InDesign performance issues: text tool
InDesign performance issues (version 15.1.1 x64 - 32GB RAM installed - Win 10 - Adobe Creative Cloud).
From the previous version the Text tool slows down the program considerably; it is not possible to work with at least two open files (I work with multiple open files, never a problem).
So the work is very slow !!! Please provide a solution. Thank you!4 votes -
Hide Frame Edges Keyboard Shortcut is Not Working
Mac OS Catalina 10.15.6
Adobe InDesign 15.1.2
Expected result: The keyboard shortcut (Control + Command + H) is supposed to show and hide frame edges.
Actual result: The keyboard shortcut does not work. I've tried quitting InDesign and restarting. I've tried shutting down my Macbook and restarting. The keyboard shortcut still does not work.2 votes -
Overprint Preview switches off when viewing Story Editor
I view the InDesign file in Overprint Preview.
I then need to check some text that isn't quite visible on the page.
Select the text frame and view it in Story Editor so I can ensure it matches what was supplied.
Once you do this - Overprint Preview switches off.1 vote -
Option-Click/Drag to duplicate spread does not work anymore with MacOS 11.0.1 update
- InDesign 15.1.3
- To Duplicate Spreads in Pages Panel — Option-Click/Drag to duplicate spread does not work anymore with MacOS 11.0.1 update. It used to with previous MacOS.
- Expected Result: the grab hand would have a plus sign, then duplicate spread.
- Actual Result: The grab hand operates as "Move" not "Duplicate".
Right/Click Duplicate does, however (but who has that much time? : )

InDesign, InCopy: linked copy and image files randomly broken
We are a group of 16 graphic designers working on Macs. Our OS are varied between Sierra, High Sierra and Mojave. We work in InDesign 14.03 and 15.02 (with linked InCopy assets), Bridge 9.1 and 10.03, Photoshop 20.0.8 and 21.1, and Illustrator 23.1.1 and 24.1. We work on Box Drive and store our layout files and absolute-linked image assets there. It is critical that we are able to work on each others’ files in a high-volume, high-production environment. We don’t believe this is an issue related to our connection speeds.

inDesign - Banner warning first time using and preferences may have changed
WHEN NEW VERSION IS OPENED FIRST TIME
Can you put up a banner the first time that tells me all my preferences may have blown out because this is a new version to remind me to check?
Would not help me with this blowing out all the time...Yes - I should check color settings prior to printing...

Indesign 16.1 Insert new cross reference takes 20 minutes for the panel to load
Indesign version: 16.1
Steps to reproduce: Insert new cross reference
Expected result: New Cross-Reference panel should load within an acceptable delay
Actual Result: New Cross-Reference pane takes extremely long time to load.To add a new cross reference takes about 20 minutes for the panel to load, while editing an existing cross reference is normal. The issue is common to many documents.
I tried to go back to versions 16.0 and 16.01, but had the same issue.
I have used this feature in the past and every thing was normal.

Can't see highlighted input numbers in Medium Interface after upgrading to Mac OS 11.2.1
I just upgraded my Mac to OS 11.2.1 on Sunday and noticed that when I try to highlight numbers in the medium interface in both InDesign and Illustrator I can't see what I've selected. I think the highlight color is too close to the background color. The attached file shows that Photoshop has an option for "highlight" that is not available in Indesign or Illustrator and I have also included what it looks like when I try to highlight a number. You will see a tiny blue border on the boxes where I have highlighted the numbers.

Suddenly my document reverts to an earlier version
Ever since I updated Adobe InDesign to version 15.0.1, my current document suddenly reverts to a state from several minutes prior. All of my recent changes are gone, up to ten minutes, and they are not even available under Edit > Redo.
I've started saving more often now. Recently, this problem happened again. It suddenly went back to an earlier state than I had last saved, so I closed without saving, reopened, and the file was exactly in the state I expected, which was a LATER state than my document had reverted itself to (thank goodness), but not where I…

Adobe Publish Online lacks a search bar
Having used InDesign 16.0.2 to successfully publish my document, I discovered, unlike "other" online publishing tools, the end-user has no search bar. Worse yet, typing "command" + "k" — while it does work in all browsers and in all PDF files — does NOt work in an online published document. Basically, the document is NOT searchable? That is a critical misfire for an "online" publication. Please add a search bar immediately, if not sooner. I love this new publish online feature, but cannot justify an unsearchable web document to my higher-ups.

InDesign file size out of control
Working on a large 2500+ document and any time I open and make even a minor update - just updated the TOC automatically - the file balloons from 48MB to over 72MB in size. Unnecessary. Please get this under control. Thanks.

dialog window of Export
I have noticed a very troublesome change in the export window.
In CS6, which I use frequently, the "range" item lists the prefixes used in the document.
There is no hint in CC; ranges must be entered "manually" each time1 vote -
Slow & stuttering performance since using 4K monitor
Hi
I've recently upgraded to a Dell UP2720Q 4K monitor.
Since the upgrade i've notices that inDesign has become nearly unusable, Its slow when selecting objects, editing text, moving things around...When moving Indesign to my second monitor (eizo s2433w) the problem goes away.
The only fix I have found is to change the display profile to "Apple RGB" in the display settings. This fixes the problem immediately, but now the colours look horrible...
I've also notices this problem with other Adobe apps like, illustrator and photoshop. But Indesign seems to have the worst of it.

INDESIGN CRASHING WHEN TRYING TO THREAD OR BREAK TEXT THREAD BOX
SINCE LAST THURSDAY WHEN I AM WORKING WITH A FILE AND I AM TRYING TO BREAK BEFORE OR AFTER A THREADED TEXT BOX IT CRASHES WHEN USING SCRIPT. HOWEVER ALSO WHEN I TRY TO THREAD A TEXT BOX SO THE TEXT CAN KEEP FLOWING IT CRASHES AS WELL. THIS IS MAJOR MAKING INDESIGN PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE.
BEEN REPORTING CRASH REPORTS BUT COMING BACK ON MONDAY AND SEEING NO UPDATES TO FIX THIS ISSUE

Menu/File dropdown not working. When I try to Save as, Export or Print from the menu, nothing happens. Shortcut keys work, but seemingly nothing in the dropdown. I am using the latest version of Indesign and Apple OS

last window size unremembered when application frame turned off
InDesign on Mac 16.102 will not remember last open document size when Application Frame is turned off. When no document is currently open and I want to open a new document it always fills the entire space on my monitor between the tools on the left and the pallets on the right. I have to manually drag the new document window to the size I want. It's not convenient and user friendly! If the Application frame is turned on - it WILL remember. But as a Mac user I want that frame turned off - like it used to be.

Separation Preview Bug
Separation preview will scrambled when you jump to next page and turn any colour separation off, the text and image from previous page will show on the current display page.
This issue has beed existed since version 2017 to 2020. I saw some users are facing same issue from previous version and not been fix all these years.

Place dialogue blank
The place dialogue is often a nearly blank/greyed-out box. Sometime ID crashes, sometimes it allows me to a place the file through the dialogue, sometimes the dialogue disappears when I click the pasteboard. It happens seemingly randomly.
