libraries
I like working with libraries. which are anchored to the side. sometimes when i open indesign, the libraries are gone or messy on my screens.
it is always difficult to find them again, to place them in the quietest. it is an unnecessary waste of time for me and I have to reorient myself again.
i had this problem with all indesign versions so far i haven't complained.1 vote -
Problem loading font blocks export
It is common that when importing a text from Word or simply activating a new font (I use FontXplorer X Pro) InDesign stays in the activation process infinitely. This unfinished process blocks any export. The solution is to close InDesign.

Indesign quits after mac goes to sleep
Have to open In-Design (18.1) again (not sure if it's an actual crash) after the Mac (mini - Ventura (13.2.1) goes to sleep after an hour. Other Adobe programs don't do this.
Upon opening InDesign, it won't automatically open the Properties and Tool floating pallets even though it is marked to open under the Window drop down menu and that I've set it up that way before opening or creating a new file. The other floating pallets selected will show.

'manage extensions' not in 'help' dropdown
The extensions option is not showing in the "help" menu. When I go to the Help Menu there is no "Manage Extensions" option. Please provide troubleshooting steps as I need to load a local extension into inDesign. Extensions option not showing in "Window" menu
The extensions option is not showing in the "Window" menu. When I go to Edit-> Menu I can see it as a visible option, but it does not show up. Please provide troubleshooting steps as I need to load a local extension into inDesign.

tool panel/character panel disappears
Since INDesign 2023 my tool bar and character panels occasionally disappear. When I click out of the app and then come back to it later. They aren't there. When I go to the Window menu, I can get them back, but this is happening a few times a day and is an annoyance.
Never had that in 15 years of InDesign.
p.s. It happened once in Photoshop too!

Visual ghosting on stage
Hello,
I have had some issues (possibly since the last update) with visual "ghosting" artifacts. Use to be, it would have been an issue with the refresh rate of a monitor, or not having the latest Nvidia graphics card update, but neither of these appears to be the issue.
I'm open to some recs to fix this issue. Please see the image for a clearer explanation of the problem.
And yes, when I move the stage/the issue, visibility does go back to normal.

W switch between normal and bleed mode
Pressing W switch between normal and bleed mode and not between normal and preview mode for this specific document.
And sometimes no shortcut is working for this INDD.

Welcome screen has a trypophobia trigger image
The image in the top row, 2nd from the right, can be a visual trigger for people with trypophobia like myself. It is a small thing but something that can be easily fixed so I figured I'd write!

InDesign 18.1 x64 (Windows) - Problem with font Latino URW Regular Italic
InDesign 18.1 x64 (Windows) - Downloaded Adobe Latino URW fonts from Adobe fonts site - The Regular Italic shows up as Italic in Windows fonts and Word, the others are OK. When placing Word document into InDesign, get missing font because InDesign does not recognize Latino URW Italic, it wants Latino URW Regular Italic. It is a font naming issue. After removing font, restarting computer, and reloading, problem persists.

Copy and paste impossible between inDesig and photoshop
Hi everybody,
Since this morning, copy and paste between inDesig and photoshop is crashed. Things are going fine between illustrator and photoshop, so I have to coping in inDesign and pasting into illustrator, and them do it so in photoshop.

Embedding video and publishing online
I tried to embed four small videos (first at HD and then at SD) but the online publishing kept coming up with a error #16 message, when I tried to do this. After trial and error, I only managed to upload three videos into the Annual Report I had put together - not ideal at all.
This would imply that there IS a limitation in terms of file size when publishing online. The overall size of the InDesign file was 23,560 KB.

Lenteurs sur Indesign 2023
Sur la version 2023 (18.0) faire un assemblage est très très long. Plus de 20min pour un doc 16 pages..

Hyperlink url gets cut off
When creating a hyperlink by selecting text, the hyperlink gets cut off if the selection exceeds a certain number of characters – and the link ends up invalid.
Easy to reproduce, see attached video.

InCopy Templates opening new Document with unique assignments
This is for InCopy but it would be great to be able to save InCopy Templates that open a new Incopy document with NEW UNIQUE assignments. For example, this would allow you to make an InCopy Sign template that has locked down branding, etc but has editable text fields that can be populated by client and saved off as print pdfs for production. The client could then use the template over and over to create many signs.

Buttons Reverting to Top-Most Destination
I set up all of my buttons on different parent pages and amended pages based on parent pages, gave them all unique names and set their destinations. They worked perfectly for precisely one export to interactive PDF and then most of the buttons reverted to the top-most destination in the list when I reopened the document.
