InDesign start and changing settings “Copy/paste in PDF format” didn’t help.

16. Selection tool issue in the latest version of InDesign.

    The selection tool now only works to change the size of boxes (text, images), it no longer lets you move the boxes around the page. To move boxes you know have to switch tools to the Free Transform Tool which makes everything more time consuming.

17. [BUG] [IND] [CC2021] Wrong language installed

    With this message, I would like to report a bug.

    The Creative Cloud desktop app installs the wrong language for Indesign. Default is set to English, but it installs Dutch.

    Removing the older Indesign CC2020 and installing it again, it installs my default language (UK). For CC2021 it only installs Dutch. I'm using Os X 10.14.6.

20. I've had to renter my pasword and code from text 6x in the last 2 1/2 hours. How is anybody supposed to get any work done when updating apps

    Why is updating apps such a pain in the butt!!!!
    Had to log into a different ID to get past supposed firewall issues and then had to keep using password and code sent to text on my phone every time I opened an app.
    VERY UNPRODUCTIVE AFTERNOON. THANK YOU CREATIVE CLOUD!!!!!
